How much do you think personal housing will be?

I am trying to figure out a good amount to save up to get a personal house. Does anyone have any ideas or heard anything about how much they should cost?
Have we been given much info on them? Will there be different sizes and wards like FCs are now?

I really really want one but I am not sure how much gil I should need. Since personal rooms are 300k, I am having a bit of a hard time extrapolating how much a full house is worth from that.

Don't quote me on this since I can never be bothered to watch the live letters to have confirmed it, but the figure dropped was 800k.

They said 850k in live letters as I recall.

yup , it was said 800 , but save 1m to be sure :D (more of that i thing small will be like 1m /mid 3~5m/ large 7~10m , or they maybe only small';s for personal housing idk)

It should be tiered like FC housing with the smallest ones affordable and the largest ones in the several millions at least.

Speaking of personal houses, i'm wondering if demand for FC houses will go down as a result.

After reading that a while back, I assumed it would be about 2 million for a small house. Given that prices go by the price houses sell for when wards are first released.

Yup, expect this to be the same "We feel there's too much Gil in circulation." "fix" that FC Housing was. Heaven forbid something added for fun be something that is open to the player without a king's ransom in either time or Gil. The single worst thing SE could do is price this along side of FC Housing.

Lead Planner Komoto, please make personal housing cheaper and more affordable for all! And please don't charge us legacy server people crazy prices, not all of us are rich. ><

The Gil sink in 2.0 was terrible and the legacy FC housing prices were very very terribad.

I hope this time round, you will have the foresight to set the personal housing at a much cheaper rate for the majority to enjoy!

I think they confirmed there will be features exclusive to FC houses. I also think they confirmed that airship building would be exclusive to FC houses.

No. because Personal Housing won't have access to chocobo stables from what I know of the devs' ambitions. Plus airship building as mentioned above.

Source? I'm sure personal houses can have a stable. A chocobo is something personal, not a big FC project like airship.

Not sure if it was outright confirmed recently, but when asked about other methods of chocobo raising instead of being tied to FC housing, Yoshida said they were looking into adding chocobo raising options to NPCs. He never said they were going to include them in personal housing.

150k to purchase, 300k to build, 450k to enable advanced decorations, 600k to increase house size, 750k to increase decoration amount and 900k to make it glow.

I have full faith that this is what will happen.

The only use a stable on your personal property would serve would be for coloring unless they changed how the raising works. The raising is designed so your FC mates help you out by earning your bird experience while you aren't on. I suppose they could set up an automated system like XI has where you preprogram a feeding/care routine... That might entice the solo people with FC homes to ditch them for a proper personal home so actual FCs can use the FC plots... In any case the small FC houses are barely 2 mil if that so I can't see a small personal home going over a mil.

I think they will do like with the FC housing, and reveal that there are different prices for the pots of land depending on the gil circulating on the servers, then get the prices to drop down slowly after release.

But if they add the option of the FC personal rooms to have a garden, I think I'll probably by myself my room finally and ignore personal housing for the time being, unless they release it with the ability to actually store things in the furniture.

Somewhere arround 3 to 5 million, 7 to 10 for legacy.

I see many people here discussing "sizes" of the personal houses but so far I've not seen a single official comment / mention of the fact that there would be more than one size of personal houses ... On what exactly are you all basing your expectations / assumptions of having multiply sizes? If anyone have any (speck of) official info please link to it here. Thank you.

Personally I believe there will be only one size (or at least at start for sure). I expect (hope) the cost to be around 2 mill and to include option to put up at least one garden patch (preferably two though) - that's at the moment only think I'm interested in regarding personal housing unless there will be some exclusive (non-vanity) content not available via FC housing. I'd hope for the prices to be the same accross all the servers but if not I'm at least not on the top tier server so ...

I'm hoping it'll be somewhere in the 1 to 2 million range. If it starts higher then I also hope for a steady, periodic drop like they did with FC housing. As for different sizes, I'm also leaning towards there only being one size versus the multiples available to FCs. And for god's sake, please let me have my own garden. Fighting for garden space isn't fun. -_-

Perhaps they could implement a single starting size personal house for everyone to have a chance at owning their own home, and then give players the option to top-up more in the future to increase number of floors/room/space.

The additional purchases can be done via an npc, giving SE the ability to temporarily halt these top-ups should there be insufficient server space.

But I doubt SE will implement such a thing, and will instead just sell 3 sizes of housing gated behind exorbitant prices that will slowly decrease over time. ._.

As if they gonna build a thousand personal houses, it's impossible for the server, think about why we just have 6 ward for FC housing.

New small FC house costs 4m.

If they got different size like FC houses,
I think small would be 1~2mio
medium 4~5,
large 5~10+,

tbh I don't really expect them to make them for low costs if they want to get rid of the money ingame. :/

This is how FFXIs housing was done and its probably going to be the same. Heck FC housing is already done this way.

