Daily hunts still need work.

So... I want to take a shower. But, I don't want to miss my damn stupid FATE Peryton, Perhaps. I know this fate well. It's one of the FATE marks that takes at least an hour to spawn. I won't have time to wait for it again tonight, which is why I'm sitting in my own filth until it spawns.

Why do some FATE marks spawn back to back while others can have you waiting 1-2 hours? When they were first introduced, they were worth two measly seals, but they've since brought that up to 10... and most of the time, they're still not worth doing. I once waited for a FATE and missed three A hunts because... I wanted a stupid FATE mob that was only worth 10 seals. Couldn't believe I did that.

So, here's what needs to happen. FATE marks need to drop at LEAST 30 seals to make up for people missing out on things because they're waiting for them to spawn, or you make each FATE mark spawn every five minutes. There is no reason to make a change to these spawn times, as you've made changes before. Remember when people were tired of waiting for Crystal Tower quest FATEs? Daily Beast Tribe FATEs? You made changes to those. So, please make changes to these.

Hell, even trying to make use of my time crafting Spicy Tomato Relishes while waiting for this fate isn't fun. It's time wasted that I want to use to actually play another game.

tl;dr Waiting for FATEs sucks. FIX IT!

EDIT: And of course, now that I complain about it, it pops. Now I can take my shower and wait another hour/hour and a half for the other one.

Basically anything tied to FATEs in this game is a pain. I wish they'd stop trying to shoehorn them into every aspect of the game. -_-

I think it's also pretty amazing that the weekly hunt is easier to do than the dailies.

This obviously needs to be changed still.

The FATES should go away completely from the Hunt in my opinion. They can't speed them up because then, ALL FATES needed to speed up. You know, everybody has different FATES as targets although they are on the same Server - thanks God, otherwise these FATES would be Hell because of all the players looking for the same ones.

Why not let people actually...hunt? Replace the 2 daily FATES with B-mobs and make the weekly hunt goal any A-rank, no specific one so people have a chance to hunt one of them down.

Well it's not FATEs themselves (minus the Atma phase of relic upgrades) but the fact that it's demanded that you get specific ones when the system is completely random.

I use to like fates ohh look at the world monster it's so cool how players get together to do them but after my Zodiacs and the books and a few day hunts i will not do them anymore :p there just ugly now you wanna hunt kill As your better off

My suggestion?

- Remove FATE NM's from daily hunt bills. Add B rank hunt mobs in their place to make them daily instead of weekly, and adjust their Allied Seal rewards accordingly.

- Weekly hunt bills can be A or S rank hunt mobs. These can reward a set amount of Allied Seals on top of however many you get from the enmity system when fighting them. This would help reward players who are not active in a hunt linkshell, etc. and have trouble earning the full amount of Allied Seals from killing them.

- Make FATE NM's reward a small amount of Allied Seals upon normal completion of the FATE instead of from daily hunt bills. Allied Seals could possibly replace the GC Seals normally awarded from those FATE's. This will remove the need for players to "camp" specific FATE's, and instead focus on all the NM ones that appear in the area at their own leisure.

Maybe fate dailies should have the same drop rate as rankA for logs

Start the game on PS4 -> go to the FATE place -> start remote play with the VITA -> place the VITA somewhere save in the bathroom and increase the sound volume -> take a shower -> if you hear the FATE music, run out of the shower, end remote play and play on the PS4

I got seps as one of my daily hunts, sat there for 4 hours at my ps4 reading books and killing that rumoured placeholder monster when it popped.

Fate never started, never done a single hunt since, I have better things to be spending my time doing.

It's because FATEs were only useful for leveling, back in the new days of this game, after you reached 50 they were pointless, SE does not seem to like that so they are forcing us to do them (with optional content you start), so yes in a way they are being shoved in our face because they don't want FATES to die.

I too have waited up to 4 hours for certain fates. The ones you need are almost always the ones that rarely appear, while the ones that nobody needs will appear several times over in the same time frame. Why aren't all fates treated equally with the same frequency? By making certain fates a rare occurrence, it seems like they are telling us not to do them. People who have less time than I do to play can surely not even participate, unless by chance they happen to online during those handful of minutes in the day when the fate they need is randomly available.

I wish there were more weekly monsters to hunt. FATEs are just annoying and easy to find via google or simply because you've done it. Atleast with weekly you actually have to scan the areas where it may spawn and it doesn't spawn the same place all the time.

FATEs suck!

the daily fate hunts sucks , the main issue is that no1 does fates anymore so fates dont rotate and stay there until timer runs out....u can pop the fate faster if u do fates, but if u are on the other side of the zone and some1 is waiting for your fate....u are out of luck , the fate will be over before u get there.

On top of that this fates are the MOST rare fates on the zone. The ones that pop once in a blue moon , why SE decide to go with those fates for DAILY hunts? ,is something that i wont ever understand.

i do my elite hunt and move on , not worth the headache of daily hunts for 4seals / 10 seals lol

It should be also mentioned that not every boss FATE have a long respawn timer.
Like the ones in Upper La Noscea, they spawn fast there.

