With 1.18 being released, what's the best way to get skill points nowadays for soloers and people who form parties?

Solo'ing/duo'ing leves is great for SP now. I get about 15k at each of the 40s camps and will pop in a behest in-between leves if we come across the battlewarden. Combine that with dungeon runs and it's excellent SP.

For solo play, levequests and sidequests combined will get you a good amount of SP.
And only some of the levequests give bad SP now, while some of them are pretty easy sauce (the R20 Gridania one with the Foraging Doe's and the Swarm of Bees comes to mind, I could solo both of those on 3 Stars once I got used to CON changes). The bees die in two or three spells and give 180+ SP each and there's a lot of 'em, the Foraging Doe's gave 200+ and there were at least 4 of them.
EDIT: SP/hour may have been reduced for solo play, but if you play 2-3 hours after that and do some party grinding/questing, you will notice that you are getting more SP than pre-patch. -

Get 50% of the community using it a party will take like 30secs to form in prime times. -
07-25-2011, 08:37 PMYumi_Hibikisorry for the late respond, we were killing pretty fast, like 30-40 seconds per mob, the respawn rate was pretty good as well, but sometimes you have a little downtime if you kill too fast. sorry i didnt really check what the sp/hr was i usually just take what i get, but i think 25k+/hr should be possible, im not much of a number cruncher. also it was alot of fun ^~^Quote:

I've been grinding mostly and need to get back into doing leves. I tried a level 15 behest solo with my level 13 pug. The SP per kill was good (300) but I couldn't beat the last two deer foes who were linked. -

Damn click n buy i was gonna log onto and try to grind random beastmen, but we have maintenance on a payment system for a game we don't pay for yet, 4 days after the patch came out >.< Not really bitching, just frustrated haha I actually wanted to play for the first time in months and grind random mobs.

SP is lower but you dont have fatigue i been able to level faster doing the same stuff.

Solo or small party can easily grind mobs still for lots of easy and fast sp (Not the most fascinating way to play I know) for 300-450 sp per mob taking around 30 sec's to a min at most to kill with 2-4 people. Tons of mobs, no downtime (Not counting dc's or mages who fail at mp management) and 20-40k sp per hour depending on pt :) Hope that answers people who had questions, feel free to /tell me on Besaid if you ever need a good grind spot ^^ Have lots of really great ones for all rank ranges Hehe
