With Desynthesis on it's way with the next patch

What new crafting items/ items in general can we expect to see with that update?
And what do you guys expect or hope to see incoming with that new feature? :3

I was wondering and am still hoping, if we're probably going to see sets of Primal-Armor at some point of time, and that if something like Primal-Armorsets will ever make their way into the game, that these may have that distinctive glow that the weapons have when you have the right items for them~

I've imagined for quite some time now, how awesome it would be for me personally, to run around in a complete Garuda-Armor that may or may not have that distinctive glow~ ^-^

Well we don't know if the armor glow/ rune spiral is related to desynth yet either so there are alot of avenues to restrict and make faux rarity of some of the armors. But besides me being uber hyped for being a part of an airship building I hope for job specific armors that have special effects for their specific abilities. For instance a set that doesnt have a normal shield but the right arm plates extends into a shield, or War enrage causes the armor itself to pulse at specific points like on the biceps back and legs. But just more small details that just expand the realm of what is the norm thus far.

I expect to see a lot of complaints about the cap on desynthesis skill points. One of the major factors that has set this game apart is its horizontal scaling--the ability to level and develop secondary jobs equally to your primary, all on the same character. This feature was encouraged in combat classes and pretty much mandatory in crafting. But creating a limited pool of skill points and forcing players to specialize in only 1 or 2 of their 8 level 50 crafting classes cuts out that horizontal scaling. Not a smart move in my opinion.

I just want to know if desynthesis works with green and blue gear or is it strictly white.

The example on the desynth page was a blue ifrit blade so yes blues and greens can be broken down. Now all blues? Probably not but who knows till we try?

We don't know if specialization is a must for desynthesis. Heck a desynth level of 100.00 could be overkill and only net an increased chance of HQ mats over someone with a desynth level of ~37.50.

Finally a reason for master omni crafters having to ask other crafters for help rather than just being a shut in who crafts in their house and does everything themselves.

Forcing you to interact with others because you need something isn't gonna make you more sociable. You either are or you aren't. If you weren't talking to other crafters before, how many conversations are you gonna start after you get what you want? Such great friendships struck in Duty Finder...

Still not sure if I got the mechanics right from what I have read on the Lodestone. You have 300 points that are shared between all your DOH. So do you have to pick out your three "favourite" crafters and that's it? If you use them all, they will be all mediocre? I guess you will need them all because different items need different DOH for a desynthesis. Doesn't feel right since I like to be able to master them all so I can use Desynthesis for any items but I guess I have to wait for more info.

We don't know any details, just general info, so waiting for more info is the smart thing. There is a world of difference between "33.00 means a 33% chance of successful desyth with 5% HQ chance, 100.00 means a 100% chance of successful desyth with 5% HQ chance" and "33.00 means a 100% chance of successful desyth with 5% HQ chance, 100.00 means a 100% chance of successful desyth with 95% HQ chance with triple shards/crystals." The amount successful and failed desynths change your levels is also an important factor. 70 desynths to 100.00 is different than 10,000.

7/10 master all crafters on my server tend to just craft in their fc's house nowadays.
Cuz they have everything they need there minus rmt city spam, random convos filling their screens etc.
i think making it so that you can't be a master all desynther is a good idea as it'll allow ppl to make a few jobs their specialty.

The system is needed - IMHO.

My issue only comes from their possible implementation. IE: Are we going to have the ability 'to lock in' a set skill level? If so then no probs. If I'm constantly desynthing crap to constantly get my skill level back to where I want it - that will irritate me. Although I can see the 'allure' for the constant see-saw effect; I think that combined witht he cap will overwhelm the pampered crafters at this point.

Part of the reason crafted items in general are undervalued is because of the large amounts of people that are able to craft everything under the sun.

It might be annoying initially but most FC's will likely just have to coordinate who does what crafts, but this also depends on how exactly this system works.

So you just want to make more money, ok.

IMO that was a weird reason! ^^; YoishiP has stated ARR was design as solo-enjoyable, so we should not have to concern for sociable.
As someone have said, the approach you suggested will make a lot of spam for WTS/WTB/LF trade ..etc

Moreover, it seems that good item might be desynthesize from untradable item, so maybe you cannot ask someone to desynthesize for you. ^^;

I'm pretty sure it'll work like the "request melds" feature. So that you won't be entirely giving them ownership to the rare items.
So it's a good idea for SE to go about it like this as desynth isn't the main attraction for crafting. It's sorta like frontlines as it is it's own kind of thing.
So boo hoo for all you crafters who want to do everything yourself lol
