Can't unlock AK because AV is too laggy - advice please

Hi all,

I'm trying to complete two quests here.

1 - Is for the relic quest line to unlock AK but I need to complete AV. I can't because of the lag in AV.

2 - I can't rank up within Twin Adders because I can't complete AV due to the lag.

Am I really stuck because of this? Can I unlock something so I can progress anywhere?

you used to be able to unlock it from the grand company, however, i believe this is no longer the case

Yeah, I've just read it could be unlock through GC but this was changed to AV in a patch? Is this correct?

AV has been laggy for me and all who I ever asked since weeks, it's impossible to complete it.

Sadly, unless SE does something to it, people won't stop do farming it (cause of the lag)

Because of this, I currently can't make any progress in terms of these quests for my character.

Is it cause of people farming the first room for EXP that it's so laggy?

Wait for the patch and cross your fingers?

Not that that will necessarily help with lag, but it might mean they're making other changes to instance servers as well.

So that's why it took us so much time to complete it the other day... this may help some of you, we helped a friend to pass it like a week ago, we went prepared with an optimal set up, war, sch, smn and brd, none got a 90k but our tank (the friend we were helping) had lots of trouble evading breaths.

I was helping with heals as smn and had titan out to help the tank and keep the boss in case she died.

Except for the tank, the rest of us were ilvl80-90.

We tried again last night. The lag was too much that it was affecting heals.

Pretty much blame the fact that people moved from FATE farming to first room AV farming and since the instance servers are split up to try and even out the original large load, lots of people spamming a single dungeon will lag it out. Same happened back in the day to AK.

You can always farm Titan HM for the weapon. Some of the Titan weapons are better then the base relics (Bard is one of these)

I'm trying to do this for my alt character, but sadly people are terrible at Titan HM

Are you sure it's network lag and not a an FPS issue in the area?
I know a lot of people who refer to FPS drops as "lag" and I experience an FPS drop in the zone myself.

As a BLM, My skills would constantly be interupted despite not moving an inch, I use Swiftcast and it doesn't apply until several seconds later which I've always wasted on a Fire 1 instead of Fire 3. Popped Convert, Raging Strikes, nothing happens. Unable to interact with the plants until AFTER you're dead. I imagine healers have it much worse, especially if you're a WHM (I think Eos still tries to heal the tank)

It's not an FPS issue. It's literally a massive server strain issue

Correct, you keep healing and healing and healing and nothing happens at all. Click on fruit also nothing happens...

Yeah as a WHM it was insane to heal and we gave up after the second boss. My cures would interupt each other like how it was during alpha and esuna had some insane lag on it.

I also cast a protect and it didn't trigger for 8 seconds. That's unplayable xD

The AV Room 1 farming would be the seemingly obvious reason for the lag but it does seem odd given how the Duty Finder system has been explained in the past. Each dungeon is given a maximum number of concurrent instances so that no one dungeon can usurp all the available total instances. Unless the DF Server cluster itself is jammed to the tits (which I imagine it is at times on the Primal and Chaos data centers), then the only issue that would occur from the room 1 farming is AV having wait times for reserving instances. Unless of course the room 1 spam is happening so fast that the server is having issues keeping up with loading and unloading the AV data.

They have nerfed AK enough to where it should've remained final Grand Company trial. I feel really sorry for new players having to deal with this ridiculous lag issue in AV.

They're doing major work to the instancing system within the game come 2.2, it's why we have a 25-hour maintenance on Wednesday.

I can confirm that AV is pretty laggy. The other night, I thought I had used LB at 25%--saw the animation and everything. We beat boss and the LB bar is still full. I asked pt if they saw the full bar. They did. I asked if they saw LB go off. They didn't. Fortunately, I am not levelng anything anytime soon again

AK was a GC trial?

Completed this as a favor for a FC friend today with barely 2 minutes left on the clock, we had lag, we died amny times but we persevered.

Yeah, queued up for AV yesterday or the day before while trying to finish leveling up SCH. I'm astonished that we managed to win without wiping on anything because of how bad the lag was. 3-4 second delay when trying to use the fruit, spell/ability casts would just disappear if the lag happened and you tried to use something else after it before it registered, the tank would be on the other side of the arena from Coincounter and would still wind up getting hit, and so on.

It's not undoable as it currently is but it's pretty close to it.
