SE's hotfix for The Hunt:
The following adjustments have been made to “The Hunt”:
- Elite marks maximum HP has been increased.
Rank B maximum HP has been raised from solo to light party level, Rank A maximum HP has been raised from light party to full party level.
Although the Rank S maximum HP level was already intended for multiple parties, we have further raised the necessary number to require even more parties.
Similar to Odin and Behemoth, because raising the maximum HP of Rank S means stressed server loads due to the concentration of players, we plan to make ongoing adjustments as we watch the server situation.
- As the elite marks HP is increased, the amount of contribution points which affects the reward after defeating will be eased.
- S rank elite marks will have top display priority.
Because the elite marks maximum HP have been changed to reflect the party numbers required, we are also looking into adjusting the amount from the “Regular mark bills” and “Elite mark bills” reward. We will continue to make careful content adjustments as we monitor player trends and server stress loads.

Higher HP making the lowest ranked last more than a second

Considering a boost in daily mark reward (must be boost since you can't go lower than 1)
All good stuff.
Doesn't solve everything obviously, but should be easier to actually get max contribution rather than spam like mad and still end up with lowest contribution.
All these things should also serve to reduce the drama caused by hunts.
Pretty sure more changes will be forthcoming, but that could take until 2.35. These were all easy fixes. -

This hotfix, doesn't work and I know it because Naul and another A rank just spawned at my server, still die within few sec. So yea, still can't get the max rewards.

It also seems Square Enix hasn't done anything, or can't do anything, to address the appradar hack/abuse. The use of third party software will make these adjustments almost useless. Unless they make the fights last as long as Odin/Behemoth, or even half of what those fates take, the problem will persist.Quote:

I might be in the minority, but it sucks that B rank are no longer soloable. I really like the hunt because they were soloable AND groupable (if thats even a word). Sometimes, I just like to do things on my own and hunting B rank elites was one of them. I spotted and A or and S, I would shout, but Bs I would do on my own just for the challenge. I was jumped by the Giant Bee in Sylphlands a couple of days ago while doing Beast Quest and the fun part was fighting it while also fighting all the mobs that surrounded me. That was fun, but if it happened now I would have died, because it spawned right on top of me and didn't notice it until it was attacking me out of nowhere. Oh well, it was bound to happen due to all the whining. On with the show. I still like the hunt, though. Best new thing to date.

The hunts aren't even worth doing for 90% of the player population at the moment. If someone is just casually running along the chances of them ever getting the elite mark are pretty near zero given that devoted hunting groups will be on top of them most of the time. The regular hunting papers are at least somewhat pleasant to do compared to having to rerun the same dungeons and daily quests for currency, I'll give them that. Unfortunately, they still don't award soldiery or myth tomes, which kills that idea pretty darn fast.
