Suggestion for Hunts - "Hunting License"

My suggestion to improve the current hunt system:

The hunt master in each zone will now sell a unique untradeable item called "Hunting License" specific for that zone - costing 300 myths. This license entitles you to kill a single B, A, and S mob in that zone. If you do not possess this license or have already killed the specific-rank mob on your current license, you cannot even attack the target. If you want to hunt the mobs in that zone again, you will need to purchase another license. You must purchase a license for each zone you want to hunt in.

"Reset" of mob can only occur if the mob has not been attacked for 10 seconds. HP reset will not occur as long as at least one eligible person is attacking it.

You've created a complicated and grindy solution for something that can be resolved in a lot of very simple ways... SE will love it!

Really? This is "complicated" to you lol? Seems pretty simple and straightforward to me. I'm guessing your "simple" solutions involve "caps",etc. - but I think a lot of people are getting tired of all the artificial "caps" that are already in place in this game currently.

I believe my suggestion would solve a lot of the current problems immediately. By associating a cost to hunts, people won't be able to spam hunts non-stop without doing other content to replenish myths. Requiring a hunting license per zone would pretty much eliminate the mass teleportation of roaming zerg-mobs from zone to zone. I think hunting would become more in line with what hunting was initially envisioned to be.

Heh, I kind of like the Hunting License idea. If you want to take it into a more realistic direction, make it so killing things "out of season" or "over your limit" gets your a fine, penalty, or suspension of license XD Sure, it's a lockout and cap system respectively, but hidden behind different words and concepts.

no, it is not complicated, just stupid

a simple solution it to use what we have already ingame like:

- hunting log (create a version for Hunt target only)
- rare target from leves
- boss FATE

it was soo simple to avoid the zergfest we have now... by simply add more than one way to get the mark. it seems SE miss the point that most server are overpopulated...
oh, by the way, for me when you create a feature for function in a way, and people are forced to do it differently, this feature is a FAILURE!
the fact that we are forced to zerg prey for hope have some credit when they are means to be killed in group of 4,8, many group (i still wait to know how many group for the S) it's for me a huge failure in the feature.

the fact they can't admit that the hunt was waited by the whole community as a new main activity that can be done instead of dungeon and raid, it's... silly.

Why is everyone TRYING to "fix" hunts?

It is not broken. The fact that YOU can not enjoy hunting or can not tag mobs in time or are always too late for a specific hunt does NOT mean it is broken.

Are hunts a bit too overpowered when we look at the rewards? Hell yes they are ... but the system is NOT broken if you know what you are doing.

I too like the way the hunts are. I hope they leave it alone and just make the Hunts more visible when more people join. That's the only fix needed, in my opinion.

tell me, why do you think SE allow myth drop from NM and sand & oil ? it is to catch up for the next patch for ppl who dont do coil for ppl who do coil & dont get drop & for ppl to catch up on novus. And here your suggest is going backward. So in my opinion it is stupid. Ad insult other ppl intelligent for call your idea stupid is very intelligent indeed

if you call "targeting an invisible target" not a broken feature, yes, indeed they don't need to be fixed.

it is render issue (blame god or god of ps3 or w/e). Odin after fix can become invisible if you are not close to him

FYI, I have already spent 2 sands and have the succubus minion, and am currently sitting on enough seals/logs to get 3 more sands - and I don't hunt that aggressively either, so I'm not suggesting a fix because I'm not getting rewards lol. I guess I "know what I'm doing" but let's be honest - "knowing what you're doing" with hunts simply involves being in a hunt LS that's networked with other hunt LS's that relay pops to each other, and then mass teleporting from zone to zone to zerg down targets, and keeping track of which zones have A-ranks that are "up".

Problem is this feels very artificial and frankly silly with 100s of people moving from zone to zone and destroying mobs in seconds. Something needs to be fixed to make hunts actually feel like, you know , actual hunts.

Hey, I think you need to play this game a little less and study up on your English spelling and grammar a bit lol~ Obviously this game makes you rage easily.

And going by your ideas, hey why not just let all hunts just drop logs automatically so we get everyone geared up with i110 real quick and no one will be complaining at all about hunts in a couple of weeks because they won't be needed anymore lol? There's a quick and easy "forward" solution for you.

The problem isn't the hunt; it's the reward system. If the overinflated rewards weren't in place, the playerbase going for the hunts would be greatly reduced, and the need for better rendering or the system suggested in this thread would be completely unnecessary. But SE has proven that they're just going to ignore the issue completely and tell us it's working as intended 2-3 months from now. Good job.

They already made this change, so guess they got it wrong and needs slightly more tweaking. If they did them like Odin (where it worked) and did not work 100% then it takes time to figure out why! Make and test further changes

Make it give or take 5000 GC seals (Hunts are Grand Company based. Why not use Grand Company Seals) and you'll have my support.

Suddenly doing a lot of FATEs to hunt becomes a requirement, thus they get what they want and have a constant stream of FATEs being done which then makes the world look lively. Then the none horde hunters get what they want as the horde got their legs cut off so they can't just slaughter every NM they find, and the horde hunters weep because well they just got kicked in the d by 1000 Cooler-Bots.

The fact that it it possible to succeed at hunting if you know what you're doing has nothing to do with whether or not the system is broken. It only means you've managed to figure out how to exploit the broken system.

The rewards are completely disproportionate to the effort involved. Difficulty of the mobs is scaled far too low considering the number of people typically involved in a Hunt. With no participation limits, rendering limits are quickly reached even on powerful systems, rendering the target untouchable for many. These are just a few of the obvious problems with the Hunt system as it was implemented - and they are problems that many argue should have been EASILY spotted before the system was implemented. Especially since a number of those problems were already present in existing situations (Odin and Behemoth).
