Why do we have the ability to pick stats before we get an actual substantial amount of stats to pick from again?

wait, with novus, does this mean i can replaced skill speed with accuracy now? if so, bye dual haken!

The following issues have been addressed:
*An issue wherein players would not receive a penalty for leaving a duty while other players were still loading into the instance.*

guess people will finally be happy for this.

*sigh* I was hoping for those glasses they showed during the live letter to come during this patch.

no, you can choose the stat you want to put on the novus by melding materias to the scroll and im guessing Alexandrite are the new catalyst we have to get to infuse them

So the novas as shown isn't getting a 5th stat of your choosing, but rather replacing a stat with another u want or boost anyway.

If you choose to. You infuse the sphere scroll with materia to change the stats.

You realize price will not raise up immediately if YOU got in game immediately and buy all materia in the market :D before they put down (Not log in yet)

I expect a sold out of acc/crit/det materias within 30mins lol.

Staying up till 5am so I can get a good price on materia. Also incoming more people spirit bonding in your dungeons.

There is way more in this patch than I expected! Time to go to sleep and get ready for some sightseeing tomorrow! :D

I would love to quickly buy all those materias, but sadly will be asleep at 5 pm pst. Some people are gonna be happy with the amount of gil they shall get.

Yeah I'm aware of that but I can't get on at the time the servers up so part of me kinda want to flip the tables because I didn't made the investment before the maintenance.

Its understandable, people wouldn't have known that materia will be needed until now unless we saw the patch notes.

An issue in the Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4 wherein ground targeted skills could not be used at certain locations.

Thank you, SE. I sort of mastered the placement of those Shadow Flares in T9 but sometimes it still bugged out which was tableflip-inducingly infuriating.

Which is exactly why they don't say anything. If people knew materia would be used for the Novus upgrades, the prices would have shot up as soon as people knew.

So many little things in this patch make me very happy!! I can not wait to get me an apkallu minion :D

melding mataria to a scroll... and they had to postpone this update over a month? really? i'm seriously infuriated by this I would rather go farm atma for another 30 hours then deal with materia/crafting classes, this is novious it should have absolutely nothing to do with player crafting at this point. Not to mention this also completely removes any work from the player except for gathering the mats needed to meld. So in other words this part of the weapon is a pure who has the most gil race... which is not what the novious is supposed to be at all, gil shouldn't be a factor.

So glad i bought the materia for my last relic an hour before maint started.

Going to have some fun with sightseeing log and new /changepose mechanics. Was hoping for a fix to the iron claw bug in CT, but it's not really that big of an issue so not too disappointed.

Finally we can automatically skip cutseens. Do you know how much time loading a cutseen take on ps3??! Like 30 secs. That's to much time already wasted!

Something tells me there'll be more to Novus than just the "infusing materia" part. I expect the sphere scrolls themselves to take a long time to get so I wouldn't worry about materia prices just yet.

I like a lot in this patch! I'm not a big fan of the materia upgrade. I just used all of my gil I'd saved up to buy a house. So currently I have less than 100k gil. And then they add a patch where you (what we assume) have to get materias which are gonna be soo expensive. I'm so excited about the sightseeing log though.
doon't know how I feel about the pvp upgrade. The one advantage/disadvantage I have when playing pvp is that I have more/less skills than the other players. Now that everyone can access them there's no real advantage for higher ranked players, except gear but usually you don't play against ppl with higher pvp gear than you.
I do like that we can change them as we like though

Yay!~ It's silly, but it drives me nuts every time I'm in an instance and have to re-order the party list. I play on a controller, so I like to have the tanks right at the top of the party for easy cures. Yayyyyy, thank you! Finally!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~! I abused this a lot when I was done with quests and whatever. xD Ah, well.

Should I feel worried that they didn't mention anything about fantasia potion apart from they weren't unique anymore? :<

The delay was to increase the ways we get the Alexandrites, which are the catalysts used.

We've know Alexandrite will need to be collected for some time. It's listed as a Catalyst so I imagine it will replace Carbonized Matter for melding Scrolls.

It doesnt need to cost anything.
you can spiritbond without DoH/L, and i dont think we'll need DoH to *meld* materias to scrolls.
also you need to get alexandrites and sphere scrolls.
ofc those with lots of money, or those that SB a lot, previously, will get their Novus a little faster. And you needed materias for making your relic, to begin with, so what's the fuss now?

Uhm, that Gae Bolg got a pretty good boost in crit rate...

Having plenty of ways to get a catalyst won't matter when materia is 110k+ already and can expect to see 200k+ per materia(like accuracy). over 1 mil to make a novious isn't right it's not in the spirit of the weapon and they should have told us a month ago to start working towards the materia we need or saving money. Instead they told us we have quest and we are adding more ways for you to obtain items needed for novious. this is adding more ways to get 1 item a catalysit. when the real concern is that there is no where near enough materia on the market to support this, on top of the fact there is no way to reliably create new materia, it's all luck based and worse then atma. No there was no need to postpone a month for this update.

Curtana with Vit, Str, Parry and Dex anyone? (doesn't dex improve block and parry rates?)
