Add mounts with 1% drop rate and all 24 people roll on it /derp
This is a consequence SE has to deal with after they chose this extreme vertical progression.
I hadn't done CT since ST was released. Since I had started over and I'm just now knocking out all the crap I needed to do, I had to run it. Worst. CT. run. ever. My alliance wiped 3 times before the dragon. Somehow after the dragon though we managed to be the best alliance in the raid. Go figure.
Better get used to it. This is SE's design decision that apparently majority of players like and support (throwing away content 6 months after its release).
New players coming at expansion will have 1-50 levelling process -> straight to expansion content to enjoy.
I still run it for the armour to glamour, although my rolls are always atrocious. I know what you mean though, it's quite a fun dungeon with some interesting mechanics - Atomos, dragon and skeletons etc (more so than don't stand here or you wipe the raid).
There isn't a better fight as a MNK than Atomos.
I did CT a few days ago. God was it horrible but god was it nice to just be in there again at all. ST just isn't the same... :( If CT and ST had the same drops I'd pick CT over ST for sure, despite the higher chance of failing groups. CT at least had somewhat challenging (compared to ST, at least) "trash" pulls before the bosses. Rather than just being packs of trash they were more like mini bosses in a way. I really liked that. A real shame it's basically useless now.
They could add a minion or two to it... that should reinvigorate it for a while. Even at a 30% drop... On an semi related note I have YET to see the 4th chest in CT and I'm calling it a myth...
Its sad, last night the que for ct was dead so I ended up running st again.
Hunting has been kinda slow lately too. Part finder almost empty most of the day.
I think they never planned for people going back to school and having less time for their RNG mission impossible.
Hunts let you get to near i90 in one round of A ranks. Someone in my fc did that and bought all the myth gear with the hunt seals. Yesterday I got into a titan HM trial (iirc only need i57) where the pld has full i90 myth gear save for the 1 ring...and a cobalt samshir and some lvl 40 shield. He said he has never done the fight before (there was indeed a myth bonus) but the party let him main tank it. I was about to point it out but they already pulled. Needless to say, we had to do a 2nd attempt. I'm not joking.
I don't know how the expansion ilvl structure is going to be like, but if there's a 'standard' starting ilvl for the new lvl cap (right now our light dungeons goes up to i80 and will probably end at i100 at 2.5, the supposed last patch before expansion), I would not be surprised if they start handing out i100+ gear as you level up with quest rewards so that new players starting from expansion will be able to jump in into the expansion content straight away with 'friends'. All the gear that we have so far will be nothing but glamour novelties, and so will be the content that drops these gears (see: levi ex).
Old And Busted Raid Roulette. Please look forward to it.
It is worrying, any new player coming to the game, will have lab and tower to get through, then when the next part is added, it will be nigh on impossible for any new player to progress to it, because let's face it, very few will run lab when a third raid is added, and the ST gear will be ignored this making that ignored too, so players coming to the game will be stuck not being able to progress
Last night I queued on an alt that actually needs lab to continue, was in queue for 2hrs before giving up.
You know, I'm sure they'll eventually make it so you can desynth gear from CT/ST/Coil/2ndCoil/etc. to get a unique type of Demimateria used to craft glowing variations of their respective gear.
One way they could do it, to help people catch up to the newer raid, is make a story mode option, where you continue the quest, see the cutscenes and then move to next quest to unlock ST.
Could even add a "heroes have already cleared it out, ready for us to move in to ST"
Least new players would have a way to catch up without being locked out of content and those that want to spend ages clearing it can still do so
Snide doesn't mean what you apparently think it means. Try again.
Has nothing to do with being lucky either. People still do it. I've done it numerous times, tank queue, heal queue, DPS queue. Yes, DPS gets it longer, on average its been 25-45 minutes. TBH though I was queueing not for gearing my classes, but I wanted some easy to get gear for my retainer. I couldn't roll need on it as my SCH (which got a faster queue) so when it did drop I would be able to get it. This has all been within the past.... 5 days? or so. I think it took me 3/4 SMN runs to get the items I wanted.
