Question about Second Coil of 2 turn. (T7)

Lately, I have been hearing a lot of party talking about "4 giant stone method".

Could anybody explain me how does this method work? Seeing that only 3 person has curse voice, and the Giant could become fast after all stone debuff expired. I don't know how can party always keep 4 Giant alive at the same time.

I want to know how does this work, so I can apply this with my static if it is good.

Simple. Kite fatty #1 to designated spot, freeze it. Then Kite #2 to same spot, healer use the voice to freeze both. Rinse and repeat.

This is interesting, can someone please describe more detail on this method ?

There isnt much to explain really. Stone voice refreshes the freeze duration on a previously frozen giant. If youre able to freeze a new giant and an old giant at the same time (they need to be fairly close to each other), and then repeat until you have four giants, you prevent new giants from spawning.

No more kiting. No more accidental giant kills. Person with shriek just hides behind the pile of giants.

Different groups might feel differently about this but my group feels it isnt worth the hassle.

Lol thx for tip. And so it begins that the fight goes into easy mode :D Uhhh, I smell a victory today or on monday this reset period with my static.

please update if its actually easier. sounds like positioning the renaud will be tricky. i have to try it myself.

the way i see it. priority is to restun the stacked renauds regardless. this is incase the new one spawned far and cant reach the stacking point.

The renauds line of sight each other so they have to be stacked in a way that voice will hit all four of them. Getting them into position is more of a hassle to groups that are used to doing the fight normally. Only four renaud will spawn at a time, so if you can manage to stack four renaud so that they're always being hit by voice, no more will spawn and your bard will be free.

It sounds like it may be easier, depending on what barriers are preventing your group from progressing. For us, the hassle is more about relearning an aspect of the fight we already have on farm status. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" kinda thing.

The issue I can see is that each Renaud needs to be frozen close to the previously frozen Renaud(s). With Miasma and Shadowbind, getting the exact positioning that you want shouldn't be a big deal, but the timing of the Voices plus the initial positioning of the Renauds doesn't always cooperate with you. If for whatever reason, you fail to refreeze the old ogres AND the new ogres, it's a wipe.

We haven't actually tried it yet, but just saying that this ain't no Turn 2 Enrage.

Since my group will only start practicing tonight it's a good alternative strategy to try out for us.

Can't you imagine how it is done? Just kite renauds always on the same spot, bind and freeze them. Job done. For all who have it already on farm, they can stick to their strategy. But this one is really really simple. One factor less to care during the fight.

We've tried it and there was an issue with the first one breaking even though we were able to refresh. Seems like something with the duration of the voice buff being different for each of the 3 people who get it messing things up. It would break like 2 seconds before we did it. You likely have to make sure someone(at least them) with the same length voice does it every time, which could be problematic.

Your first one was just out of line of sight of the voice. Voice will last long enough for another voice, regardless of duration, to refresh it. The problem with stacking renauds is that they line of sight each other. You would need to stack them correctly every attempt to successfully pull off this strat.

No, after the first time it happened I checked each one, they both got refreshed.

We tried it today. It works if they stack very tight, if they hide each other not all will be refreshed and you're fucked. Nevertheless, it happens that voice and shriek line up so badly, that renaulds get free 2 seconds before voice fires when all get 8s voice, we had that case.

Yeah, it seems that while it solves one problem, it causes another.

Where's a good position to stack the Renauds? Because I've seen Renauds spawning on tank side, and before it can crawl all the way to the other side of the arena Melusine readies Cursed Voice.

I agree, as long as the Renauds are in each other's hitboxes the petrification will be effective (this will also happen, if someone in the party stands in a Renaud's hitbox during shriek)

Just did this strat as an FC that already downed T7 before, the resulting kill went MUCH smoother. So I can vouch for this strategy being useful.

Wondering where to stack the Renauds and how do you time your kiting such that the 2nd/3rd/4th renaud are exactly at the first's hitbox when Cursed Voice triggers.

You can use miasma on the renauds to basically root them in place. Miasma dot won't kill them after they're petrified. There were two ways we tried to do it. We tried lining the four up so that we could hit them with a large voice cone. And then we tried stacking them directly inside each other's hitbox. Both methods work if the people hitting them with voice pay attention.

We tried this during an experimental raid night. We did this before 80%. We rooted them across the room from the boss on a waypoint marker. However, because of the setup time, our group deemed this unnecessary because we could do the fight normally. That being said, it would definitely be possible to push 80% and still stack the four renauds, then free up your bard. Just takes some practice which you should do prior to 80%.

Ahh, Miasma will root the Renaud for 24 seconds? I was wondering how to time the Renaud to be inside each other's hitbox perfectly when Cursed Voice hits since Bard's Shadowbind only lasts 10 seconds.

Miasma will stack with the heavy that's already on the renaud. Shadowbind and other heavies will remove the heavy on it.

our team runs using the 4 giant method from BRD POV. kinda messy though during latter phase lol

I went as SMN and basically smn's miasma work wonders on rooting the renauds in position. If the position is off, I can just kill it and wait for the next renaud to position them perfectly together.
