Brayflox HM ilv requirement Question

I have to ask since aparently by ilv90+ expert player standards what the game says for a dungeon's ilv minimum is way off.

What I mean is I did a Brayflox Lonstop HM run as a ilv 68 Bard (no Relic Weapon, all ilv70 crafted gear save for the lv45 BRD hat, no materia)... & got harrassed for it, when I've beaten it before with a group all near my ilv, granted it was harder but do-able.

So I now must know what actually is the best ilv needed for that Dungeon, keeping in mind that some of gear it drops is Darklight gear or other ilv70 gear.

Just ballpark it if nessesary cause I have seen ppl asking for ilv80+ ppl for speed runs in Party Finder, which are understandably harder cause of the mass mob pulls & high AoE damage requirements.

I've done that run with ilvl65-90 with no issues. The guys harassing you were just trolls.

I mean, a speed run is more difficult when the ilvl is lower, but it's a game...why not enjoy the challenge of lower ilvl, esp if you're trying to SB stuff. :) sorry you got trolled.

It can be downed at the posted Ilvl. The last boss is a very painful though.

People speed running it set those same ridiculous requirements for almost everything they do so they don't have to face challenge or risk. It's understandable to a degree but, it has not been very good for the game as a whole so far.

I tried it a few times and while I can do the 3 pull strat in even my middle of the road gear, I get tired of the attitude people have in them. I had no idea so many people's girlfriends had convinced them that 10 seconds is a long time.

I just run Halatai HM at a break neck pace with randoms and have more fun. The time/reward is less but, people seem to appreciate it a lot more.

It's like the kickball team in grade school and you're the one picked last. The other kids on your team may or may not be nice about it, but you're definitely holding them back.

Basically just depends if they want to be polite in a situation where being polite is not the easy thing to do.

PS. The ilvl requirement is currently set low enough that people can attempt it for whom the instance isn't easy. But the rewards are good enough that the vast majority of players doing it consider it very easy. Ilvl requirement isn't a bad idea, but it currently only rules out very very unprepared players.

If you're talking about speedruns, then the iLvl requirements are going to be higher than what the game says. If you joined a PF group and got harassed when they asked for a specific iLvl requirement, then that's likely on you.

If you're talking about pulling it via Roulette or DF, then the iLvl requirement is exactly what the game states it is. If you got harassed by players in a DF or Roulette group, that's not cool and those people were being jerks. The iLvl requirement is the minimum gear needed to clear it. If you're clearing the dungeon without wiping too much, then the DF or Roulette people really don't have a right to complain. If they want to speed run, then they need to access that through PF.

People want to play w/ others on the same skill level as them. Its not hard to get i90. i90 requirements just sift out those who arent interested in getting it done as fast as possible. when you have to farm 13,500 myth for your animus. any extra time due to a brd that is i70 and not doing as much damage as much as an i90 is time you dont have to spend grinding mythology. if you dont like the item level requirements in party finder. use the duty finder until you do.

It sounds like he was griefed in DF. If people want to be elitist pricks then they need to impose their own requirements in PF. And skill level and ilevel are not the same. I68 is good enough to beat it. New players leveling their first job don't just snap their fingers to get i90, they have to run dungeons. People are getting spoiled on these brayflox speed runs.

its just like AK speed runs. Nothings changed. When I make a speed run party I expect people to have good gear and know how to speed run. If you want to gear up so you can join speed runs. use the duty finder.

Apparently people take Duty Finder runs of Brayflox HM very seriously.

So seriously, infact, they're forgone Party Finder completely and put their faith in Duty Finder matching them up with all i90 geared players.

Well It was a Duty finder incase anyones wondering, it's how I got into every dungeon I've ever been in so far, but it doesn't really matter now cause my PLD is finally ilv82 & I'm now gona search the board here for tips on PLD tanking since it's been about 2 months since I last used it in a Dungeon (since back then I wasn't the best at it, but I was okay). Thought I thank you all for the insight & now I'm off to read up on PLD tanking tips
