PLD ATMA Complete 14.5 hours

14.5 hours managed 8 today. Seems pure RNG, but I got 1 every day when I logged in within 10 fates. Not sure if thats worth anything. I'd do 25 a spot and move if it didn't drop, then would get them quickly in another area.

Hope this helps. Anyway, Glamour'd my Allagan Body with AF1 to match the white shield. i92 now with Noct belt.

Also 9 books total, 1500 myth each, 2 for shield, 7 for sword. 13,500 myth total. Don't do what I did and blow all your 2.1 myth/covered philo on your subjob. You'll need it for your main.

How tedious is the requirement to complete 1 book compare to 12 atma collections?

Is completing a book like doing a hunting log, or at least comprable? Because I'm not understanding that part at all, at all.

whats your main and shield stats look like with the new books on it?

Books requires you to do 3 Dungeons, kill 10 diffirent enemies, 3 Levequests and 3 FATE's, atleast this it what you need to do to get +2 VIT on shield. Currenty missing one FATE as it is multi-boss FATE and i just dont have DPS to kill them all before time runs out and nobody really do that FATE ever so :(

@WingsofWar: I assume shield will get +2 STR just like it gets +2 VIT and after those it will probably become Animus unless SE is saving that for 2.25.

Fairly simple, looks like you could do them in a day, not sure if they get harder thou.

Hunting log is 1/4 of it, dungeons, fates and leves are the other 3

I'm going after the shield first, only 2 books to get it to Animus level. At that point it picks up some additional block rate and block strength. +12/+12. But the stats are +2 vit / +2 Str on the books

You'll have to bring a few friends. I had 2 FC mates help me with it and 3 man + chocobos we did it with a few minutes to spare. One of the birds (south I think) uses stoneskin on a ~30 second cooldown, so save your Spirit's Within to silence that everytime. Once he's low, he'll start spamming cure which you should just ignore (it does ~600 healing).

STR book on the shield is looking to be easier than the VIT book, due to it not having an unsoloable fate in it.

I'll be finishing off my +str book later on today after work, so I'll post as to what happens when you fully upgrade the shield. Fingers crossed that it actually upgrades and that I haven't wasted 1500 myth on getting that +2 str before the +vit upgrades on the sword.

Finished it off today - the shield doesn't auto upgrade, you have to go back to Jalzahn and upgrade it from the new menu. It counts as an Animus for the achievement and has a shiney yellow/white glow. Album: http://imgur.com/a/7kSaa#0

My main will be totally fine with a levi weapon.

Grats mate. Can I just ask though, as I've heard different things. Do you need both shield and sword relic equipped or just the sword?

Grats on RNG luck. I usually get 1 every 5 hours. 2 so far after giving up multiple times or having to go to work.

One question: can you delete completed book? as it doesnt auto-disappear from key item bag when completed. Also Gz getting animus shield completed :>

I used both the sword and shield, since I didn't have any others to use. I've heard you only need the sword equipped, but you need both the sword and shield to be Zenith for the Atma upgrade.

The book will disappear when you buy your next one. Haven't risked deleting one, since there's not really any point.

Finished my first Book today +2 Vit on the shield, getting +2 STR one to get it to Animus for the bonus Block rate and Block strength.

Jealous :( I spent about 8hrs in Upper La Noscea and still don't have Atma from there. Probably take your advice and switch zones once in awhile

East was my 4th.

I've been working on East Shroud as my second one, have spent about 12 hours there so far over this past weekend and no luck. My first was in North Shroud and I got it in 3 fates, so I'm definitely sad. Completely anecdotal observation, I've had 2 other FC mates that have also been stuck for a long time(15+ hours) in East Shroud, though I have seen it drop for folks so it's definitely dropping.

I have about 20 of those proto keys from the beastman fate atm =p
