Why do our tail goes up when wearing Weathered Evenstar Coat

i have no friggin idea how our ears can possibly shape their way to the hat lmao.

See the way the back flairs out? I'm pretty sure if the tail was allowed to do its 'normal' animation, it would clip into the bottom part... So, this is the developers' way of avoiding that... but, it could also be a stylistic choice, too. I really don't like this set and I'm glad I can glamour over it. Unfortunately, my main is SMN and I glamour over all my soldiery pieces with AFv2... buuuuut, when I play my BLM, I am stuck with this appearance because SMN AF is not available for BLM. :) I really, really, really do not like the stiff tail. I could have lived with the weird tutu and odd flaring, but the tail is the thing that really bugs me more than anything. To each their own, I guess, and I can only assume there are people who like how it looks.

The whole design is really weird... Is it meant to be based on Kefka or something? It's kind of jestery

They could have just put a notch in the frilled part. A lot of pieces have notches in them so the tail doesn't clip with anything. It makes little sense that this was a design choice...unless they are testing something like the old heavy dark light tail armor from 1.0 (which they scrapped to allow for a tail length slider)

That gear is an eyesore either way. The tail makes it only slightly more terrible.

The tail got it's own cloth part that's solid and bent up so the tail fits in and stays up. They went for clown/magician/joker look. It doesn't have to make sense and it's okay that it looks funny... I personally find the whole set including tail part, really cute!

It's all about the legs.

I highly doubt this. SE doesn't give a damn about clipping issues.

It's just awful regardless of the class wearing it. The reason why they designed this rubbish is still a mystery to me.

I like the actual outfit, but the tail condom is just absolutely..terrible. It's terrible.

The tailboner is the best part of the outfit.

Really wish they had dropped the tutu all together, and went with actual pants for both genders, would have made for a neat steampunk magician kinda look. As it is the female version just looks silly, and the tail sock just makes matters worse for mi'qotes

How else will we Lalafells have swings! *Ties some rope and a plank on a miqote tail and starts to swing*

The Evenstar set could be perfectly good for a new job: CLOWN.

This thing is ugly, probably the worst set caster ever got in this game.

I wish they'd revert all armor back to having notches for miqo'te. And change this armor to do that. I don't want clipping or fake tails.

I almost wonder if they made some of this new gear purposely hideous so that people would use the glamour system. If so, mission accomplished. I glamoured my Evenstar body with the Allagan one.

Maybe it means you're ready for a fight? Spring into action... FIERCE! like a real cat?

I think at this point, everything must look weirder on a Miqo'te than it does on everyone else or else it won't be put into the game.

I've noticed also that, while most gear has a 'tail hole' in the model itself, the big daystar coat doesn't. At least tails just clip through this instead of create a strange tail erection. It looks like someone forgot to test the soldiery gear models with tails.

It's not a bug, if you look at it the tail is covered by something that's black with a red stripe. It is a design choice. A hilarious design choice designed to punish casters! It's a tail sock that keeps your tail nice and erect, but be careful, don't wear it for four or more hours.

maybe that tiny red bow was really supposed to be a big ass red bow... and that tail flaring up is actually part of it but it just didn't show right?
