Please give us an option to entirely disable battle music!

I love the music in this game and after hearing some of the new music coming for 2.2, I really want to be able to enjoy it while being immersed in the world. What's the point of creating this wonderful music for dungeons if it's only going to be overwritten by the generic battle theme for 80%+ of the dungeon? Anyone else feel the same?

I love the battle music i just wish there was more different versions of it i tend to zone out now when i hear the same music over and over again. And then i just strat listening to 2NE1 or J Soul Brothers. And then music by Yuki Kajiura the person who produced the music for Sword Art Online one of the best Japanese composers/producers.

Obviously you've never played another FF game before, which have the same general battle theme repeated for normal battles throughout the entire game, with only special story-based battles often having unique themes. And besides, most dungeons don't even have BGM, apart from an initial short leitmotif right at the start that then fades into silence after a few moments.

And yes, I actually like the 'normal' battle theme, even if I do miss the old 1.0 normal battle themes like Quicksand and The Forest's Pulse. But it's possible Soken may bring them back at a later date, who knows?

I really want the dungeon themes to loop, at LEAST have Pharos Sirius's theme loop. It's criminal that it gets overwritten by the battle theme that plays in everything already...

Yes because the other FF games are all like FFXIV and it needs to be completely modeled after them and follow their music cues. Let me laugh harder. We (the community) make this game what it is. Our input is valued (in general) and can cause change. That is the purpose of this topic. Throwing around words such as "Obviously you've never played another FF game before..." is just plain ignorance.

Why would a FF game be modeled after other FF games? Guess what? Your Dragoon was modeled after the Dragoons of old, especially in terms of armor design.

Well, have you? Did you even play 1.0 or 1.23? Or XI? While older FF games very rarely changed battle themes (normal), XI, 1.0 and 1.23 had varied battle themes, ARR is more of a throwback to old. Also, how could you hear the music when the game isn't even up?

Check the FFXIV reddit. Also, they give us an option to turn off mount music, so why not battle music? My point was, FFXIV isn't like a single player FF of old. It's constantly changing and growing with input from the community.

The repetitious battle music was the reason I turned the game's music off entirely, which is a shame considering how good some of them are, like Garuda's theme.

Agreed. Some of the dungeon tunes are great. Would like to turn off battle music. I often go into dungies with my own music tho.

And in those same Final Fantasy games, there have been moments where the field music plays even when you enter battle (Someday the Dream will End).

Exactly my point.

In "Lost City of Amdapor" we can listen the dungeon music during the entire dungeon (except boss fights). There in no combat music. Thank you Square-Enix.

But they need to do the same with the other dungeons. "Pharos Sirius" has a amazing theme.

Give us an option to loop the music please. I'm begging this since alpha phase.

I just wanted to Data swap the battle music with FF8's "Man with a Machine Gun".. i cant with FFXIV :/
