Still having stutter issues. Any suggestions?

I've recently gone out and purchased a Corsair 60gig SSD in hopes that it would solve my stutter.....I did a clean install of Windows 7 64bit (was on 32 before with same issue) as well as reinstalling XIV. I've followed guides in optimizing my SSD card and still no luck...
Whether i'm on low settings with everything off, or at my preferred optimization High to Very High. I get the same results. I also ping on Wutai around 150ms...

The stutter is tolerable (even in Uldah) until after about 10minutes of being logged in.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Fixes that were successful in my case:

-AMD Phenom II X4 955BE when running above 71 degrees Celcius gave stutter.
I changed to Power Saver Mode to reduce temperature.
Also added some thermal paste (I didnt see a serious change in temp.)

-Also my Nvidia image settings keep resetting to "Use the advanced image 3D setting" why? I have no idea. but changing it to "Let the 3D application decided" did the trick.

-Vsync force on got rid of some screen tearing i had too.

Without knowing the rest of your system, and the exact settings for the game, it is rather hard to give input.

If you stutter 10min when you log in then it goes away and lag sometimes then noting you can do about it. There noting anyone can do the game really bad now. When they shut down the servers that last time for 6hours now am getting 1-15fps in city for a short time then it stay at 20-25 when i was getting easy 35-45 and outside 50-60 now am getting random lag spikes out of no where. I think it just issue with ffxiv itself and not our hardware.

What I am getting doesn't seen to be "lag spikes" It's a consistent chop. My FPS in in uldah is constantly 20-30.

Also, I tried different drivers for my GTX 460. 260.99 and 270.01. Same problem.

What do you mean Chop? like your Char is moving like paper once in the while?

Another note that might have significance. During the stutter my CPU usage percent spikes from 35%- sometimes to 85%!....
Now, I'm running a Quad Core. Could there be some type of optimization I could do to better suit my CPU for FFXIV? Just a thought.

Like i said that happen to me and a few others i know in the game this issue start around when they had that 6hour shut down to fix Char rollback now it take me 1-2min to load a zone it reminding me a lot like beta1.

Sep 7, 2010 post so that when it was open beta and it was really bad. Like i said the game really gone bad when they had that 6hour shut down to fix the Char roll back. Try and roll back your divers too march/ april version then try it out i know that the time that they fix most issue.

You may have to wait for 1.18 to see if the issue was really SE or your PC. But right now looking at your spec you should not have issue.

I'm running

3870 256bit 512MB
3Core "AMD" 2.60ghz
4GB DDR2

And i run everything on

Drawing Quality- Standard "Can play high but there not much diff"
Background Drawing Quality "Can also run high but not much diff
Texture Quality=High
Texture Filtering=Highest

Everything else is off I don't like shadows in game so i have that off.

And i was getting before that 6hour shut down 40FPS in city and 60FPS outside. Now am getting lag spikes of 1-15fps in city and 35FPS and lower in city but i stay a nice 50-60 outside but sometime get a lag once a blue moon.

Question do you have lag 24.7? or only for a short time.

It's 24/7..

However I think i found the issue. My CPU temp was idle at 70C without the client running. I changed my Power Plan mode to Power saver, and now it's dropped down to 42C.

I feel like an idiot. I'll report back soon and let you know if it fixed it.

It's still a little choppy but much much better. Anyone know a possible way to make the client have less of a taxation on my CPU? Mine is pretty decent i don't see why this game would require 50%-80% of my processing ability.

That i know of there no way to fix that issue just to make this clear so i don't have to say this over and over.

The game is mess up it not working 100% with all hardware and it not going to be fix to the core system is fix. So we all have to deal with high Temp issue and high CPU/GPU use too they fix the issue.

No problem am sure 1.18 would fix your issue seeing how i am getting lag now when i was not. got to wait and see only a few week away.

Do you have SLI enabled? This looks a bit like the micro stuttering I have when using crossfire in AFR-mode.

I only use 1 card

I'm not on the NVIDIA side atm, so I don't know which driver set you should use. You might have to try other versions. I had to do the same thing last night with amd's catalyst. 3rd time was a charm for me 11.1 > 11.6 > 11.5b. Once I tried 11.5b it was night and day difference. ul'dah loaded faster, next to no shutter. I could not be more happier. I have a comparable card to your a Asus 6850.

Yeah, I'm running an older driver right now. I did notice that the latest driver was a dishonesty to FFXIV. I changed back to an older one that stated "FFXIV preferred"

I'm still tweaking my GPU settings, but the issue seems to be in my CPU. To anyone that is running across a similar issue as myself, be sure to check your CPU temps.

i been checking my cpu temp and it pertty high 60C while playing ffxiv this only happen when they had that 6hour main to fix rollback it seem like they having other one maybe fix the issue we having.
