If Disciples of war and magic get jobs what about land and hand?

My interest was peaked by this quote. We have three disciples of land classes, and we have more disciples of hand classes, I am certain more is coming of both, shepherd for instance looks like it can be a disciples of land class. but you can not do anything big on DOL and DOH classes, although if they were to get job upgrades it would be a little different.

They would have a little fighting ability and probably can be used in events or what ever their jobs can be used for besides crafting. Basically a crafter and fighter, using the same weapons and similar weapons, probably wasting mats for certain bonuses whether crafting or fighting, even if it were to be buffs or debuffs.

Point is, if Disciples of war and magic are getting jobs, there should be jobs implemented for DOL/DOH.

If we get to 50+ there will be less content, and this could be a way along with event to keep people hooked and interested.

lol maybe, They go into a mode for a few minutes where anything made in that mode has certain effects like 90% HQ, or 100% success etc etc :P

Armorer > Armor Aura > Chain mail or Plate mail type of suits gain 50% HQ bonus for the duration.
Goldsmith > Gold aura > jewellery made will never fail for the duration.
Botany > Life Energy > Increases the amount of chops you can do on a tree for the duration.
Fisher > Master Lure > Fishes bite 100% of the time for the duration.

Well how about this...

Combat Bonuses, CC abilities Versus
Miner: Earth Element mobs or Rock type monsters (Ogres, drakes, ants, bombs)
Fisher: Water based mobs or Fish type monsters (Oboron, slugs, toads)
Botanist: wind/earth seedkin I think they're called. (Sylphs, Treants, Goobue)

Various traits or skills with related bonuses
Alchemist: Additional damage with poisoned weapons. Thrown pots are more potent. (MP, HP, Poisons and Panacea)
Blacksmith: Additional damage with forged weapons.
Armorer: Additional defense with forged armor.
Culinarian: Additional stat bonuses with food
Weaver: Additional defense with cloth armor
Leatherworker: Additional defense with leather armor
Carpenter: Additional damage or stats with Bows, Staves, arrows
Goldsmith: Additional stats/damage with jewelry/THM weapons

DoL and DoH were originally supposed to fight alongside DoW/DoM but they scrapped it at the last minute. It even still says now on the Official Site that Miner can weaken Gold Type Mobs and has Treasure Hunter or something like that. DoL/DoH were never designed to rank up on crafting/gathering alone that is why the grind on them is so bad, they were supposed to be able to rank up in battle too. Obviously their skills were somewhat more limited in battle they were still more effective than what they reduced them to now with stone throw.

Jobs are for party content.
DoL and DoH don't have party content. Maybe sometime in the future.

Jobs are for party play.
Crafting/Gathering gets nothing by partying.

Getting jobs would be silly (also they're already kind of "jobs.")

You can already specialize in things with "training." Unless you want something like WoW where you can specialize in different kinds of crafting that unlocks different recipes (Ex: Gnome Engineering or Goblin engineering)...then I say that'd be okay but also kinda ruin the "one character for everything" hook.

I remember reading that now, i think it's worth remembering though that there are many remnants of the original team's plan for the game that we will never see and I think this is simply a case of the official site needing updated - i'm sure they will get around to that when the game is in proper order.

Yeah but that was my point they already had plans for DoL/DoH to fight in battle along side DoW/DoM but they scraped it before launch. There was an interview in March last year that they were giving examples of how they worked saying that Miner was a THF type class with Treasure Hunter to increase drop rates but it was all pulled before Alpha. My guess is they realised by doing that they could never have the traditional type Jobs that a lot of people want as again all the skills would be split among the DoL/DoH even further.

Yeah this is why it's hard to guess what things we may or may not be getting because there were lots of interviews in the months leading up to alpha/beta testing that had some detailed information on the plan for the game but alot of it seems to have been discarded as the new team simply has a different agenda. Another example is the plan to introduce new classes/jobs/areas/missions etc only in the monthly patches rather than full fledged expansions model that was used in XI, it's not clear if this still stands or not.

Classes via updates , or should I say some fundamental updates is ok. I do not mind getting them in an expansion, but to be honest this is not xi, same with how it is not WOW, but does yoshi p listen there nope. With him going this approach and not by the other teams I expect classes to be released in a nifty update, instead of an expansion.