I would say get the dailies and write the FATEs that need longer than 1 hour on a personal blacklist. If you get these FATEs the next time you know then already not to wait for them.

Don't take a shower, problem solved. I found that a lot of problems happen when I take showers, that's why I've stopped taking them all together now. I've got used to the smell, and things are so much easier for me. I never miss anything going on, and I never have to worry about changing my clothes even if they're not that dirty, so usually I wear the same clothes for a few weeks.

Seriously though, I agree with removing FATE NMs as part of the daily hunts and replacing them with B Ranks for 10 seals each and then giving us a B/A/S rank for the weekly with a reward based on the rank, or a flat 50 as it is now.

I agree with you for the point about replacing FATE NM by rank B.

Something like this should be used :

daily quest -> rank B target instead of FATE boss (or only Rank B, I think it is still less time consuming, more fun and more related to "real" hunt to find 5 rank B than waiting +1h for a FATE)
week quest -> rang A target

or something else like this to include all rank NM:

daily -> rank B target (since they are not too hard to find since we cannot anymore farm them)
2 week quest (I mean 2 quests a week available) -> A target
1 week quest -> S target

For the rank S since those are difficult to find maybe a quest asking only to kill one without asking for a specific one.

Or something like to currently find evidence of the target in the area by findind and interacted with footprint for example in order to summon the boss like in treasure map for example. You will need to get a full party to do it. The rank S could still be able to be found "normally" and earn token (like it is the case for rank A and S), but the one from your quest will only appear for you and your team and will give you full token and maybe some to your party. This will encourage group activity and could be a nice addition to what I can do in the world beside donjon with my FC.

This will add more posibility and more diversity to hunt quest and some challenge (figthing a rank S with only a full party without being annoying by anyone).

The "go play something else while you wait and just keep eye on fate sound" doesn't really cut it, you shouldn't have to go play another game while waiting on something to do in this game. Defeats the purpose of playing XIV if your tabbed out doing other stuff due to a poorly implemented system.
I have personally given up on the dailies since it's usually always a pain fate (bellyfull & the MD malboro one last night)
Strip fates out of hunt system, make the B ranks a daily since let's be frank their easier to do than the fates and as suggested make A rank the weekly

It's very easy, just get rid of FATES with long pop timer from daily hunt, or just reduce their timer to 5 minutes repop time, problem solved. Daily reward is still pitiful however, really bad. They should give us at least 15 myth and 5 soldiery with every mark on daily bills. We should be getting 45 seals with our daily. 315+50 = 365 a week is decent number, you can't still get anything worth a damn but it's a start. And please add dungeon Boss + Primal to the daily hunts and give us 15 seals from it. This will give us more incentives to do duty roulette....And add allied seals to DEAD as doornails main mission stuffs - new players are having a lot of troubles getting Cape Westwind done as it is now.

This part could work if the reward was so low that people didn't spam them (ie. 1-3 seals per FATE)...

This one is my favorite. Gets rid of the trash "hunts" and gets you out there actually hunting the rather lonely B ranks.

I for one would prefer FATEs over B-rank mobs. Yes, they take forever to pop, but I can craft (and get the cooking and cleaning done IRL!) while waiting. With B-rank hunts I need to actually ride around the zone and pay attention. I've found them very frustrating and definitely wouldn't want to have to do them daily, let alone twice a day.

Your missing the point, to enjoy a game you shouldn't have to go do activities not related to the game

Add Allied Seals to;

Grand Company Levequests.
Regular Levequests if a notorious target spawns and is defeated.
Guildhests; also add some Lv50 Guildhests.
Various FATEs, like Northern Thanalans Chimera.
The Challenge Log.

Except for the Challenge Log, between 4~10 Allied Seals per would be good.

TBH, daily hunts is still not worth it IMO.
The weekly hunt adjustment was a good step though. I hope they will gather their data, see how often the daily hunts are performed and adjust it accordingly.

Doing A's and S' is still the way to go, for casuals and hardcorers alike.

Who cares? If past updates are anything to go off, 2.4 will add a crafted version anyway.

Half the server is already running around in i110 when they probably can't even down T5 without paying for it, so honestly, who cares if they make i110 even easier? At least the content I suggested actually has you doing more than spamming Medica for i110.

I'm okay with this suggestion as well. My only concern is that B ranks would start getting overcamped, but if they keep their current spawn rates and players are willing to help each other, I think it could work.

I also like this suggestion because I feel that it would make a lot of the less popular content more relevant. I've been advocating that leves aren't really worth doing much anymore, especially once you've got all of your jobs to 50. Having leves reward things like Tomestones or Allied Seals after you've hit 50 would make them a bit more desirable, although hunting A and S rank mobs in a large player group would probably still be faster at this point.

Adding Allied Seals to the Challenge Log would also be a nice passive way to earn them while doing other things. This could be tied into hunting the existing B, A, and S ranks, or with completing a certain number of NM FATE's... maybe even something as simple as "kill 100 enemies of comparable level to your own."

