SE you really need to do something about the queue pops for not just Frontlines but the overall system in general but moreso Frontlines since its 72 players. i have been playing since launch this morning and have only had a whopping 4 games because of people consistently not accepting the queue. I have clicked Commence to the pop only for it to cancel and see it pop 10+ more times because it will go 60 or even 71/72 and someone drops and then I get spammed with 100+ (not exaggerating) messages that ...
all of this goes on for more than 10-15 minutes and sometimes it even throws me out the queue altogether and I have to re-queue and go through the nightmare again. It's ridiculous. Not to compare this game to other MMOs but in other MMOs that i have played with pvp in them, i don't go through this. I jus click and go.Quote:

It's definitely an issue they need to figure out. This system works well enough with the standard queue of 8, but we already saw with Crystal Tower how badly it can be abused and turned into a headache. And that was only 24 players. So now we have a system established where a single player can fuck over 71 other players ad nauseam, if they feel the desire to do so. The problem with Enix's queuing system seems to me is that it finds and puts on hold certain players first.That method caters to trolls and pop cancels because its relying on those players to ready up. If their system made the queue pop so whoever doesnt click (based on an internal time clock we can't see), it cancels for only those bros who didnt accept and just rolls to the next eligible player to accept rather than waiting on certain bros. Basically, a hidden rolling queue system that initially pops for everyone and then whoever doesnt click Commence, in say like 10-15 seconds, it will just roll to the next bro to accept rather than forcing all 4, 8, 24 and now all 72 players to redo the entire Commencement all over again, increasing the chances that some other bro is just not going to click either. That way it would avoid 1 person ruining the queue for everyone, everyone would only have to click Commence once and you're also guaranteed to get in a game just from queuing once. I just don't have this problem with other MMOs I play and have millions more players than FFXIV.Quote:

when this game was so called being "reborn" they said they looked to games like WoW and others.. well in WoW if you was in a dungeon finder / que and you missed said que or declined it. it did not punish the other 71 players who want to play. SE this is a flawed system and to let this continue for as long as it has is the diffrence in your 2 million subs and your 7 mill subs get it together. the average wait time isnt how long it will take to get in the dungeon/pvp its how long you gotta wait till the troll gets out of your que roatation

This will also encourage players that WANT to actually do frontlines to queue without worries. Now if those "trolls" or people whose houses are burning down, and have to leave their computer for more than... lets say 2mins?(Like in arena) Should be removed like Normal, and given the 30 min lockout.(This will then help deter trolls, and well people that don't actually have the time to participate.) I know there is still the issue of people taping their controller or keyboard to move forward, to reset the timer. But thats where they have the "Have to engage" or you get removed in 30secs etc. Or the old WoW "Report afk" (which I hated, but helped.)
It's safe to assume there will be some upset people with legit reasons for afking, but again back to my first point "You should not be queuing up for something if you don't have the time to dedicate to whatever it is you're doing" And if you actually had a legit reason for walking away from your computer for more than 2 mins, then the lockout should not affect you, as it should take more than 30mins to do whatever it is you had to do. ie. House burning down prob take a bit more than 30mins, and a game should be the least of your worries.
I've also seen suggestions of removing the queue counter, so not to enable those trolls as much... But thats a small temp fix? that could possibly help. -

I like the idea of having a lock out timer if you withdraw, but I think there should be a "3 strikes and out" kinda deal. I'm guilty of signing up for something, going to pee/grab a beer and losing the invite. I wouldn't want to get locked out for a long time for stepping away quickly. 40 seconds is a pretty short bathroom break...unless you don't wash your hands!

I usually defend this games pvp, I had fun in wolves den long ago when the cap was 30and wait times were bearable. But damn, these wait times lately, are freaking unbelievable, worst pvp system out of any game I've ever played. It is inexcusable how for about 8 months the wait times are insane and all you do in this game is queue up and get 2 fights in maybe an hour. Very poor pvp, for such a large company, destroyed completely by wait times.

Yes this is getting frustrating. I'm constantly clicking commence 40-60 mins to get into the game session. Something should be done, the queue is always active but the problem is with those cancelling every few seconds.
How about adding the newly registered players directly to those who are commenced without reseting the queue back to 0 since it's always active? It's always stuck at 71/72 then going back to 0/72 is just a waste of time. -

In a queue for 1hr 37 mins so far, my friend logs in the FC, joins a queue for FL and gets into one before me after I've been 71/72 like 10 times...
So frustrating when I booked time off work using some of the limited holidays I get every year to enjoy Frontlines and most of my day is this. -

From what I understand about how the queuing system works, it is not the fault of one player requeuing and dropping hundreds of times, troll or otherwise, causing this but the result of 72 players queuing at once.
Consider how often you have either failed to confirm or withdrawn because of something, and realize that 71 other players are in your exact same position.
If there is a 5%* chance for someone to withdraw or timeout and 72 different "rolls" then there is a near 100% chance that someone will withdraw or timeout.
*example, not an actual statistic. -
