Make FFXIV Merchandise Available Outside Japan

There are a lot of FFXIV items on the Japanese e-store already, shirts, towels, pins etc.

None of these items are available to players outside of Japan which goes against what Yoshida has said in a previous interview-http://gamerescape.com/2013/06/17/e3...naoki-yoshida/
He states that he doesn't want items that are region specific, and that not having those available to all regions can turn people off of the game. So then... why can't we purchase the items?

TLDR: When will these items be available outside of Japan? I'm sure I'm not the only player that would love to get their hands on some of this stuff.

OT sorda, but I'm still looking for that meteor survivor shirt I deserve >_>.

edit: Oh well I just looked a little into that site, and it seems you can buy the damn shirt....

Because he was talking about in-game item codes not being restricted by region, not any and every kind of goods.

I too want to get a Meteor Survivor shirt.
Considering I survived a "meteor" and all.

Do they not ship overseas? That's some serious bull poo if they don't.

Edit: I had a look around the site and couldn't see anything about shipping overseas...

That was a direct question being asked about the Dalamud minion, and he says:

So I think the quote you're using has more to do with in-game items, not merchandise specifically. He doesn't want people to have things in game that people in other regions can't get, (because he considers all servers equal since they are a mix of all regions) so we aren't standing there going why does X person get Y in-game item and they are on my server, but I can't get that?!

But I will say, even though I believe that was said specific towards in-game items, I do wish they would have more items for sale here as they do in Japan. If people are willing to pay the cost and shipping, why not?

They way I interpreted his response is that he wanted to make things available in all regions and save players from having to import things. I saw this as all items, not just those including in-game codes, which was why I made the comment about importing XI items.

If I was wrong then so be it- but it doesn't take away from the fact that there are millions of people playing this game and not all of them live in Japan. NA and EU really need to have merchandise made available to them. Square Enix would be stupid not to take advantage of the large number of players they have for this game by releasing goods related to the game.

Yes, and I agree that more items should be sold in other regions and not just Japan. While the statement seemed to be made more towards the in-game items, I also believe that it should be for all items across the board, in game or merchandise.

I feel that Yoshi should be thinking in such terms for the market as a whole, and maybe SE will consider it. At this moment it seems like he is making minions available to everyone in all regions, as we can see by the two soundtracks with both minions being sold world-wide and the PS4 release with the Moogle. In terms of in-game, it seems he's been true to his word, everything everyone gets is available to everyone in the world who plays if they wish to get it.

But there are many real world items in the JP store that we can not get in EU or NA, and I hope this changes in the future. If the CD's sell well world wide, perhaps they will start making more available and as long as there is a profit, hopefully we will continue to receive more items. I support this idea 100% and hope they move beyond just in-game. :)

Square Enix are a phenomenally large company. They have no excuse for not paying the shipping charges to send merch overseas. Hell, they could probably just ship their merch to international retailers. They're big enough.

First item that stands out to me there is the Meteor Survivor shirt. Something we've had PAGES and PAGES asking for us to be able to buy. Ugh... I'm very tempted to get someone to buy and ship to me. I didn't think I'd need to go through that kinda hassle for a shirt just to give SE my money.

Great news! Obviously some of the printed material won't be released here, but as long as all the physical items make it that would be awesome! Hoping stuff is made available soon so people can gear up prior to Fan Fest!

Thankfully, a FCmate is going to Toyko this month. Guess I'll give him money.

Yeah.....tell me about it...by the time I was able to get to E3 last year, I made it about 5 minutes AFTER they closed the "Ifrit challenge" line...Otherwise I would have gotten the shirt :(

I was watching the people in the challenge...they don't deserve the shirt...some of them hadn't even heard of FFXIV before that or showed any interest in it because "1.0 sucked" :(

Those aren't the people that should have the shirt... All 1.0 players should have a "Meteor Survivor" shirt! We're the TRUE Meteor Survivors!

I kinda wish SE would sell their stuff on Amazon too. Seems Japan gets all the good junk and the 90% of us players who are non-JP get the shaft in cool goodies. Is it wrong to think a global company should treat it's global customers equally, or am I being naive?

...all i've wanted since the last day of 1.XX is a Meteor Survivour shirt.... why can I still not has this :(

There is a way you can get stuff outside Japan, and it isn't all that expensive. You can use services like Tenso.com - basically an international mail forwarding service. You input Tensos (japanese) address details at the check out, and tenso will then mail it on to you.

All this assuming you don't have a problem with your payment method...
