Turn 4 Coil impossible to run 2.2

Just a quick suggestion would it be possible to add some more tank pieces to turn 4 of coil pls because the way it stands at the moment it is next to impossible to get any tanks to run it. Simply because there is nothing that drops there that is equal to the hassle which is frustrating because every other class has something decent that drops there. I queued in party finder with a full party barring two tanks for over 4 hours and eventually had to give up.

Before someone says you will be able to Duty find it soon i can't see any tanks queuing in duty finder for it either. Before at least tanks had to do turn 4 to do turn 5 now it is avoided like the plague leaving a lot of classes without some decent alllagan gear since 2.2

Make a GREED party.

That would be an interesting suggestion but there is no way for you to make sure everyone greeds and doesn't use need, now if SE added a option to ask the party if they agreed to all greed only similar to the abandon instance vote if it pass it deactivates the need button for everyone then it would work.

There is another suggestion for DEVS an option to make an instance greed only would help no end getting jobs to do an instance because no matter the job everyone would get a chance to get what they wanted. just make it a party finder option only.

Greed party is the default solution. Yes, you can run into a douchebag player, but overall people tend to obey the party rules.
Sometimes greed winner will even stay for 2-3 runs after getting his/her loot, just for a good karma. :)
"Need" in successful "Greed" T4 party today, miss succesful Levi EX party tomorrow because you've been blacklisted by 7 players.

Move t5 armor pieces to other turns, make t5 drop 2 weapons per clear.

Problem solved.

I agree that SE should implement a set of tools for loot management.
1. A loot master where the leader can distribute loot among party members (mainly for FC).
2. A need/greed setting (checkbox) when forming a party with partyfinder, where the party leader can set a fixed "greed only" mode, disabling the need function.

I will admit that this dungeon requires skilled Tanks to complete amongst any other content. But, there are like.. 2 tank pieces. Really is no point in tanking it.

This was my point there are 4 striking pieces, 3 casting, 3 healing, 2 maiming and only 2 tank pieces other classes need to do this turn to get access to these pieces, which we can't do because how tank intensive the fight is :( and no reason for a tank to do it. I am sorry but that is poor design i know originally you needed to give tanks gear first for progression but now rearrange them a little to spread them out SE pls

*Correction there are actually 4 healing pieces in this coil just to keep my facts accurate but it makes my point even more*

I like these ideas i agree with this or at least make the coil DF greed only automatically i am not saying make all duty finder greed only, just the coil so that people can actually have a chance to get the gear they need on a job they want to do it on or is needed.

Another good idea it is not like taking the gear off turn 5 will make people do turn 5 less, they will always do it for access to turn 6 and above and the weapon.

Greed party is probably the best solution for random people. I ran it with FC 12 times on Sunday and got most of the drops in turn 4 so... depends on how RNG goes, I myself might not tank that turn later on.

as tank (PLD is my main) i doing runs atm only with friends or with ppl's i know , no pieces left in coil that i want as PLD , but there left many for another jobs . Big issue for coming in ramdom pt is i can't really trust ppl's , all tries i did ppl's was roll need allways when they see desired gear drop ;( I think those issues making Tanks actually use other jobs on which they can roll need lol .

Exactly i tried running a greed party today after 3 hours of queuing finally got in group, group made three attempts then quit before even finishing and i had to tank just to make sure there was at least one tank and i need the casting gear from there (sighs) i hate wasting my time, people don't join them because they don't trust people

Valid point, there is no point in going there as tank as their are like hardly any drops/worthless. I like the loot management TERA has, anyone can initiate a loot change while not in combat(60 sec). Can set to free for all (high roll wins), random distribution(no rolling), or class restricted.

RE: Greed party: If you state the loot rules in party chat and each member agrees to them in party chat, SE will actually enforce those rules if they break them.

i.e. if you say: there is to be no "Needing" on any loot that drops in this dungeon," and every other member responds in the affirmative, it would be a punishable offense to the "Need" on the loot.

