I get this a lot too, especially if I have a quest I really want to do and I just started it. And it's not your connection or anything. As far as I can tell, they got sub-standard equipment for this game and haven't upgraded to a better system.
It's soooo frustrating. It seems to occur within a few minutes of logging in, during gameplay, and for whatever reason around 11PM EST.
In FFXI, it sucked when you get the dreaded DC icon but you always had that chance to get back. With this, BOOM, your out and you can't continue your leave quest...
SQUEENIX HELP!
True , sometimes when i D/C i don't wait 'til i can log in back , i just close FF14 for the rest of the day .
i get this problem about once a week for a day, then it mysteriously vanishes without me having changed anything.
another thread had a mod suggest the square-enix connectivity help page:
http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...qtop&c=5&sc=39
which i proceeded to follow diligently and saw no improvement concerning the (300002) error code. so i guess i'll proceed to logging on, killing 2-3 Doblyns, then getting promptly booted again only to have to wait 5 minutes to log back on.
Agree with you there completely, just like you, I did all I could to no effect. I've posted in the Tech Support forum and the only response we can get is to check the Knowledge Base articles. I wish that SE would really take a look into this and fix it with a patch or do something with the servers at their end.
I also experience this problem. I lose my connection and get the 30002 error and 13003 error while logged in, not trying to log in like some people have claimed. I have done the port forwarding, reinstalling, ect ect. This is not specific to my ISP nor to any of my computers. I have this computer and another both having FFXIV and FFXI installed. I run both games simultaneously and will ONLY lose connection on FFXIV regardless of which computer I'm on. At no time do I ever lose connection to FFXI or the internet on my third computer. The one computer is a two year old Sony running Windows XP Pro and my Alienware runs Windows 7 and only 5 months old.
I hear online of tons of my people who experience this issue but will not report it because they're all of the mentality that SE will do nothing about it. As a person who has played XI since the start and now XIV, it is frustrating that the moderators do not take some of these issues as seriously as they should. Loss of connections are not only frustrating to the players, but it absolutely destroys the pleasure of the game. You can't enjoy anything when you know you're just going to be frustrated and annoyed every little while because of a little error.
I'm a Quality Engineer at my day job and I've come to learn that it does not matter how many bells and whistles you implement, if the system doesn't work correctly to enjoy it, it's still junk.
Hey everyone!
We apologize for the constant frustration the sudden crash has been causing you all. We will be happy to forward this concern to try and get it resolve. Before we can do that, we will need more information.
Since you started the thread NeoEarth, could you please fill out the following information?

Hey!!! Didn't realize that you had replied!
Needless to say I get dumped (dc'd) so frequently it's becoming almost a deal breaker /cry.
But here is the info...
Background
Platform: Laptop running Windows7 64 bit, NVIDIA 280M, 4gig ram
ISP: Charter
Type of Internet Connection: Cable @ 16MBPS but on my Wireless G Linksys
Date & Time: Weekdays starting at 9PM - 11PM
Character Name: Neo Earth
Race: Hylander
World: Wutai
Class/Skill Rank: 38 MRD
Physical Level: I think it's 33
Symptoms
Almost always crashes with a minute of first logging in. During leaves, behest, running about... I get a crash no matter what I am doing. In fact it crashed last night about 5 times before i gave up. After this occurs It dumps me out to select a character. I do... and it crashes again. At this point it drops me into the initial ffxiv screen and if i log in... it crashes. Bottom line, if it crashes at all, i have to close the client completely before I can attempt a re-connect.
Having said this... i hope there is some way to figure this out cuz I love the game and looking to stick it out.
Is there ANYTHING i can look up, do etc...? I'm a software dev so don't be afraid to ask the tech details or to find some crazy log file.
Having a wireless connection can make a world of difference when it comes to diagnosing this problem.
Go into your network adapter settings and check if you have more than one preferred network. If you have two active preferred networks, your computer may be trying to grab DHCP addresses from both, causing connection problems in FFXIV.
If you have more than one network in range, make sure that "Connect when in range of this network automatically" is unchecked on the one that you aren't using.
If you only have one network in range, then it's back to the drawing board. This solution is mostly a shot in the dark.
You can also try connecting your computer directly to your modem, instead of going through a wireless access point. If this corrects the problem, then it lies somewhere in your wireless configuration.
