I am posting in hopes that the removal of the fatigue system will bring about a change in the way we rank up. I really miss partying, it was something i was looking forward to as i awaited ffxiv beta. I am not disappointed with leve-quests, however i think there should be more options/ways to rank and level up. I have been in a few parties myself inb4 flaming "parties do exist, you gotta look for them". No i know, but we need a better search function. Those in favor of adding rank/level up to the search list and a looking for group icon next to our name say aye! It would make more sense now that surplus is gone.
:cool: Heres further hoping that the broken skill chain (Battle Regiment) system will be fixed soon.

I really want exp parties as well. Leves just aren't cutting it and once fatigue goes away, leves REALLY won't cut it.

I'm up for open field parties, but unless it was substantially more convenient than FFXI's way of doing things, I'd prefer that the devs continue to focus on beastmen camps and instanced dungeons as the future for SP. Something about standing around doing nothing for hours just to get a group together to go stand around repeating the same thing for hours doesn't appeal to me like it used to.
At least these quest hubs and raids have some small semblance of variety.
If they could find a way to quickly throw together a group when you wanted to and have easy access to get out to a location and grind a bit, I'd be all for it. Something tells me, however, that might be what they're aiming for with the aforementioned beastmen camps. -

I really miss exp parties. Sometimes you can throw together a super awesome group of players who each know their job very well, and get amazing exp. Sometimes you get that paladin that, no matter how many times you tell him, he just wont voke until the mob hits someone else first.
EXP parties had a certain amount of skill required to them. You could create a name for yourself in them. Instances. We did that in Aion, and in WOW. I hate going to some stupid instance, and spamming buttons while mobs are all over the place. It wasn't skilled based. It was about as hard as behest. I want some challenge where it takes 6 "or 8" well coordinated members to kill a single mob.
If they can do that with instance, than i'm all for it.. but if it's like WOW where a bunch of 10 year olds can do it even with no assigned tank.. no thanks -.- -

With the exception of guildleves/and behests for example even the low NM's take some time to be killed by a 50 whereas in most MMO's these days you could one shot them (plus their gear would be completely useless in most cases). From watching the video of the dungeon it looks like S-E knows this, simply putting more HP on a mob does wonders in my opinion.Quote:

what does age have to do with skill in a video game?
age shouldn't have anything to do with how good you play a game.
Honestly WoW instances are not that easy but it more depends on what one and its setting and how much you know of it.
funny story. I was trying to play ffxiv one day and my 1 year old nephew and crying. So i sat him in my lap and put the controler down infront of him. Just to see what he would do.
What he did was pick up the controler and held it correctly. And walk/ran my character around and kept putting her in attack mode. He almost started to attack the mob also.
I didn't teach him anything he did this on his own. I'm watching him do this and like WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Amazing healing and mp management conj, epic hate management tank, wow, way to stay under the hate threshold while doing some epic dmg there rng. Way to off tank there pug.
Stuff like that. I don't want a bunch of noobs seeing who can do the most dmg. Attacking first without any thought because they know they can blow through it as if it's a behest or WOW (lol that's me trolling).
If you look here, you will see the EVE ONLINE learning curve. See how it is different from WOW. I'd rather FFXIV be more like EVE online.

that is the ffxi fanbase from cop on. Trust me 7 years of ffxi over 10000 parties. 99% of all paties were zerg fests with PL. What you want is parties from ff11 ps2 na launch. Before the PL thing.
Also it wasn't your WoW part it was the fact you just talked down 10 year old gamers like they have no skill in gaming. Or only enjoy "easy" games.
a games difficault is subjective to the player. A game isn;t easy or hard. It is just fun for those who enjoy it. -

pretty much I'm saying WoW isn't easy to everyone. I do not find it easy all the time. But really once you figure something out it will be easy.
I want parties to be fun and about having fun with other people not about exp/hr. Which is what yoshi even said. He doesn;t want/enjoy partying just for the sake of exp alone. -

Are you aware that generally, a human's capability to perform logic isn't really existent until AFTER a child hits puberty. This means that, unless your child is hitting puberty REALLY early, a 10 year old isn't going to be able to perform advanced logical functions necessary to succeed in a lot of different things in FFXIV.
