Expand the Armoury Chest please ; ;

I'd like to know when were going to get an expansion to the armory chest to be able to hold more than 25 pieces of gear per slot. As someone who has all DOW/DOM at 50, all DOL at 50, an eventually all DOH at 50....space in the chest is at a premium for me right now. With them planning to add more jobs in the future it's only going to get worse. Most of my jobs I only have one gear set for but some of them I have different sets for different builds(Dungeon content set for my PLD, raid content set for coil, crit build for sch, spell speed build for whm etc.). I'm also holding on to all the crafter gear to level a craft from 1-->50, and thats taking up alot of space.

Or just make it so the armoire can hold more types of armor.

That would have nothing to do with OP's concern, because s/he's talking about Armoury Chest and having different sets at hand while adventuring.
I'm currently worried about rings tab (1 tab for doubled items) and Armoury Chest as a whole, just like OP.

This would fill up the armoire more quickly and thus make the OP's issue even worse!

So, instead of JUST making it so that it can hold more types of armor, how about it do that AND have additional slots available? ;)

I'm doing that as well. It takes up a lot of space. If I could put all that in my armoire (since I'm only leveling one craft at a time), it would free up a ton of space in my armory chest.

I appreciate the responses XD. It's a pain really, I have a set for BTN/FSH/MIN, my four 50 crafting jobs, my main four classes I play each have a full set(None of them share gear ; ;, PLD,BRD,SCH,MNK), PLD and SCH have multiple. My inventory is packed full of materials for aforementioned craftf(CUL yuck ; ;). Would be nice if we could see like 30 per slot? Even that would help. Annoying sometimes when I can't change jobs because my Armoury Chest is full XD.

I have all classes at 50 and have no problem with this.

It's just a matter of prioritising what each class needs, you should in effect be able to have 1 set of gear for every class and some extra space left over.

Use your retainer and armoire to store the gear you don't need/use.

I am going to assume also that you don't play every class regularly, so some of that gear can go to retainers or the armoire until you need it.

Worse case is your will have to buy an additional retainer, its unlikely they will consider increasing the armoury chest because they want to sell you a retainer, Maybe if they add additional classes down the road they will consider it though.

Even MORE annoying is that it doesn't say WHICH part of the armory so you can spend considerable amount of time by juggling items between armory, inventory and even retainers sometimes to be able to perform simple class / job swap. It should alway explicitly note which part(s) of armory is full.

I agree the limitation greatly discourages leveling multiple classes. Having gear in the chest would not help this.

Even better it should just unequip one piece to the main inventory to free up the slot.

Yeah - the same way like when you obtain (or retreive from retainer) any gear item - it will first try to place it in Armory, if that's full in inventory and even if tha's full too then you'll get the notification. Maybe they were trying to avoid the situations where you swap to one gear set and then you'll be unable to swap back if some of your gear will end up in inventory and you might have not noticed but that could be easilly fixed by pop-up and log entry. It's REALLY annoying when you need to quickly change class to join duty and suddently you can't as you've just moment ago received a gear item as reward from some quest or leve you were doing on another class / job while wating fo the DF ...

OP....I agree. Same problem.

Especially if they're planning to add more jobs in the future. It'll only get worse if they don't expand the armoury chest before then, or at the same time. Kinda like how you get more gear sets as you unlock jobs, IMO you should get more AC space as you unlock more classes/jobs.

You only need 20 slots maximum in each category to hold everything you're going to wear. 5 DoW, 4 DoM, 8 DoH and 3 DoH. Many jobs share equipment, so it's possible to use far less than that.

If somebody with all jobs to 50 has armory chest problems, it's because they're hoarding things that they don't need to be carrying with them.

In the future when they add more jobs it can become an issue, but now? It's an issue of the player in question, not the armory chest.

Only unlocking (and gearing) all classes, without the need to go 50 everything, makes all your slots almost filled. Agree on have more space.
I've just 50'd a few jobs, but when levelling a new job, now I'm constantly in need to move things from armory to inventory, to be able wear the armory improvements may happen to drop in dungeons.

On top of that, we also have event items to take account, too. I'd like be able to switch to my Valentione set anytime, without the need to stop to a retainer in order get items, and then move items from armory to inventory too, to have the empty slot needed for gear switching.

25 slots isn't enough for you? Really?

You have retainers for a reason. Store some stuff in there.

If you think this is bad, you would NOT have survived 1.0, even up to 1.23.

You forget any vanity items you might want to lug around. Also, as I mentioned in the OP, I carry sets around with me for leveling DoH from 1-50 also. Thats practically a different set of gear every 5-10 levels.

I did survive 1.0 actually, but back then I only had 3 DoW and 1 DoM. I was there from 1.0 closed alpha all the way to Dalamud, so trust me, I know how bad it was back then XD. To comment on your post though, one of my retainers is almost completely full of gear. The other I use to stockpile materials for DoH I havn't leveled yet. Regardless of arguments, if there isn't a pressing need for an expansion now, there will be in the future.
