Just let it be, otherwise it's Drama Central.
They obviously don't value you as a member, if you make your complaints known it'll just make you look even worse in their eyes. If you feel this way you should leave on good terms, don't need to give a specific reason why, just "Hey thanks for all the fun, but I think I want to try other FC's, it's not you... it's me"
That way if you run into them again later, it's on good terms, and you'll find a place that values you more down the line.
who cares what you do? its a game and who cares what rank you are in the FC it doesnt really matter. Being promoted not being Promoted none of it matters. Just play the game as long as you get to play in the raids thats all that matters. You are just QQing over nothing.
OP, I hope this isn't the FC Xusecer Val'torn is in because we can see what it is via the character's Lodestone profile.
I'll answer as an FC Leader myself.. and this would be in terms of my FC..
When people leave my FC i will often send them a tell asking them why they left and what I could do to improve my FC and I am often taken by surprise that the problem they had went un noticed by me.. that's because it's a big FC and I have coverage of just UK prime time.. so i don't see everything..
the reason I am telling you this is for my next point.. tell your FC Leader your concerns.. unless he is purposely rejecting you and making it known that you personally are being rejected, its possible he hasnt noticed that this has happened.. make known your commitment to the FC and that you think you can help and what you could do as an officer.. being a casual FC i would love people to come to me like that, might be different for hardcore..
final suggestion:
when you get your answer delete your OP because we can use the Lodestone to check your FC (or request it to be deleted by admin as people can probably figure out context from replies)
ps.
seriously other repliers.. take a lesson from Thumper in Bambi.

Have a little heart, people. Help someone with the problems they're having. Just because you're hiding behind the anonymity of the internet doesn't give you the right to be outright insulting to someone. "Grow a pair of balls" and offer a little helpful advice for a change.
Personally, I would get whoever is in charge in a private conversation and tell them that you're feeling a little shafted. Explain why you feel the way you do but in a polite way. Try not to say things like "You are doing such and such thing", stick to "I feel this way because this and this happened".
I don't see why you both can't be promoted. Let your FC leader know that if they do decide to promote you, they still have the option to demote you if they feel you are starting to abuse your power.
Idk, that's how I'd handle it probably.
Umm so why does this post sound like something in real life when it isn't, i.e. you are working at a job in real life and someone else got promoted?
Care to please elaborate why this promotion of an in-game "company" matters so much? You still have access to fancy new i110 gear, new coil new content. So what good would the promotion to do you?
Doesn't take asking, your name and server are to the left of your post, and searching it on the lodestone shows your FC, including memberlist and ranks for members.
It's a game, if you're not enjoying it, then you're doing it wrong. If you have that much of an issue, have a talk with the leader and/or seek out another FC.
As others have said, its a game. Being an officer in an FC matters less in this game than any other game I have even seen, just because there isn't much you can do with FCs that you can't do with a linkshell. Unless you are super housing fan #1.
As others have said indirectly, it sounds like your FC leader doesn't think you deserve a promotion. And to be completely candid, its probably because you are the type of person that will go to the official forums to complain about not getting a promotion in a video game.
If that's the case, I would just leave because I feel like your personality isn't going to mesh well with theirs. Nothing that either of you are necessarily doing wrong, but it just sounds like it might not be an excellent fit. I would talk to other FCs before you leave, though, as the next FC you join may end up being an even worse fit!
I'll also answer as an FC leader.
FC's, however limiting they are, are there to help build community.
Therefore, it's important that FC members feel welcome and valued.
However, there is a good chance that your FC leader and FC mates may not even realize these things are bothering you.
My FC on Goblin is a very casual FC.
I'm not on 24hrs a day and to be honest, when I am on I may not see/catch everything.
I would suggest talking to your FC leader and FC mates. Just take care not to sound abrasive. You don't want to create drama in a situation that could be a simple misunderstanding.
Regardless of what certain other players say, if you feel frustrated or unwelcome you should probably look for a different FC- or make your own.
It's your time and you should be happy with how you spend it.
Best of luck! ^^
This is the correct answer if you want to stay in the FC and have relationships with members that you want to retain. Also, by approaching it in this manner (and being diplomatic), it leaves your leaders to set the tone. If they give you a hard time, you get an idea of how you're valued in the FC. If they can give you an honest reason why you've been passed over and are equally as diplomatic about it, you then have to decide if not being in leadership is a deal breaker for staying in the FC.
There are a number of underlying factors that could make or break the decision, and only you'll be able to address those as we can't know what your relationship is like with the people in your FC. But just be honest, polite, and understanding and hope that is what you are greeted with in return.
First step is to buy some ball seeds from your local farmer's market. Next, make sure you have fertile soil with easy access to water in an area with lots of sunlight. All you do then is plant the seeds, water occasionally, and in a few weeks you'll have bountiful bunches of balls just ripe for the picking!
Happy to help!
sounds to me like you are a nice, helpful player, make your own FC and i would join for sure, im pretty your charisma will gain followers.
Thanks for the advice so far guys it has been a help. :D
I have taken it up in private chat but I keep getting lame excuses like "I don't know you've died recently" or my favorite "You've been sooo good, but my friend just joined"
and I don't really care if any can see what FC im in b/c the actual leader had been MIA for a while now. So someone else has been taking over for him. The power I think has went to that person's head.
I think I'm gonna leave and find somewhere that will appreciate what I can offer and bring to the table while playing this game.
Make sure you keep your resume up to date and secure some references for your next FC application.