Another thing they could do is expand the existing Hunting Log to accommodate the B, A, and S ranks, as well as the FATE NM's, and then have Allied Seal rewards for killing each mob for the first time. There could also be an achievement reward of some sort for defeating all of them, like the existing Hunting Logs have.

Pretty much this. They should swap the daily and weekly hunts and adjust the rewards. Doing a shout in zone to find the B rank (or just finding it yourself since it's always up) is really easy. Currently I ignore the daily hunts unless I happen to be running by one because it's STILL not worth it for the fates given the potential time invested waiting for a specific fate vs. reward.

Here is one of my ideas for potential changes to how Hunts work.
I have put notes in blue italics below my proposed changes.

Daily Hunt Bills are changed to the following:
- 1 set of high level mobs, 3-5 mobs of that type per set. Awards 5 Allied Seals for the set.
- 1 B Rank Hunt Mark. Awards 5 Seals.
- 1 Fate Boss monster. Awards 10 seals.
- 1 A Rank Hunt Mark. Awards 20 Seals to anyone with the Bill and anyone in their party.
- Completion of the entire Daily Hunt Bill. Awards 10 seals.
- Totals seals earned = 50.

This spreads out what you are finding to provide variety as well as removes A Marks from the open to anyone pool to help minimize the Hunt Mark "Zerg Swarm" that is causing so much animosity in the game.
Making it so that A Marks give rewards to the Bill holder plus their entire party rewards players working together towards a common goal.
How I see this happening is a person with a bill goes to an area and finds his A Mark. Since he cannot solo it, he then asks over chat for people to form a party with him to assist. People wanting the rewards from the mark offer their assistance, group up with him. They kill the mark and everyone is rewarded
The completion of the entire bill reward is extra incentive to do the parts of the bill that you may normally skip over such as the FATE Boss mark.

Weekly Hunt Bill is changed to the following:
- 1 S Rank Hunt Mark. You receive standard kill rewards for S Rank, additional seal rewards are given through Bill completion).
- Completion of the Weekly Hunt Bill (automatic since there is only one Mark to kill). 50 seals.

The Weekly Hunt Mark is simply changed from an A Mark to a S Mark and yields greater reward.

Standard Rewards for Killing Hunt Marks:
- B: None unless you have the Mark Bill (see above for Hunt Bill rewards).
- A: None unless you have the Mark Bill (see above for Hunt Bill rewards).
- S: 50 Allied Seals, 100 Mythology Tomes (reduced from 200), 20 Soldiery Tomes (reduced from 40), any additional Seals from the Weekly Hunt Bill completion, small percent chance that you may get a Blood-spattered Tome.

B Marks and A Marks are now tied to Daily Hunt Bills while the Tome rewards for S Marks have been reduced so that S Marks are more of a supplementary way to get Tomes and not the primary (due to ease) way to get Tomes.

Other Changes and Tweaks:
- Add a weekly cap of 500 Allied Seals. May be removed later when new gear and currencies for getting that gear become available.
Right now Allied Seals are one of the ways to acquire top-tier gear (excluding High Allagan) yet it does not have a cap to it such as the Soldiery Tome cap or the lock-out for ST or SCoB.
It makes it extremely exploitable and breaks the precedence of gating gear progression that SE has established with all other top-tier gear. While adding a cap may potentially reduce the number of players that are doing S marks, I foresee a good number still doing them for the Tome rewards as well as the chance of getting the Blood-spatter Tome drop.
- A Ranks and S Ranks may need a reduced respawn time.
This is to accommodate for A and S Ranks being tied to Mark Bills as it would suck if you miss out on potentially being able to do them due to it not spawning or not spawning enough.

Overall the goal of my changes is to make it easier to obtain seals using the Hunt Mark Bills while lessening the Hunt Zerg rush and maintaining a paced gating mechanism for upgrading gear using Allied Seals.
Using the proposed Seal Rewards that I have laid out a person could pretty much reach their weekly cap of 500 by doing their full Daily Mark Bills everyday and then their Weekly Mark Bill.
((5+5+10+20+10)*7)+(50+50))= 450 leaving it a few short of cap where you could make up for the difference by helping others with A Marks or doing S Marks.
At 500 seals a week a person would be able to either upgrade one Accessory piece of gear (right side) per week or two main gear pieces (left side) every three weeks.

I also really liked the suggestion of adding something to do with Hunts to the Challenge Log and giving additional Allied seals through that as a reward.

You know, pardon me for being gross, but I was actually taking a shit while waiting for Tower of Power, I think it was. An Animus book FATE. It actually popped while I was wiping up. TMI, but you see why it's not really ideal to take your Vita in the bathroom with you. And besides, even with the sound all the up, I'd doubt I'd here it over the rush of water.

I don't think they'd be overcamped. With the 5 second spawn rate, and if they can only get rewards once a day, no one's going to keep hunting the same mark over and over.