HOWEVER
you will not be able to access your house until you have a "front door key" the key is obtained via a random 1% rng chance drop from coil t9, which must then be desynthed to obtain a 5% RNG chance item, which is then used by 3-star master crafters to create your "front door key"

these keys will sell for upwards to 20mil each on the market board.

lol, how much ya got? Because I really dont think YoshiP got the memo about all the complaints regarding the ridiculously expensive FC housing (or laughed maniacally at them). Dumb as it sounds that personal housing might cost the same (or more) as FC housing, I wouldnt doubt they'd take advantage of the demand because, you know, "gold sinks."

Personally I think they should just do it like Wildstar has. Your own little instanced property where you can go crazy placing all kinds of crap into. No it doesnt need to be some manufactured personal floating island (even though magic floating islands kind of fit with FF). I mean look at THIS thread

Its unbelievable what players have done. And the best part is its dirt cheap to start. By level 15(?) you have your own land, and a basic starter home. Yet the system is so deep and complex that players have WANTED to spend tons of gold buying parts to customize it to their liking.

THIS is how housing is done SE!!! This is what players prefer. What you have now is just a slightly improved copy of the LOTRO housing, and those became ghost towns really quickly.

I could have sworn reading an interview where they stated that Personal Housing would be done similar to FFXI's (and something related to the word moogles?)

Yup. The game may not be to everyone's taste, and the bugs just kill it for most, but they have by far the best housing system I have ever played. Ive only ever heard of some comparable ones like Star Wars Galaxies and DCUO, I think.

Mog House? You had a moogle in the center who would allow you to access your storage as well as place furniture around. The moogle would give 3 quests to expand the storage space.

They were also free

I would think they go for about 50-75% of the original fc house costs, in order to reduce the need of many wards and relieve stress on said wards being made, since Yoshi himself stated 850k wasn't going to be enough for a house, that's already near the 50% mark once a small drops after set time in pricing.

But then again, who knows for about 2 and half more weeks before we might see the details. Just keep saving.

Can't imagine if SE uses the current system for Personal Housing, even better if the district for personal is the same as for FC.. oh that'd be terribly useless.

Pipe dream is we get a way to unlock a pocket of the void, or some aether plane (Mother Crystal loves us and gives us a home?). And then it could logically explain being able to change environment, and growth of the land. Also that way you could make little towns of your own with your FC which I think would be -the- best.

Making a town system might be way too much to ask for, but I don't think asking for a way to organize housing bubbles together or using a similar system we have now but dedicated to FC would be too much to ask. That way personal houses do not create a void of use from the free company house, and the free company house doesn't make the personal house feel useless (because they're all together).

Sadly I expect SE to look at things and go... "Gee, a few people have eleventygazillion Gil on their characters, we should price housing very high to remove that money from circulation", thereby screwing those who dont have a King's ransom in their pockets.

They seem to constantly add things that are easy/affordable for the filthy rich, and leave very little (if anything) for the people who arent hoarding vast fortunes.

I'm doing my best to hold out until 2.4 and see where SE is taking this train at that point. IMHO they've been screwing the moogle pretty hard with every patch since launch, but a good housing patch and new class could redeem them.

Sadly, I dont have high hopes based on their track record to date. :(

EDIT - And yes, Wildstar is housing done right. But, SE is good at taking things other games do well and screwing them up completely.

I went back and researched this interview. He was actually describing Personal Rooms within an FC House. They are very similar to FFXI's housing model -- it's an instanced room within a zone where you can place your own furniture. As far as Personal Houses, it's still up for debate and speculation:

It is important to note that Siliconera has a summary, while Slycer's (and Reinhart's second) translation is directly from the Famitsu transcript that they put out after the interview, so it's verbatim. Reinhart's translation was done live, so it is of course very short and terse, though it picked up the meat of the topic. In all three instances it is implied that it's land that will be purchased, not an instanced room in a zone (like Personal FC Chambers or FFXI Mog Houses). In Slycer's translation it also implies that the cost will be much higher than 850k, while the Siliconera summary seems to be a misinterpretation of Yoshi-P's interaction with Takai. This is ironically left out of Slycer's translation because Famitsu focused more on the subject matter than the in-jokes Yoshi-P and his team like to add to their interviews and Live Letters. Slycer's translation is also more relaxed natural while Reinhart's is more rigid and direct, however both translations gets the point across.

Despite this aged information, there won't be an instance that makes everyone happy. If it's instanced like FFXI, people will complain that personal houses lack personality. If it's like FC housing, people will complain that houses aren't it's not big enough or too expensive, or both.

Of course this was all in April so their plans could have changed, but it's highly unlikely.
