However, I'd like to point out that my connection is no longer going through LEVEL 3 and WATA switches in Canada. Because of that I'm no longer getting the 9000 errors. In fact I don't get any packet loss anymore.
In my case, it is not about the network issues. I'm sure about this because my niece and I we share the internet at home, and we both are playing at Tonberry. He can play the game without any problem but I cannot. I've even try to login in my account from his computer and the result is still the same. My account cannot get through the loading screen (Error 90000), while my niece account can login without any problem at all. So I'm sure that there must be something wrong with my account.
If you've set up port forwarding on your router, try disabling it (don't really even need UPnP active either). Today's NAT implementations should be able to handle it just fine. By designating specific ports/ranges to forward to a specific device, you could be shooting yourself in the foot--NAT should manage which system set up connections to what server and manage things just fine on it's own. I have 2 decades of online gameplay, nearly half of it with FFXI/XIV and have never needed to forward ports for any of my games--not even when my daughter is online with the PS3 or playing games on her phone/ipod/laptop/PC. Port Forwarding is more of a diagnostic maneuver to help skirt around some potential issues that you may not know could be interfering that in <most normal cases> really shouldn't be in play at all.
On that note, you may find that some of the security on the router is causing issues. You can try toggling/lowering the level of some of the options like Secure NAT, DDoS Protection, etc. Some settings may be under WAN/LAN config or Firewall. Some have even gone so far as to turn off or loosen up security on the router's firewall, which is typically fine if you have a decent firewall on your system already and use safe practices when accessing the internet/email and such. If your router doesn't provide a good enough description in the online help/documentation, you can usually find a "layman's terms" explanation by googling the setting.
If it is about my router and the port forwarding as you mention, how come my niece can login and i cannot on the same computer?
Sorry.. missed that. Thought you were on different systems. See a lot of people having problems like this that are on separate systems and port forwarding is the root of the problem because they've basically locked some specific parts of the server communication to only go to one device with the forwarding rule.
Typically if the only response you are getting is about a connection lost, it means pretty much just that. The socket has dropped for some reason. Are you both in the same Windows User Profile? If not, your login may have security that gets in the way while hers does not. If you are in the same Windows profile, it may be an issue with your player data locally--corrupted file that prevents it from loading properly and the game errors out, but isn't doing it gracefully so you just get the connection lost error.
You could try renaming your character's top profile folder by appending _OEM to the end of it (the FFXIV_CHR1234567890ABCDEF folder) to see if you can force it to download the critical components with your next login. If it works, you will not have your macroes and hotbar settings and such and will need to copy them in from the old profile folder. Do them one at a time or in batches in case one of them makes the problem come back, then you know which one needs to be rebuilt manually.
You could also try the restore option from within the launcher after you log in (don't hit the green Play button yet). That is, if you've previously saved your character data to the server. Otherwise, your only option might be a Windows system restore or other Backup/Recovery option you may be using--start with the most recent restore and work your way backwards. Just remember this may undo other changes that have been made to the system as well.
Other than doing these kinds of things to recover local files, it could be something at the server level that you would need to take up directly with SE through the support portal contact options.
I'm having this problem right now along with 10105 error. Also on Tonberry, I've tried reinstalling the game redownloading the game clearing documents to redownload all patches and start with fresh settings, ports are forwarded and confirmed opened it just refuses to let me log in.

And today we have lag issues, but not a problem. Maintenance in 3 minutes will last for 13 minutes and apparently fix the issue. Fingers crossed. "[Cause] server equipment"
I always have 90k error and its weird that I never had any laggin/dc issuse when I played in beta nor in the 1st month of playin , I have been blaming my ps3 from the start but as I see alot of people have it too then it might be not it .
I have had horrendous latency issues for the past 24 hours.
It is not on my end as I have double and triple checked this, my other games run fine.
For the last 24 hours I have had several 90k errors among others, the connection has been steady (although I'm in Aus and 200ms has become acceptable...)
I have run speedtests and its fine. Here is one that I just ran and I have been playing on this connection with no issues for the past 2 months.

Here is a pingtest to the Tonberry server (Which I currently play on).

I have no idea what is happening that is causing this unplayable lag, please help!
I enjoy playing this game, but this lag issue has made it unplayable.
Thank you

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd expect it might be somewhere around the Telstra undersea lines getting you over/into Japan. Tracerts may give you a rough idea of where the connection is bogging down. If it's not in the JP subnet that SE owns or the JPNIC portion run by the government, not much that SE can do about it--in such a case, your ISP would be your best advocate.
When I trace to it from here in the states, aside from the usual hiccups around LA, it looks pretty much normal in comparison to what I used to see when I played XI. Both the Asianet and SE lines are holding true to their usual 180-190 response times. So there may be some peering issues with the routing partner your ISP is using to get you overseas. That would be something that your ISP would need to address if it's on their side, or Asianet (by way of SE's request) if it is the interconnect on their end. If the problems are within that routing partner's network, then your ISP needs to take them to task to resolve issues with those segments because your ISP has the enforceable agreement with them to carry your data.
My connection only experiences problems when it gets to the asianet portion.
I'm getting this error after a blackout last night how can I fix it
Hmm I think your right there may be an issue with your account or client software in general. Have you tried performing a recover as Raist mentioned? Or possibly a reinstall? If your sharing the internet there may be an issue with your router. Have you tried connecting the internet directly to your PC? Do you still get disconnections? If you don't then it may be the router itself. Port forwarding I've read is a huge cause of the problems for some people. There is also a few in which the UPNP on their router isn't properly behaving. If both of you are going to play on the same network then you can't use Port Forwarding. This will only cause the data to be directed to a single IP. Instead you need to use triggered ports and make sure UPnP is working properly. If your on wireless it could be an issue with your signal. If you can provide more details we could possible figure out what's going on.
Actually I have try many things and I sure it is not about my internet connection.
The last time this happened is on June 20, on June 21 I can login again. Then it happened again today, the same issue.
I cannot login to my account while I can login to my niece account every single time, on the same PC at almost the same moment.
Here is what I do:
1. Login to my account -> Failed
2. Login to my niece account -> Successful
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for 10 times, got the same result.
Then I just try live chat with Square Enix Support Center, they keep let me check my router, my internet connection, and my ISP. But he cannot explain why I can login to my niece account without any problem at all.
Then i ask them to try login to my account and see if they can do that. They just end the conversation. Which mean they could not help.
Now what should I do.
No I mean, I have tried login to my own account and it just doesn't work, then I logout from my account and login to my niece account right after that, there is no problem at all.
After that I tried to login to my account for several times, and it failed every time, while I can login to my niece account on the same computer, the same connection right at the same hour and it work every single time.
