Petition to support polygamous marriage (when the system is released).

It's safe to say that most have heard the news that not only will we be getting marriage around the release of patch 2.4, but that we will also be able to have same sex marriage. I think most would agree this is very progressive of the SE team, but I ask you, is that enough?

Let's read what Yoshi P. himself said about the marriage system:

The way he speaks of it, it is not a binding of one player to ONLY one other player. But rather, a way for us to PLEDGE OUR LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. Isn't it possible for us to love and be friends with more than one person? This is why I am wanting to discuss this topic, because it is very near and dear to my heart.

I have many male friends who are all gorgeous Miq'ote that I love dearly. I would consider them all my close friends. How can I just pick one and tell them that I want to pledge to them MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS? Why can't I just have a beautiful Miq'ote harem that is full of love and friendship from multiple partners?

If you support my idea please like and share this post. We still have a lot of time before this system is realsed, and hopefully with enough community response we can make the dreams of polygamous marriage and harems a reality.

tl;DR - Please, Yoshida-san, allow us to have the option for polygamous marriage when the system is released. Don't make us choose between our friends, but rather let us combine our love as one beautiful bond.

I wish the developers would check their monogamy privilege at the door and be more considerate.

It's bad enough that I have to tell my kids that it's okay for a Roedagyn to marry and Miqote, or that one catboy can make sweet manlove to another, but how am I supposed to explain this? This realm was founded on good, moral, by the Twelve values as dictated by the scripture written down in a dead language on shrines scattered throughout Eorzea. I will not stand to see my country crumble to depravity!

Although I'm indifferent on the whole marriage thing I think it was good on SE to allow anyone and everyone to enjoy it, which was a pretty bold move, though respectable. How does that keep me warm in the middle of the night?

Just because our love is different, doesn't make it silly. You have to try to see it from our perspective. All I'm asking for is your support to have our relationships and online life styles given the same consideration as everyone else's.

We are willing to wait, that's how important our shared relationship is to the 5 of us. However, why not bring it to their attention as early as possible? It takes time to make these changes or to even get them considered, so, might as well start now, no?

Not really. If you have a slot for one person, you can have a slot for another. And another. And another. If you can support one marriage, it is not hard at all to support multiple.

Polygamy is not just a fantasy. It is real and practiced in the real world. Just sayin

To me the OP is an opportunist, seeing SE giving in A LOT already with marriage in-game and just expecting more. That to me is disrespectful. As to the topic being discussed people have their preferences, but it's their business so I don't really care either way.

It's a game who cares who you pick it's not real so if the other Miq'ote in your game life get upset i feel bad about your game drama but for real this is made to be fun not real not something big just a fun game add on :P

Harems and polygamy are already supported by in-game lore and Eorzean culture. This actually makes more sense than gay marriage. Godspeed, OP.

Yup totally makes soooooooooo much sense that a bunch of people can form one marriage to each other but one man and another man or one woman and another woman is just wrong and makes no sense in a fantasy game... just stop before you embarrass yourself further.

Since when is it disrespectful for users to ask for more features? Isn't that part of why this forum was created in the first place - for players to give feedback? I think you need to ask yourself whether this is just something you dislike personally, rather than if it's wrong for a paying customer to offer feedback and request features, even if it never comes into fruition.

I'm sorry you don't understand, but that's why I'm making this thread. This is for people like me who know what we're experiencing, and also for those who may be sympathetic to our plight. I'm used to people giving me adverse reactions, but, it is still my right to express my desire to see this feature someday.

If you had read my posts you would know my position. I really don't care whether we have it or not. If people want it, fine. If people don't, just as fine in my book. Besides this joking thread they should have Limits to this marriage thing.

I believe they should put a age limit 18+, I say this because 14 year old marrying a 30 year old woman or 14 year old kid marrying a 30 year old man.

You cannot marry your brother/sister or any family member, which is crosses the line.

I'm not entirely sure how that system would work to be honest, obviously it's wrong for those situations to happen but in Eorzea no matter what your character is of legal consenting age so unless you play on a very specific RP server I don't see how those rules apply in game

In regard to the OP, I support your wish to have this added into the game or have it added in a future patch so long as this doesn't slow down the 2.4 marriage patch, I think you should marry as many cat men or cat ladies as you want