Interesting that you mention TERA as i think that game has the better loot system and route for end game gear. I mean no lockouts and just grind till you get the gear you need (seriously why do we need a participation lock out with coils, it really kills progression). about the only thing that i think FF has over TERA atm in the loot system is the fact that you can loot unique items if you already have it.

i like this idea why can't we have a choice like in ff 11 and other games i know the class system was designed to make sure you can use something you win, but it causes problems when a class which is in high demand won't do content because they don't get anything :( its the same with garuda ex the ring for fending isn't even there BIS LOL

Greed party is alright, but for T4 what seems to be a better solution for attracting tanks is to promise them 1 or 2 pieces of off class gear. We got a very good tank who was running for the healer robe by promising everyone would pass on it.

I'm finding it sad to see that tanks need some kind of item drop to motivate them to do something...
But in terms of T4, I've never had a terrible PUG tank in 2.2, I've been having terrible healers that let these tanks flat out die. Must be a data center thing

Then why should anyone do anything besides for fun? I'm not gonna spend time to get some random people drops when there's nothing for me. That's why I do it with FC to help them get gears and once they get gears, I get the next drop.

Its even funnier because I see groups in party finders that says "T4 Farm Group, Tank Drops Reserved (Locked)" and both tank slots are empty and all other slots are filled. Here's a tip, if you want someone to tank for you, don't call/reserve tank drops if you are going DPS / Heals.

And everyone else just does things for S&Gs?

It is a slight issue, everyone wants an overgeared/highly experienced tank for T4 when most tanks don't need anything there. Just like there is never a tank shortage for T2 groups, some loot balence would be good.

Had this on farm for 10 attempts in a row on Saturday with the same pair of tanks. I don't think it's "impossible".

Ran into this last night as well. I wasn't sure at that time why we couldn't get 1 more tank. Now I know. Sitting at 7/8 for over an hour was pretty rough.

yeah could be sorted if they made coil greed only or just readjusted all the drops to even out the drops per class, i am not suggesting they make the new coil greed only just the one in duty finder. Hopefully it would encourage people to come on jobs they want to play rather than jobs they have to play to guarantee loot win.

Well actually. If players agree to "greed" rules defined by the party leader, and then roll need, that is harassment. SE does not look kindly on that.

How does this solve any problem really? After a while, every tank will have the helmet and no longer have the need to run turn 4 assuming you want to move turn 5 helmet to turn 4 so tanks would be more compelled to tank it.

this is true but at the same time it could be said for all coil there will come a time when everyone has everything they want from the first 5 coils. Maybe moving gear onto is a short term solution but the only other idea would be to add a better myth reward to it, only problem with that is unless they scale it so that turn 4 you get a lot because of how difficult it is, you will just get tanks spamming turn 2 because it is the shortest and it won't fix the problem (sigh)

If they up turn 4 myth drop, I for sure will be spamming it with my FC. It's still the shortest turn imo. 6 mins per run assuming you one-shot it. Greed party is still the best idea. Nothing SE could do to the game will improve the situation.

My two cents: Before actual 2.2 implementation, me and my static thought to make T4 the farm-fest for mith: 6 minutes fight, 1/1 every time for us, 50 rock solid mith per 6 minutes. Then, the nerfed mith in this turn (it can seems obvious, but I do not want 50 sold from this, just more then 20 mith...). I'm actually farming this for my off-jobs (cast/heal), but as said, I'll never ever again do this turn in need party because I was lucky and get my 2 pieces... So SE please make a greed only option in party finder and I'll join random party tanking T4.

Do a PF which specify that it would be a "greed only" T4 farm party.
If everybody is OK, it would work. If somebody do a need, just kick him/her and BL him/her.

I tried this the other day it took so long convincing people it was legit and not just a con that it took over 4 hours to get the group together having several people leave and others join it was a nightmare then as soon as we got in people were so fed up the smallest mistake and they walked, dragging us back out into party finder leaving me very frustrated and a party full of people which were sitting on there last nerve :(

This is why I only tank T4 for my static otherwise I always join as a DPS...