Also, if you are using a wireless connection, which can often be the cause of issues in relation to MMOs, change the wireless network power settings to full, at least for as long as you are playing.
this happens a lot to my friends that are using wireless to play the game. To me wireless has always been a no-option in playing online games *remembers back the day when tried to play other online games with wireless* is terrible. Always either you DC or massive lagness. so called 4G wireless.. and still doesn't feel at all.. *except surfing or downloading*
Well, I updated my routers firmware and it may have improved things. Having said this... It did disconnect once and I wasn't doing any leaves or behest.
As for the wireless aspect, while i agree that this does introduce a new variable, it never was a problem for FFXI nor LOTRO.
If this continues, i'll try going to a hard line tonight.
Being on a laptop, wireless is more than just a convenience.
Greetings, NeoEarth!
Thank you for taking the time to fill out the report regarding your troubles with your connection. I can understand how greatly frustrating it can be to be frequently kicked out of the game, so I have made sure to submit your report to the development team for a thorough investigation. I recommend keeping an eye on this thread for any news about the investigation. Thanks again for your report!
Greetings again, NeoEarth!
Thank you for your patience while waiting for a response to your report about your disconnection trouble. After thoroughly investigating the matter, the development team deemed this to be a technical issue, so I have made sure to move this thread from "In-Game Bugs" to "Technical Support," in order to make sure that your matter is properly addressed. Thanks again for your patience, and I wish you the best of luck with resolving your matter!
I've been having this issue much more frequently again after a period where it was fine. I can tell it's not my internet as a whole going down because I view a stream channel in the background and I would get an error screen from that if my internet cut off.
Had that problem too one day, kept dc'ing every few minutes. Restarted/resetted my whole Wi Fi and it worked again normally, no longer dc'd.
Hello old thread.
I will make a generic post aimed at anyone having connectivity issues.
If you don't already have a DSLR account, consider making one for this to be easier to manage.
First off, run this utility: http://www.dslreports.com/linequality
If you have any problems appear; the cause is your internet connection. If so, call your ISP and get techs out there to look for problems. Also consider posting the result here for us tech guys to scan over.
If you don't see any problems, run this utility: http://www.dslreports.com/smokeping
Set the scan period to 14 days.
Check back on the graphs a few times during the day, usually when you disconnect (or 5-10 minutes afterward so the graph has enough updated data)
If the graph is anything but green, that's a sign that your internet connection is having a problem, and like before; call your ISP and report the issue.
If you receive no problems at all and you're using a router; first use a wired connection if you're currently running wireless. If you still have the problem, remove the router and directly connect to the modem.
If you still experience problems while directly connected to the modem and your line quality/smokeping results are 100% free of issues, then it's either your network card (or network configuration in Windows) malfunctioning; or it's a routing issue to Square's servers; the latter of which will make you SOL.
A While (A Few Months) Ago I Kept Getting Disconnected Or Whatever With This Error And After Awhile It Fixed Itself. I've Noticed On Latest News How Most Of The Worlds Are Being "Recovered From Technical Difficulties" Maybe They're Getting Something Similar To This Error Too
This error happens everyday now! I cannot play for more than 5 minutes; this 30002 error needs to be seriously looked at by the developers. There will be no players to play your content if none of us can get online in the first place. I see this error even more frequently during Japan prime time (as in right now...connection to the server and R0). It is really irritating that the development team cannot take some time to fix this.
I am also getting this error every 20-30mins which disconnects me, all I do is restart the game and I can get back in but its very annoying.
(30002) 1304639631,15924710,5
Also I would like to add that I recently bought two identical PCs recently and my friend that I live with does not get this error at all but I do. We are both connected via ethernet and I even changed my cable incase it was faulty even though I have no issues playing LoTRO/RIFT or AoC.
I've been having this issue for the past couple of days. I recently bought this game, and immediately my R and S were on the fritz. And at random times, the 3002 error would appear. Today I can't play the game for more than 5 minutes at a time before the 30002 error appears and boots me off. I had wireless at first, but then I directly connected my computer to the router, and then the modem thinking it was going to solve my problem, but it didn't. I disabled my firewalls, power cycled my hardware but nothing works. My internet is running at 100mbps which should run the game fine, but it won't.
I'm both saddened and relieved to know that I am not the only one experiencing these issues, and that others are going through the same things as I. It's very frustrating as a customer who has spent money on the game to not even have a chance to play it because SE can't work their servers right.
