Duty Commenced Recap / Summary

Hey guys!

I write for a little known website, and after watching the second episode of Duty Commenced, I figured it would be a good idea to write up a quick summary of what was talked about for anyone who missed the episode.

The pets bit about adjusting them, did they imply that would be ready by 2.3, or is it still a ways off?

I think I'm doing something wrong... I can't find the video on the mobile app. I see the offline channel but not the past videos.

I couldn't tell honestly. I'm hoping it'll come in patch 2.3, but no specific information was given about when we would actually see these changes. They also stated that Summoners probably wouldn't get Ramuh or Leviathan Egis until there was a level cap increase. They also mentioned that they wasn't sure which (Ramuh or Leviathan) the devs were going to introduce first (Implying that they wouldn't come out at the same time?)

That would be because the Episode aired maybe 30 minutes ago? You missed it sadly, but there will be more, and the link I provided is the channel they will be using for all of their future episodes.

No new info except planned Summoner and Egi changes and even that was vague as usual, aside from new Egis after the level cap increase which was also known for a while.

If the level cap raise is 5 levels (like back in the old FFXI days) then they just mean we'll only get one level 55 job quest and because of that only one new egi. It could also be a 10 level raise, but they want your egis to only come every 10 levels.

Regardless it seems to be very negative for any chance of Shivas. On the other hand perhaps Shiva will be the most awesome summon, and I'll die happily.

There was information about the chocobo re-coloring, Chocobo level cap increase, and the fact that weather will play an important part in the new dungeon. All of which I don't think there was ever any previous mention of? I could be wrong however.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'd like to see it in 2.3 as well, simply because I think it would be nice to try something other than Garuda for once (though I'm so used to her abilities I may not want to lol).

No it's a mobile app thing. I can see it on the full website but not on my phone. Eh, I'll watch it later.

But I'm worried about the Summoner thing. I'm reading that as a drop in DPS & speed. Don't use Garuda-egi here... swiftcast not ready... "hold up guys, I'm bringing out Titan-egi. hey guys wait up..."

Those were mentioned in either some past forum posts, I think in one of the recent producer letters too and a couple of recent interviews here and there. I mean it's still good for people who don't keep up with all the info as much as others do so a video condensing all that info is alright.

I honestly feel that Duty Commenced needs to provide something community based. It's nice to have a recap of things to come, but unless they can give us more information about it, that should only be a fraction of the stream. I liked the jokes and such, that was fine, but it was lackluster on content. I think they should cover certain things, even by mention, that the forums have concerns over. For example, currently there's problems regarding win-trading and whether or not that will be addressed. Even if they don't have an answer to provide, it'd be nice to acknowledge those concerns. Something as simple as "we don't have an answer for you at this time, as it's something the director will have to address before we can share anything" or "the topic will have some light shed on it on the next Live Letter" would be fine. But I guess if there's fear of players reading into the responses too much, they'll just have to refrain from mentioning them.

They talked about talking about reading the forums, they talked about reading the forums, then they gave away a cd.

I agree, I would have liked to have had more of a Q&A session. But overall I enjoyed it, not to mention it's a little thing that the community team doesn't actually have to do, so any extra time they give us, is just that, extra.
