Trust me they're going to be missing a lot of content that we already have due to laws and such, yoshi-p said so in an interview. Let them have a special boss or whatev
If you watched the E3 interviews, or have paid attention to the controversy a while back surrounding the China release of WoW Wrath of the Lich King its due to an issue of censorship, they're likely not exclusive bosses/enemies but different models.
They are getting some special mounts and stuff. I saw some pictures at one point... Was it a golden chimera mount that was shown?
It's not a big deal to me really. Let Yoshi-P make some more money. I just want the game to stay profitable so they release more raids/dungeons.
Yoshi stated that the China version will probably not get Golden Saucer, and as stated above the censorship laws and what-not
are going to make them unable to receive a lot of other content. They couldn't even have skeletons when WoW went over there.
So 1 special boss is the least they can do in this situation. :(
I'll skip having some unique bosses and having a daily game play limit that force kicks your account once hours have been reached.
#nothanks
Learn some humility and restraint. Learn about the situation before you provide your opinion, as regardless of having a right to express it, you can still be essentially wrong to think it. There's a lot of changes that need to be made for the Chinese version, many of which will just be outright removed from their version (while others will still have it). Having said that, the real unfair thing would be to sell them a game that is just full of censor blocks because SE must adhere to their laws if they wish to sell goods in China. Let them have an altered version of the game, it's the only way they're legally allowed to play it. Let them have some special content exclusive to their version, they're not going to get many things we get, afterall.
This isn’t new, China censers videogames all the time. It’s only fair that squire compassionates them with exclusive content, considering that a lot of the original content won’t be available to Chinese players.
Here are the rules that all videogames most follow to see an approval from the Chinese government:
According to http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/...-rules/#!2TtKK
Videogames cannot have
• Gambling-related content or game features
• Anything that violates China’s constitution
• Anything that threatens China’s national unity, sovereignty, or territorial integrity.
• Anything that harms the nation’s reputation, security, or interests.
• Anything that instigates racial/ethnic hatred, or harms ethnic traditions and cultures.
• Anything that violates China’s policy on religion by promoting cults or superstitions.
• Anything that promotes or incites obscenity, drug use, violence, or gambling.
• Anything that harms public ethics or China’s culture and traditions.
• Anything that insults, slanders, or violates the rights of others.
• Other content that violates the law
Just be happy this game is even seeing a release in
china.

I wonder how much things like Manor, CT, and other "undead" areas will look like after the model nerf.
Sunshine and bunny hills of course! No, I jest. They’ll just outright remove it.
Ill have to find the image again, but theyre getting a modified Behemoth as well (Chinese themed)
Edit: I've seen a more recent image, but here's one:

From what I see it's a preorder bonus for China.
Here's the newer one:

It really depends on the particular censorship panel that looks at it. I've seen chinese media get away with big dumb dopey looking skeletons because they look too silly to ever be real. on the other hand i've seen zombies patched up to kind of just look like off colored people you kind of look at and go "what is that supposed to be".
China cannot have skeleton enemies last time I've heard.
I couldn't care less if they get some exclusive content. For all we know they may be missing out on some things as well, and they probably will from what previous commenters are pointing out. Is that fair?
Speaking of censorship, in the rumored North Korean version coming out a couple of years from now, each job/class will have only one Skill they can learn- the Clap emote. Players have to Sprint (the one general action available to them) to each Fate, each of which will feature Kim Jong Un, and they have to commence Clapping at him for the duration until the timer runs out.
Question is will they be able to come to our servers and will this increase the spam of RMT.
They already do so by illegal means, they will have their own regional client and servers, but even if SE uses IP blocking they will use proxy anyway.
But maybe if they block IPs and release different versions of the game for chinese and korean players the RMT problem will get a bit better, less condensed , i would feel sorry for some legitimate players tho.
Ahh the Chinese government. Can't even reincarnate without their written permission.
That censorship list is hilarious. Nevermind that it repeats itself but it basically says "Whatever the government doesn't like". The rest of the list doesn't matter because the last item is a "Whatever reason the panel comes up with" clause.
I don't think anyone should be complaining about a small amount of content exclusive to the Chinese version. They are/will be missing out on an awful lot more content so it's only fair that they get something special too.
I'm sure I read that they alternate models for the chinese version. They'll miss out on a lot of stuff.
Wow that behemoth looks nice.
who cares we can't play it and they can't play ours.... all i recall is back in january that DX11 was suppposed to be released adn then Yoshi P stated in a letter that they were holding it back until chinese version release.... now that affects us.. that isn't right..
I'm guessing that the Chinese version will launch alongside another big update for the NA/JP/EU versions. I don't really get the fuss, 90% of 'exclusive' content will just be reskins of existing stuff so it isn't so politically offensive to the Chinese government (like the whole Skeletons are banned because Taiwan thing).
Idk about you guys but I don't think China should get anything until they clean up their act and behave more like what a 1st world country is supposed to.
I don't mind. China is very restrictive. In WoW, they just had to change things...it wasn't like they got anything extra... probably less, actually.
There is no reason to be jealous of a place where government censors so much.
Seems to be a lot of

why would you care what they get? Your not going to see them running around, they will be on their own servers. nobody (ROTW) is going to be able to play on those servers outside of china.
My main concern is not about boss and monsters, it's about bots and hacks that chinese gold market creates.
SE will need to take a close look at this.
Hey Devs... how about territory specific monster cross over events? Example, have Chinese specific mobs appear in all worlds during Chinese holidays.
