SE: Aquamarine Cross - Can't Turn into GC for Seals Anymore? Bug or by design?

I am a 1.0 member. One of the items you get for completing the story was the Aquamarine cross from Limsa's GC. There are equivalent items from Gridania and Ul'dah as well. Well, when 2.0 came out... I never turned it in because I had 40k seals out of 50k. I wanted to save it for when an increase in rank would be available. I would "cash it" in and be able to get my rank.

Well, all of sudden, though it shows the Aquamarine Cross as tradeable to the expert provisioning NPC, as soon as I trade it in for 25k seals, it says "Unable to complete trade."

SE - Have you removed the ability to trade this in? Is there any reason it's no longer available? Is it a bug?

Another trick to force everyone into doing FATEs and to avoid everyone stocking ventures and what not too fast disguised as a bug, so convenient that it hasn't been fixed yet after two hotfixes/small patches.

I saved OTPOB for exactly the same reason as the OP.

SE says it's a "bug" but it's clearly so people don't gain too many ventures off the bat, which is why it wasn't fixed in this recent 2.21, 2.2 is still fresh and still plenty of FATEs to be spammed.

It was advertised long before 2.0 service began that certain key items would no longer be needed and would be tradable for Grand Company seals. We went into 2.0 expecting to be able to turn this stuff in for seals. Makes not sense to change it all a sudden and not do what was advertised to begin with.

It was working fine 2.0-2.16. It's a known bug that they haven't fixed yet for 2.2-2.21.

Really? It was working fine before patch 2.2 then? How coincidental that it suddenly stopped functioning when it would have been of actual benefit. Expected it to be fixed yesterday, because it was a hotfix and it was left unchanged. There were several small, cosmetic changes added that were omitted from patch notes.

Honestly, between this, ridiculously random atma rate, enforced FATE / mythology grind, mandatory partying and low spawn rate of mobs for a "fun" Easter event and the seemingly forced progression paths of gear for several jobs, I don't know what's up at Square-Enix headquarters these past few weeks. *sigh*

The Emerald Bough is also in this situation, it even shows up in the expert list as worth 25k seals. I had been saving this for a rainy day but now get an error when trying to redeem.

The Coin doesnt even show up on the list for me.

For the easter events there is, in addition to "open world" spriggans that are spread out all over, FATEs where you can kill lots of the same spriggans for eggs...

The coin should be 50k seals > w<

Aquamarine cross and on the properties of beastman are 25k seal each.

Coin should be top of the list for trading in 1.0 stuffs

You're ridiculous. It's value in 1.0 was 50k GC seals. Since I was capped at the time, no point in trading it in for nothing. Community Rep have said oh oops they forgot that one, then continued to make everything else that was tradeable in 1.0 for GC seals tradeable once again... except for the Commemorative Coin, because reasons, I guess.

Not to mention Lucis - each tool upgrade requiring 80k seals worth of Moonstones.

Like many others in these threads, I was saving all of these items for that rainy day of new GC ranks. But with so many seals required for things (like relic and lucis) I have gotten these things off retainer to turn in. I have been able to trade in everything now except the COIN. Guaranteed never to depreciate. :/ Pleeeeaaaaseee reinstate this item.

Delivery is much faster than FATEs.

Did you guy try it again ??? cos me im Gridania GC and i had the famous book to trade to upgrade and when 2.0 came in i end up with the book and couldnt trade it back for 25k seal cos there was the same bug and not long ago i was able to trade it in for the 25k seal

Several items were fixed that used to be broken. They even mentioned they would fix items like Commemorative Coin and said sorry for the oversight and then proceeded TO NEVER FIX IT EVER. So, thanks, SE, I guess.
