Insanity. I decided to practice on three star Popoto Pancakes before I dove into the more expensive three star recipes. Any two star rotation you thought you had mastered no longer applies. For to complete the progress bar alone requires:
Ingenuity II + Careful Synthesis x4 + Ingenuity II + Careful Synthesis x3
It's quite ridiculous. (^_^ ;; )

That's still 20 more Durability used (non-Waste Not) and 52 more CP required compared to Two Star recipes. It completely obliterates your Inner Quiet -> Byregot's Blessing rotations and that amount of CP isn't easy scrounge up with no new CP gear. -

I'm a "builder of the realm" and I'm actually happy that it's difficult to craft HQ gear. It actually adds value to the gear you craft (even though crafted gear is not close to end game gear). Also, in order to have a good chance of HQ you would need to use HQ materials. Kind of makes sense to me

Just answer this one question: is there something inherently wrong with needing to use HQ mats? Because back when the whole 100% HQ from NQ craze was starting, I thought it was silly that HQ mats were effectively useless. They're supposed to be High Quality for a reason.

I was able to do it without any over-melded crafting gear (let alone penta-meld, heck even had some free slots) and the basic CZ/IQ/SH2/HT/ToT spam method by using food to reach the minimum criteria, and still never failed out of about 30 items made like that. Sure, I had to use HQ base mats where possible, but it was NEVER hard.Quote:

I thnk they are trying to make it harder to 100% HQ's on 3 star recipes as it should be, it should be 50/50 on luck and skill as it is.
I am fine with this, it will actually make HQ items more rare and more sought after. -

People saying it's easy to HQ new stuff + saying there's no set rotation = There actually is a set rotation. There will always be a set rotation.
But if they told you it, they wouldn't be making as much money, so there's that. -

Been wondering, with 391 craftsmanship, the minimum to make 3 stars, do you really need 3 CS2's under Ing2 to finish?
445*(1-5/9)/2 = 98.888 progress per CS2 to 2 shot the remaining portion. So you really do need 3?
Edit... Just tried a 3 star cul recipe, with 392 craftsmanship under Ing2, CS2 gives 70 progress... Yeah, no way to 4 shot it.
The crafting simulators seem to model progress fairly will for 3 star recipes, if you set the item level to 53, and dont use any ingenuity buffs. That said, even with say 424 craftsmanship, using a +32 craftsmanship food, it says we'll still only get 76 progress...
Well, ingame, at 416 craftsmanship, I am getting 75 progress under ing2. If we assume its a linear relationship, then we get 0.208 progress/craftsmanship... (99-70)/0.208 = ~140... We would need to add 140 craftsmanship over the min value to craft the item to do it with 2 CS2's.

Why not just ask SE to make Basic/Standard Synthesis 50% success rate, if so many of you are so concerned about rarity? Truth is, you're only concerned about exclusivity and being alone on top of the mountain.
3-star recipes are welcome but not releasing more iLv 70 gear to bridge that gap is a huge error on the devs' part.
