2.35 - Possibility of Prelim Patch Notes?

Heya! I've noticed that, on-and-off, there have sometimes been preliminary patch notes that get shown, like, a day before the patch goes live. I would like very much if we could see some of these for 2.35, especially since 2.35 doesn't really seem to have been a big conversation topic this time around, whereas 2.15 and 2.25 were almost as big of a deal as the actual content patches.

I need my hype fix, man, and there are only three days left!

Doesn't usually happen with small patches, unfortunately.

According to a recent interview, there are Hunt-related changes in 2.35. Releasing the patch notes early in this case would do more harm than good.

While I know they won't say I really hope it isnt a total nerf, leaving content so long for progression and then cutting it down will hurt those who were already considered stragglers (opportunity to catch up becomes harder). If it a buff.. then the next ilvl tier must be pretty good lol.

We'll see though soon enough I suppose XD

Oh, I get omitting the potentially damaging stuff and saving that for the ACTUAL patch notes, but I just remember how, in past X.X5 patches, they've managed to slip in minor content things that didn't make it into the previous X.X patch, like the Ixali Beast Tribe content and things like that, and had them in the preliminary patch notes in all of their hype-tastic glory.

Well 1 of the reasons probably due to preventing disappointment. Imagine they say they adding in xyz, but xyz caused some issues with server stabilty and they did not add xyz in.

We can, at the very least, postulate that the oft talked about increase to the seals acquired through daily mark bills may happen in 2.35. As for a potential nerf... while I am in the camp who thinks that it absolutely must(not should, must) be nerfed, others also have a good point when they claim that it's too late to do anything now. It's been left in this overprofited state for so long that cutting it down now would piss off people for more reasons than just decreasing the profit.

I see no problem with taking all of the allied seals dropped by elite marks and slapping them onto the daily/elite mark bills instead. On a personal note, I really want allied seals to drop from Frontlines as that would make storyline sense, but that's just me.

The amount of items they could actually divulge on prelim. patch notes for this patch is probably small enough to not make it worth it. The Hunt adjustments are one. The rundown atm though is essentially Hunt adjustments, Ixali Beast quests, Glamour in PvP, Full Alliance queuing (Finally), misc. FL adjustments. Given the Ixali will revolve around crafting I can see why they may not want to release any details on it, we don't need a patch notes saying Glamour is enabled or 24-man queueuing. They NEVER release any kind of balance adjustment in prelim notes so that means no details on the FL stuff. Not a whole lot to put in the Notes.

They could easily slip in the Beast Tribe quests, PVP Glamours, Alliance Queue, and other new content things. All they'd have to do is omit the system fixes. Wouldn't need to be seventeen pages long to be justified.

i myself been here since beta and find it quite disappointing they don't have regular official patch notes posted a couple days prior to the patch for something to talk about, even if it isn't the full patch note release. Some patched they do and others like this they don't release it until the morning the patch is released... which is kind of disappointing as i rather be playing the game instead of reading patch notes the next morning.

Depends on point of view,they release full notes during the maintenance. I will be at work so a nice reading will be welcome, and back home to enjoy the game :)

My understanding was the "changes" were to improve rendering for overpopulated hunts. Not so much changing mechanics or rewards.

But it's all speculation right now.

Should read through that thread, watch the video too. I bet it's going to be in the opposite direction of rendering, which is a server issue in the first place.

Basically, overpopulation is something the players created and it was totally not intended. And "seems" to be something they don't want happening.

From an interview that Yoshida had recently, he said they are withholding the patch notes in regards to the hunts because they don't want to cause people to either farm hunts even more or stop doing hunts completely until the patch is pushed out.

I'm guessing nerf since stopping hunts by the zerg wouldn't really be against what they want, increasing the zerg would be.

I couldn't remember what was supposed to be in this patch at all so asked my FC and got "hunt changes and chocobo dying" and then a conversation about what hunt changes may be coming. I don't typically do hunts and my birds look fine the way they are so this was looking to be a patch I wouldn't get anything out of. No one mentioned Ixali dailies which I've been eagerly awaiting. Yay if they really do come out today ^_^

I'd be pretty surprised if we get the new beast tribe quests. They usually hype that up a bit more with some screenshots beforehand.

Well it is all but confirmed that the Ixali content is coming in 3.5. That's why I'm baffled at the lack of prelim patch notes to advertise that.

Umm...as in not the main patches. It doesn't matter how much they're fixing, what I said is true, they don't generally release preliminary patch notes for the 2.xx patches, just the main ones.

Probably because it's not a hugely relevant part of the game, nor a substantial amount of side content, but rather just a small portion added to side questing. Then there's probably the aspect that this new beast tribe questline is going to involve crafting, so they probably don't want people to really feel like they need to start buying up things without even knowing what exactly is in store for them. The less we hear about it, the less likely people begin to feel a sense of urgency to gain some sort of advantage.

To be fair, the Ixali Beast Tribe quests are literally the wrap-up to the entirety of the Beast Tribe quests. To say it's not hugely relevant to the game would be to say that the third part of the Crystal Tower would not be hugely relevant to the game, or Third Coil.

But these are generally considered to be side content to the majority player base. I don't think I've met anyone that would consider things like Coil and CT to be equally relevant with beastmen daily quests. I get the fact that it's closing up the questlines, but it's still essentially side quests/content. Sort of like how people would view Hildibrand quests. I absolutely love that questline, but I would never consider it as important for the game as things like new progressive raids, and I don't even do things like Coil lol.

Even if we were to simply look at the storyline of those raids, they do tie in with the main story in a somewhat meaningful way. However, just like Hildibrand, the beastmen questlines don't really have much to do with the main parts of the games story. Honestly, I would not expect a whole lot more than what we would see for any beastmen story. The followup after finishing them all looks to probably be something that's just for fun, like Hildibrand (the trailer is kind of evidence of that). Mind you, I'm very much looking forward to this, but I really don't see a point to the prelim notes for something like this.... it's just the feeling of curiosity poking around really.

Well the last time they are THIS quiet was at Amdaptor Keep and Wanderer palace nerf speed run so be prepare for the wprst and give no regret on hunt.
