i'm new to the game and I was wondering if there were any plans to add a 2hand sword job/class to the game? Could be a Dps/offtank hybrid

It was mentioned in a old post on the forums (though lost track of it due to being months since it was last discussed) that two-handed sword class/job is already considered to be in development due to Yoshi-P wanting to keep Two-handed sword as a separate class/job rather than giving it to Gladiator due to all the rebalacing, countless new animation for Two-handed sword combat and skill use, and reworking of GLA if it was given a Two-handed sword.

Not sure when they could make a two sword class but it would be quite cool if it was a class that started off as DPS and then you can pick two jobs (like Arcanists with SMN/CNJ) where one job is a tank and the other is dps. Not sure how they could balance something like that but it would be an awesome addition to the game.

I liked using a Scythe as a weapon for DRK in FFXI. Could be that the 2H sword could be "Mercenary" and branch into Dark Knight and Rune Fencer ( :P ). Seeing how us adventurers are somewhat like mercenaries to begin with as we go where the gil is in the game.

Of course every Job needs a type of dark story to add to it and that will be having a Rival Dark Knight that seeks the DK power so he can abuse it which leads to our character having to smack some sense into this rival so he or she can understand the responsibility of use this power.
On that note they should make the Dark Knight Job story rival be a female character for once. All the current jobs have our Job rivals as males. -
