I don't know how to gather, it's too complicated. Going to watch a video, BRB!
Oh, I thought this was going to be more along the lines of:
"What do you mean, you've never done Sastasha before?! NOOB! Go watch a runthrough video!"
noob, L2troll, go watch a video plz
Intercourse? Hold on guys, I'll go watch a walkthrough video!
I have never watched or read about tactics ever because I don't like spoiling stuff. And only once has someone commented on it. When I did Garuda Hard, but one wipe later I understood the entire fight and we got her down.
Gaming has never been about learning how to beat things the best way before you've even tried it. It's about experience new things and learn by doing. Trial and Errorr!
And no I don't care if it's mean to people who wants to do it without wipes, they have party finder for that
So, now I am back from watching a video about how to watch the video about how to post on this forum.
Brb, gonna watch a video about how to beat Ifrit HM.
Watching videos is worthless (especially Mr. Happy's videos--that guy has no idea what he's talking about half the time).
There is no substitute for experience, and too many people think online video "guides" are the be all end all of strategies. The only thing watching videos does is add confusion, since every party is made up of different people with different classes and different skill levels. More often than not I hear people say, "Wait, that's not what I saw in the video. What are we doing again?"
And it leads to the inevitable stacking of parties with "preferred" jobs, because people are too lazy and unskilled to understand that yes, you can bring melee DPS to Garuda EX. Yes, you can speed run Brayflox hard just as quickly with DPS other than BRDs and BLMs. etc.
Because he's trying and failing, perhaps? I see his videos as a hindrance to the community more than a help.
Guys, what would we do without videos to watch on how to do things?
...
I guess I should watch a video for that answer.
People have different learning styles. Watching a video may work for some, while hands on doing things is better for others. Please consult the following video to learn more about different learning styles before having a discussion about the topic:

I don't see how Mr. Happy's videos are worthless. Even if you don't find the commentary particularly useful, you're seeing the fight play out. It's considerably more experience than you'll bring into the fight having not seen ANYTHING of it beforehand. He attempts to make them more useful to new players by adding the commentary to explain things, but you don't even need that if you're just trying to figure out mechanics ahead of time by watching.
It's not for everyone, but it's something.
The whole game is about phases/rotation. Knowing the order of kill, the positioning, what ability to use, etc is all extremely helpful. Will you be able to one shot it or kill it quick if you watch a video? Nope. Does it speed up the learning process? Yup. Can players still suck after watching a video? Yup.
Not sure how to make quote boxes. Better watch a video.
Don't know how to watch a video.... better watch a video.
I got into Garuda EX the other day for the first time and told people it was my first time, I was told most people get kicked when they say that and I should be happy I wasnt. I accidentally killed the something, whatever that green thing is your not supposed to kill until she jumps. That was my only mistake the whole match. Got yelled at hard and insulted for my mistake. Same guy yelled at me for doing too much damage to 2nd garuda minion that pops (not chirada the other one). I was told I need to look up strats and watch a video, though I only made one mistake, this "Vet" at garuda couldn't keep hate, and got us killed 2-3 times and then he dropped.
I have no issue with people who want to watch videos and study strats, but there is no need to insult or put down everyone else who wants to experience stuff for the first time, especially when they inform you of it. People always want to know if someone is new and then throw a tantrum any time someone IS new.
Too many people in here think this thread is srs bizness... don't know how to reply; better watch a video.
i've watched the video of the video of watching the video of a video of watching a video of a video that was a video of watching a video... and yet i still have trouble watching a video

*watching a video*
DPS here. Not one video watched for any fights in the game. Can just wing it as a DPS. Went into a Levi EX party first attempt. Died twice in the beginning. Still beat it. Learned my mistake in about 3 minutes in. Didn't die again after.
