I was wondering if it's possible for the developers to put other final fantasy battle game(theme) music into FF 14. Like example do a random fate get FF13 battle theme disc and go change the BGM music for random encounters.

Yes please, I'm sick of hearing the same battle theme remixed in each zone.
I think Gilgamesh's battle actually uses the FF6 battle music. But I support this, I would leave to hear more FF music repurposed into this game. ^^
I hear you on that. I know you can mute the music but really tho I just want to hear some other FF music . Just some of the tracks I wish they would add.
1. Will to fight- Final Fantasy 13
2. Chaos-Lighting Returns
3. Sabers Edge- Final Fantasy 13
Just some songs I hope they add to BGM tracks.
I think it'll be nice if they add remix battle themes from other games. I would love a remix of the FF9 game like this.

I believe CT uses FF3 music too!
But yeah...I want this song
in this game.

I'd be happy with the old tracks from 1.0 (twilight over thanalan please!!). But I wouldn't mind rocking out to the Besaid island jam either.
There's all kinds of bgm from older FF games in here already. Hell there's even the old 8 bit victory theme somewhere. A lot of it has just been updated/remixed/re-engineered.
My bad for not specifying on what I mean . When I said "Can we get BGM from other final fantasy games" I meant add a jukebox system so that players can set themes but certain encounters. Like a setting on the jukebox"Music for fates", "Music for Limsa" ," Music for a certain dungeon" etc. Just add BGM tracks to fates or something for us to collect and we can put it in the jukebox. That's what I meant sorry for the miss understanding .
We need Jeuno and Ru'Lude Gardens Yoshi.. You know that stufff needs to be in here! :D
Give me overworld, Into the Darkness for caves, and the battle themes from FF4 and I'd be set lol.
If they price it right i might buy lol.
Not a bad idea though I will settle for this when they release the Gold Saucer in FFXIV:

