Since it says Elite Marks, no change to Daily Hunt, since that's not about Elite Marks...
Elite Marks means the mobs themselves.
Don't think they gonna inject even more hp into mobs. They need to sort daily and weekly so them targets give you more seals . Probably you gonna need to accept the mark before you do it.
My bet is that they will lower the amount of Tomestones they give. It's the simplest and most sensible thing to do in order to avoid making all other content becoming irrelevant in terms of rewards.
Elite marks (the mobs, because the rewards have another names) could be harder to fight after it.
Would be nice if they reduce non mark hunts to almost nothing. Just to stop people overwhelming them
i don't see them increase the hp of the mark, at best reduce the reward from the elite mark while upping the dailies reward... but i doubt we will see anything really important or mindblowing!
they are still trying to make them uncomplete and badly implemented feature work... instead to admit, ok it was not adapted we will rework it...
Elite marj mobs all have twister like abilites.
* Fixed an issue where players were having fun.
Let's see...
As others have noted, Elite Marks are separate from Daily Hunts. Elite Marks are the B, A, and S Class monsters people like to kill so much. Daily Hunts are garden variety <50 monsters and some regular old FATE bosses. Unless SE is using the phrase "Elite Marks" to refer to the hunt system as a whole, I don't think Daily Hunts are being targeted yet.
The last live letter showed that SE wants to adjust Elite Marks without further increasing their health. This could mean adding additional, difficult mechanics to the fights, decreasing the reward for killing them in some fashion, making certain items more expensive or unable to be conventionally bought, or even adding a timeframe based cap on seal rewards. Or, it could mean something entirely different and potentially brilliant that we never came up with but SE managed to with their additional information on player habits.
My guess is to increase or decrease rewards from elite marks.
@Vaer: sure it's true that kill a monster means to be killed at 4 with a group of 16-60 person is fun, a lot of challenge and risk involved here.
seriously, where is the fun in the hunt in this shape?
by the way, all you do it's FATE farming, you know it?
they will disable the 'invisibility mode' that they have put on S rank by mystake =p
If I was a moderator, I would lock and erase all hunt topics, and just make two stickies entitled "Hunts are fun" and "The problem with hunts". SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is nothing particularly detrimental about the hunt system itself. The issue is that the rewards are far too great, which causes far more people to participate than the system was designed for, which causes marks to die extremely quickly, which results in toxic player behavior and metagaming that was almost certainly not considered or intended by the developers. However, the underlying system itself is fine, and believe it or not, there are people who enjoy Hunts for reasons outside of the overtuned rewards. My point was that claiming that anybody who "calls hunts fun" is flamebaiting is a really dumb thing to do.
The real problem, as usual, is players.
We should get rid of them, and everything will be fine.
Worthwhile content should be under lockout, or have steady notable daily progression with option to speed up through excessive grind. An example of the latter would be the Novus questline. Daily steady notable progression from quest that sends you into DR: Expert, with option to grind fates or myth to speed up further.
Things like relic upgrade is perfectly suitable for the latter, while pretty much anything else falls under the former where lockout is actually a better choice
the hunt system in it form is not adapted to the game... it was a demand of FF11 player and nostalgic to have NM back, but let's be honest...why add a system that will only be usable by a few of the server? and better, why give them this much reward?
it's like offer to some elitist instant gratification without risk. because kill rank B, A, S monster with 2-5 times the number of player that was made for it's instant gratification.
Hunts are *far* and away the most efficient way to farm tomestones or to gear up alternate jobs, to the point where it's basically seen by many players as a complete waste of time to do anything that isn't hunting, even if they would rather be running dungeons. If the rewards are nerfed and brought more in line with dungeons, or if dungeons are significantly boosted such that the reward-to-time-invested relationship isn't so incredibly lopsided (it should be in favor of dungeons, anyway), you will see the number of people participating in hunts drop dramatically, which means there will be less of the "OMFG BLACKLIST THAT GUY FOR PULLING WTF" bullshit, less culling on S-ranks so that people can actually fight them properly and respond to mechanics, and a slower stream of Oils/Sands/i90 gear being added to the game.
The Hunt itself, by which I am referring to the system of open claim monsters spawning around the world on semi-random timers which require a full party of players to defeat, is not detrimental to the health of the game on its own, and a lot of people have been asking for something like this. While rewards and content obviously cannot be completely separated, the toxic behavior generated by the hunt system could be dramatically reduced by simply nerfing the rewards with very few if any adjustments to the content itself.
By nature then is this "* Fixed an issue where players were having fun." an assumption on your part as well. Some are and some aren't but your blanket statement left no room for dissention now did it.
Oh wait, you were half joking, not all the way joking, or not even not joking. At this point who know really what you were doing. I honestly don't see how anyone could be confused by what you typed. /sarcasm
You call it an assumption that people read this as you stating that you believe hunts are fun. You claim that you were joking. I can certainly see the joke of "Oh, SE doesn't want the game to be fun for us! hahaha!", but that's separate from the opinion you also appeared to convey of enjoying hunts.
Unfortunately, this is the internet and we are speaking through text and not the spoken word. If you were speaking this aloud to us, it should have been obvious that you were making a joke on both of the fronts I described. Since this is text, you needed to give some visual cue that it is all a joke. A smile, a wink, "/sarcasm" appended to the end, etc.
>.> That's kind of how I imagined hunts were going to be. Don't have the mark? No credit.
But you know, that idea involved getting more than 20 seals for an elite and stuff not being 600 - 1.7k lol But it's a much better idea than people spamming them all day long
Yoshida already speak this in live letter right? so just assume base on that. Shouldn't be too hard to guess.
Personally I hope they just increase seals for daily/weekly hunts. The hunting system now seems fine, it just sucks when people pull quickly, but it's not against any "rule" they can't. For those that complain people are getting highest level gear now too quickly, apparently you forgot that 2.2 was all about raiding while non-raiders couldn't get best gear. 2.3 is about non-raiders catching up gear level wise. And what's that? Oh yeah, 2.4 is new coil new ilvl gear which makes everything pointless in terms of BiS again.
I bet the elitist are laughing now.
Because I believe they have been the ones posting, they want full control over players to get them stuff in this game, if you aren't in a dungeon for them to progress or get a piece of gear or for you to get kicked cause they think you suck its a problem to them and they'll complain about hunts till it gets a nerf.
I honestly believe this, cause all I hear it them say its messing with dungeon time, why isn't there a cap like coil and ST.
I basically like hunts, the only issue was the low hp.
now if they make the spawns span out like 1 hour people probably will stop doing them.
Doesn't matter to me anyways, SE will ruin a good thing to please the complaining people, even if it was the same people complaining over and over again.
Daily Mark regular mob = 5 seal.
Daily Mark FATE = 20 seal.
Weekly Elite Mark = 100 seal.
Hunting any Elite mark without bill = 5 seal.
Reduce all GC vanity gear cost by half.