I wouldn't call his post an exaggeration tho, it depends on both data center and time of the day, I wouldn't recommend late night / early morning queues (EST), just today I had a 60 mins queue for Titan HM as melee DPS, just because I chose a terrible time to queue (5-6 am EST), if that was for a more or less popular content, I can't imagine how long it would be for a dead content like CT.
Different data centers for one, I play late at night in eu which isn't even close to peak time
Again to clarify, just because you have short queues do not presume everyone does, be it different data centers, different times. Not everyone gets to play at peak times
feel so bad for new players, joining a game where about half it's content is completely and utterly dead by the time they reach 50. How often are we telling new players " nobody does that anymore"?
I would love so much if se scrapped all gear below i90, and gave fresh 50s the myth set, instead of the AF1 set. Revised the stats of monsters in all dungeons AND ofc revised the loot and reward.
This is naturally just a bandaid ofc, because with vertical progression, it would just go full circle and happen again....
It would be great to see them make an 8 man version when newer content comes out just so that people can still get gear for glamour purposes. Most of the mechanics could be scaled to work with 8.
I called his post an exaggeration not because of queue length but because of how "little it is done". It gets done plenty of times, now, if the majority of its at peak times? Can't help you. Because people queuing for it directly affects queue times, those numbers were used, my point, which you can re-read if you don't believe (post hasn't been edited) is that the exaggeration was for how little its QUEUED for. It has a standard dungeon queue time, albeit during peak hours (presumably, that's all I can attest to at least).
I did not presume everyone has short queue times. The only thing I've disputed is that its dead content and no-one will queue/does queue for it. That is simply false, and yes a queue time was given to measure it, because that's the only way to tell. Had I queued for it, let's say, 5 hours later? Yeah, I wouldn't get it. The same thing applied to when I queued for Coil-turn 1 at 8AM and it hit 75 minutes. I said... hmmmm.... nope. Doing something else.
I play at peak times, when the majority of people play. Again, this is all a testament to you saying people don't run it. People run it. And I'm sorry, but unless you work 7 days a week, there's at least 1 or 2 days you can play at peak time.
How about making the new CT2 more viable? I've not done it since a week after the patch. Outdated content is outdated.
It's still really good for Myth. But often the parties I join up with are really bad and drag the run down.
Zantitrach
I never said it wasn't run, what I actually said if you had read it, that when the third part is added I doubt it would be run
And you then went on about how I was exaggerating queue times as your most was 45mins, without you taking into account different data centers, or what time played.
Nice to be rude to a stranger you have never spoken to before!
Have a nice day
I have to say I kinda like CT tower more than ST. ST is just a mess, but theres a degree of organization that needs to be done in CT that isn't present in ST.
I.Never.Once.Said.You.Were.Exaggerating.Queue.Times. NOR did I call YOU out specifically about exaggerating queue times.
Also, let me flip this around on you since you keep throwing it out there.
Well it sure is nice how you went on about it taking so long on queue times and becoming ignored comment without you taking into account different data centers, or what time played.
See how much sense that makes?
Please read. Also. Note not once was I "rude". Heck, I didn't even call YOU specifically out on it. You're the one who is making it personal by continually calling me "snide" and "rude", and all I did was disagree to the thought in general, not your specific experience.
Having said that, I will say........Get your facts straight. Especially when they're presented specifically in a thread you're addressing.
You presume to know a lot about other people's schedules and what they can do. The facts of my personal expeeience are that most content takes me 10 minutes or less to queue for as a WHM (usually less than a minute). In the several timea I have queued for CT I only had the patience to wait once (raid failed and abandoned). Multiple other times I have waited between 30 and 85 minutes before giving up). It is clear to me at least this is a roadblock for trying to get to ST because of the limited number of people queing.
I stand by my earlier suggestion, that to ease new players past the roadblock that is labs, is to add a story mode, where they can see all the cutscenes, and then progress to the next quest, as this is going to hit new players so hard when the third raid is out.
Also samnas I wish I could like your posts a 1000 times
So only your experience is valid for global statements? Again....others have different experiences. The fact that clearly many people are having issues with queue pops for CT indicate there is a problem with limited number of people queuing. Your experience of not having an issue does not mean there is not a problem....only that you personally have had better experiences.