*gasp*
Gilgamash's battle uses Gilgamesh's battle theme from every game that he appears in, A.K.A. "Battle on the Big Bridge" Sometimes referred to as "Gilgamesh's Theme".
I do like the FFIII music they redid for CT and stuff, it would be cool to have even more orchestral versions of older FF songs in the game.
Golbeze's theme, and a reason for it to be playing. That way there's a sense of dread when you actually hear it.
Give me "The Landing" from FFVIII and I'll be pleased as punch.
I agree that theres a lot of BGMs thats reused on boss fights as an example, however I rather they didnt resuse BGMs from other FF games, I want to hear new stuff entirely, please give credit where credit is due, a composers job is to create music and thats their talent, let them do their job and not someones elses.
As odd as it may seem. There'd be licencing/permission issues in using older Final Fantasy game music without express permission.
Without the express consent and proper procedures they can't actually use a lot of the old designs/content most especially something as solid as the music, as it's simply not theirs to use, regardless of the fact they share the same title.
If you recall when SOKEN went home one night and re-created Terra's Theme for ARR, (without permission) he was in a fair bit of trouble for it, (for which he apologized) but as a treat they decided to seek temporary permission to use it in a promotional video.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masayoshi_Soken
Soken is the one in charge of music in FF14, I know of the composer you speak of, he did 1.0, but not most of 2.0 stuff, this is sokens work and he hasnt really been in charge of the music of the older FF games.
Yeah, Nobuo Uematsu did the early music for FFXIV version 1.0 but ended up being replaced as composer by sound director Masayoshi Soken, with a number of other tracks composed by Ryo Yamazaki, Naoshi Mizuta and Tsuyoshi Sekito. And as has been said, a number of tracks from past FF games have appeared in form or another in ARR. This is a short list of the ones I'm aware of:
Battle I from FFII (a remix titled Battle 1.X)
Battle II from FFIII (a remix titled Tumbling Down)
Crystal Tower from FFIII (a remix that appears as the BGM for Syrcus Tower)
Battle with Gilgamesh from FFV (a remix titled Battle on the Big Bridge Reborn)
Feast of the Ladies from FFXI A Shantotto Ascension (a remix titled Reign of Pain)
Blinded by Light from FFXIII
Saber's Edge from FFXIII
There is also a remix of Terra's Theme from FFVI that SE used in a promotional trailer showing the magitek armour mount before launch which a petition is going around to convince SE to actually be used in the game as the mount music for the magitek armour.
I wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming Gold Saucer also features a remix of the eponymous theme from FFVII as well. ;) But yes OP, I'd love to see some kind of jukebox mode be added to the game for company/personal housing. :)
Ohhh that's right...and Uematsu isn't a Square-Enix employee anymore and was smart enough to maintain control over his IPs so he can make money off the concerts.
Shrewd, but a bit of a bummer. Would've liked to have Terra's Theme play when we mount up the Magitek.
By all means the producer who makes music for FF14 is good. Like the titan theme music and stuff but if they want us to run the same stuff over and over . At least let me have the option to change the BGM.
Here's some songs I want int hsi game
From the XIII trilogy:
From the Ivalice games:
- Crimson Blitz (since Blinded by Light is already used by the Lightning event, also I feel that Crimson Blitz is better)
- Eclipse -Aggressive Mix-
- The Sunleth Waterscape (yes it's a bit too calm for battles, but I think it can add a different feel to them that way)
- Etro's Champion
- Esper Battle (preferably for future Ascian fights)
- The Cerobi Steepe (same reason as Sunleth)
- The Mosporean Highwaste
- Phon Coast
bump bump bump bump
i want Naoshi Mizuta :) , he is my favorite (tied with Nobuo for obv reasons :P)
There's a new Theatrhythm game coming out that looks pretty fun... why not get that if you just want a playlist of songs from other Final Fantasy games?
I love the original music for Final Fantasy XIV by Masayoshi Soken and others.
I want to hear more of that, barring places like Crystal Tower or Gold Saucer where throwback remixes are more appropriate.
Yes. More original music in FFXIV please. Lot's more. Sure throwback remixes are nice where they make sense. But more originality.
And frankly Theathythm can't get out soon enough hehe.
Worst thing about this game is that it has almost no final fantasy music ( music composed by uematsu ). Imho, this has done heavy harm to any chance of this game ever actually feeling like final fantasy. Oh well, I think they now this and are gradually gonna add some more uematsu.
There is plenty of Final Fantasy music not composed by Uematsu...
I think this ties back to the "good ol' days" where FF wasn't as anime-influenced. As well as hate for the games after that era (VII first, then VIII, then X, then XII, and finally XIII). Thought Nobuo Uematsu did compose for most of the later gamer, if even partially, his music is generally associated with the first final fantasy games (and due to Spehiroth, this association ends at VII instead of VI)
Expect new music, from expansions. FF14 is still an infant. Give it some time.

This is actually incorrect - a great deal of ARR's OST is composed by Uematsu, both the tracks he originally did for version 1.0 that have returned (like the rental chocobo theme Bo Down, the dungeon final boss theme Nemesis, the Hullbreaker Isle theme Horizons Calling, the Garlean Tribuni boss theme Steal Reason, the Garlean theme Imperial Will, the Ascian theme Without Shadow, to name a few), and traditional FF series tracks like the Prelude and Final Fantasy that have been remixed by Masayoshi Soken. And let's not forget the theme song for FFXIV itself too, ala the haunting Answers.
I think you're confusing FFXIV ARR with FFXIII which indeed had virtually zero Uematsu tracks in it, save for the chocobo theme.
You know I was actually thinking this myself.
I thought wouldn't it be cool to have a edit option for BGM for each zone so that not everyone would have the same tune.
Almost like on Playonline where you can change the BGM theme out of a list of songs.
Though for FFXIV make a list of songs from old titles for zones and choose which BGM you want to hear even battle themes.
Though keeping dungeon music the same just something for the outside.
I was thinking of this because of Disgaea always has that BGM editor when you do 10 floor climbs in the item world
Though I doubt SE would do something like this because they will say something like.
Each song was set for that world or that character almost like the theme for terra magitek armor.
