What did you think about this dungeon?
The msuic, the scattered notes we found and the significance of everything, from the mob names to the sounds Edda did while fighting...
Bravo SE.
(Also that last cutscene will provably give me nightmares)

Inb4 OMG DAT YANDERE
They should've cut the victory music too, frankly, to really complete.
I went in with three FC members right after servers came back up, because we'd gotten to a point where "EDDA NO" had become an in-joke in excitement for it. But man, they really went all out on that place. It just got progressively worse and worse and more disturbed, and then Edda's crazy smile right before the boss fight, and then the depressing ending. I kinda freaked out a bit when we walked towards Edda to trigger the boss cutscene, stopped, and she just laughed.
And then we got out and were like "wait there's another part to the quest" and went to go see together. ...Suffice to say party chat became filled with nothing but "NOPE" over and over from all four of us.
Ran it on Duty Finder as soon as I had unlocked it. Brilliant dungeon! It has such a great atmosphere, I'm also glad the other people in my group were stopping and taking the time to read all the notes. The fights were interesting as well, certainly kept us on our toes. Loved the build up to it as well. /clap.
Her smile at the end...
That wasn't the, "Death letting me reunite with my loved one" smile
That was the, "All according to plan" smile
i think tam tara is one of the best to date. it was really well done especially with back story and all.
Loved it. The cutscene where you turn it in was so spooky!
It's definitely the best of the 3 extreme dungeons brought out in 2.3 My Characters face during the fanfare was icing on the cake.
The glorious emotion i felt almost made me forget what a huge mess they have made of crafting and these chocobo stables... almost.
I hope they make more dungeons like that!
They clearly can do horror/creepy very well and should continue!!
I really love the story behind that dungeon (more than the dungeon itself :P)
So glad they made a proper story for once, kind of creepy as well!
*hat off to SE*
It was creepy but I did enjoy that dungeon. I was really sad for her at the end. And that smile scared me. I wonder if we are truely done with her. I hope not though.
Tam-Tara was definitely the best of the three dungeons in my opinion, and has taken over as my absolute favorite dungeon in the game, which prior to this patch, was The Lost City of Amdapor. Well done!
I just did it, but our dps wasn't good enough for last boss :(( also my gear was broken so in the end I was an ilvl 71 healer. Decided to leave the dungeon and repair and try to join the same group...
I kinda forgot that if I leave I get a 30 min penalty...
When I saw Bosses' name , I was like,
Boss 1 : !!!
Boss 2 : !!!!!!
Last boss : sadly, got spoiled by patch preview otherwise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, how did Liavanne (not sure is spell correctly) die, why did Edda take his body to Tam-tara ?
PS. Loved it.
Liavanne (who is a she) died in the main scenario story line, when the Garleans raided the Scions's headquarters.
It's sad because if you paid attention to her dialog while she was alive assisting the Scions, her feelings towards Avere become revealed , and see how she ends up in this dungeon...troubles the mind.
made me more sad, kind of a depressing dungeon, it was quite well donei give props
The story ended sad as expect with characters that decend into madness. I'm still sad we were not able to save Edda from her madness.
The end was creepy due to that Grudge Moment.
This is exactly how I want dungeons. Great storytelling SE.
The moment you start the quest to unlock the dungeon, the torn pages you find explaining Edda's decent into madness and the finale of the quest, I was impressed. Completely absorbed by the story. This is a dungeon you can't speedrun it or you'll miss the whole experience. And that final scene, is it a suggestion that this is not the last time will see Edda? Good Job Square Enix!
Not sure if anyone noticed, but the ultimate attack of the final boss is actually called "Red Wedding". However, because there's no casting bar for it, you have to read the flying text or the combat logs to know that.
Interesting easter egg there.
*Crawls under her covers and never comes out*
Nopenopenopenopenopenopenope.
While I agree with everything said so far (great story, atmosphere, music, etc.) the dungeon itself is just a linear path of trash and 3 bosses like all the other dungeons. Quite disappointing in that regard.
Watched a playthrough...
Feels bad, man.
One of the few NPCs I really cared for and wanted to get a happy ending...
Well... Maybe she can come back as a Necromancer job trainer down the line...
Necromancer... would be an interesting conjurer DD Job. And nope, not wanting her as the Job trainer. Nope. Nope.
Eh. If you slowed down to non-SR pace and take time to read folios around, it kinda feels a lot bigger.
I liked this dungeon, luckily Stone Vigil HM seems more SRable so this won't be rushed to death. I also felt it's unique in that it has more of a story tied to it than other dungeons.
Further opinion has spoilers
I also felt satisfied that edda fell off... kinda wanted to push her.
Our group couldn't clear adds fast enough... so at the last leg everyone wiped except me.
And it was only me left... everyone else died.
All because of one selfish lady.
Burn in hell, you wrench.
*goes and plays the amdapoor township music*
*edit* here guys, have some yandare pics
Not scary for me in the slightest. I laughed out loud when she did the Hildibrand smile before the final boss. Sure the atmosphere and music was set up well, but people couldn't watch a PG-13 movie if they found this dungeon that creepy.
Also, she died just like the character at the end of the DRG quest line, so that's lame.
Nice story to it, but outside of the bosses the place was pretty boring to me combat wise. Those bosses though, they truly tested you. Also, I KNOW she's coming back for another dungeon. Maybe we unfortunately have to enter the lalafell's house and finish it all, ending in a tragedy that leaves us sad, but glad we've finished this nightmare.
So I noticed she is wearing a white black mage armor, and knowing thaumaturges had a bad history with necromancy, would be cool if that comes as a new job for thm in the future.
I'm a female Lalafell. Unf... ;3
Anyway, I thought Tam-Hara hard was all around fantastic. Great story, great music, great dungeon, and dat ending...Yeah... I was glad we got to save the little Lalafell (I was sure we'd end up fighting a zombie Lala after Liavanne), but I guess he has other problems now.
The last time I've felt that immersed in officially produced Final Fantasy creepypasta was my first trip to Gusgen Mines in FFXI. Well done, devs.
Part III is going to go full-on Parasite Eve or something, I bet. XD