Maybe they just don't think you are officer material? It doesn't seem like you are effectively making your opinions known to your FC. Being a officer often means you have to successfully communicate to others. People need to listen to what you say by means of your ability to get your thoughts across.
You may have lots of good ideas, but if you aren't getting them across, then what good do they do? It doesn't mean that beating your FC over the head for not listening is going to change anything.
It doesn't mean you couldn't be a effective officer somewhere else. Maybe the people you are wishing to lead are people that would not be receptive of you.
Some people are born to lead, others have leadership thrust upon them. I don't think a good leader is always the person who wants to lead. Most good leaders would rather not be in charge because they know how much work it really is. It's not all glory and rainbows!
I think you should move on if your efforts are going unnoticed! I wish you the best!
On a side note these forums are just down right sad, some one posts a genuine question seeking help and gets berated with ill advice and just overall rude comments very few seriously want to help, (I myself don't take the game very seriously on the FC side of things promotion wise even considering I am the highest rank in my FC to my leader) still some ppl enjoy the little things in this game and to them being overlooked after contributing in their FC and seeing others promoted is very rude and not cool at all!
Now that said speaking up for yourself isn't a bad idea if you feel mistreated let your leader know, if he/she has and issue move on this is a game no need to have drama in playing something that should be fun!
I guess the real question is what would a promotion offer you that you don't currently have in game? I'll admit my fc is small and I'm an officer but if I was a boot I'd love the fc just the same. If it gives you something like access to be in say a higher level play fc static then I can understand it offers something. The bottom line is if you don't like the people who you associate with in game then switch fcs. If you enjoy playing with the people in the fc maybe lay off the expectations a bit and it will come when it comes.
Depends if you in a set party with them and are you getting anything out of it, like what I mean being told to pass something for others then you move on without you getting anything only getting something sometimes.
Also because his friends get promoted might mean bad news for anyone not just you, meaning favoritism is gonna happen, trust me I was in a shell like that in FFXI was lied to and friends were put ahead and I showed up more than most of them and was skipped for loot even though I had more DKP and even screwed out of masamune when I was main samurai. I have a serious hard time trusting anyone now.
If you are raising your concerns and getting brushed off then that is an issue beyond simply what rank you have in the FC. With the new patch FC ownership will pass on automatically if the owner hasn't logged on in 35 days, but it sounds like it will just pass to the person you are having an issue with so things will probably only get worse.
There are 840 free companies registered on Famfrit so there is almost certainly one that you would get along better with. Famfrit FCs
If you see players being generally helpful while wandering around or strike up any good conversations, ask them about their FC. We've "stolen" a few people just by being nice and helpful.
again thanks for your help guys it has helped. I think I will leave and find somewhere else.
We are the Thirsty Turtles. All of our ranks are named after turtle species. I'm a Snapping Turtle cause I often have off cycle PMS. Our new members are called Mud Turtles. If you're in England, you're a Pond Turtle. We have a Bog Turtle cause he's constantly talking about is bowl movements...I could go on but my point is the ranking system doesn't really matter. Just do what makes you happy while you play the game. :D
Yea rank on its own doesn't seem to matter except for housing. However, if this involves raiding/looting/priority for statics/anything actually gameplay related this is unfortunately what happens when people get entrenched, especially in MMOs. Too much of that "I got mine, why should I help you (if I don't know you personally) get yours?"
But, it's kind of just innate with human nature, it's why corporate law has rules against self-dealing as an example (a Board of Directors has fiduciary duties to ALL shareholders and normally can't engage in self-dealing). The better FCs tend to have enough people that don't get entrenched into statics/close "core groups"/same group of people in power and don't have the mentality of "F you, I got mine, don't need you anymore."
Being promote mean they recognize and appreciated your contribution which I believe what OP really seeking.
As someone who has experience leading a clan, this worries me.
Why have you been passed over for promotion?
Does the leadership just not see what you are doing? Are you playing with the FC enough? Are you as helpful as you say you are? Does the leadership just not like you? Have you said/done something that could tip the leadership off to you not being what they are looking for in an officer? Are you being acknowledged as a valued member of the FC at all?
Whenever my clan has an officer position opening up, we don't just award someone the position because he was promised it; we look for who is best at the job, officers recommend who they think is best and have a leadership vote to see who gets it. If any officers have an issue with someone being promoted, the issue is examined and weighed against their merits. People who do not "show" us that they are good officer material will not be promoted; whether its because they don't play with the larger clan a lot, they have an attitude we don't want in an officer, or another reason.
Not trying to flame but..
1.have you done anything to stand out to your leader?
2.do you help lower/newer characters with content?
3.are you a active endgame raider(coil extremes etc)?
4.do you offer advice/suggestions to help fc/new members grow?
5.are you a highly active member
If the answer to 4/5 of these questions is yes then you deserve a promotion
If the answer is no to more than 2 you may want to reconsider your attitude toward deserving a promotion
As I said not trying to flame just something to think about
Oh I have. I'm active everyday and do help the new recruits. I myself have brought in about 1/3 of the members there. While i'm not end game yet, i'm close and I do and usually help out with dungeons runs whenever possible. Not to mention I'm one of the active MB members and have brought in and contributed a large sum of gil. I have suggested some things to improve the company, but allot have been ignored. So yes I can answer yes to questions 1,2,4,and 5
And thanks to everyone who has given helpful advise. It has helped my decision process immensely. :)
Thanks I might. I'm still in the process of finding and choosing a good FC that I might fit into.
Edit:
BTW is there anyone recruiting that wants an active member, I would really appreciate anyone that could give me more info about there Company :)
Edit:
Thanks for the suggestion below :)
