Nothing to fix. The bonus is for the class in need. Tanks are in need 95% (or more) of the time. SE can't fix the class population imbalance.
Should be more random since I don't need tank bonus exp. Like I should only see dps and healer choices.
I'm not sure you understand what that bonus is.
The bonus is usually additional gil or GC marks to the person who queues up for that DR under that job. It reflects the most in-demand job based on existing queues as an incentive to get parties formed more frequently.
Someone that doesn't understand why SE came up with duty roulette (albeit not a perfect solution, it's a complicated problem to begin with anyways) and complains it needs a fix that would defeat it's purpose, lol.
I understand fully I just want to see more randomness than just tank. The bonus I want is exp I don't care about the seals or gil. Why I don't queen as a tank because its not going to help me if I'm dps or a healer.
You said you understand but it doesn't seem like you do. If it's random, no tanks (other than you) would have an incentive to queue up as tanks. The EXP bonus is there so people would be compelled to level tanks.
BTW u get the bonus exp anyway the added tank bonus is only a few hundred exp the main chunk is just for doing the roulette once a day
The needed class bonus is very small (I think I usually get about the same amount of exp for that as I do for killing the boss) and goes to the most needed class at the time. As far as I've seen it is working as intended from a technical standpoint. I'm not sure if it's been at all successful as a motivator.
Its suppose to make more people feel inclined to play as a tank so duty finder ques are reduced for dps and healers. Not provide just some random bonus for anyone no. If your queing as a dps your BONUS is being able to get in faster.
OK think of it like this as ANY CLASS you get bonus exp as NEEDED CLASS u get a extra little bonus on top
It's really not that complicated
This system, which has been in use since Burning Crusade for MMOs, I think, has never made any sense. It was silly to put in this game as it's been proven to have no effect, people avoid playing tanks because of the responsibility/leadership role of them, a scant bonus reward has never and will never influence this much.
Barring mechanical changes, if you want to give that little push to make more tanks, then my advice based on 11 years of MMOs would be:
- Leveling/New Players: Highlight in-need roles at character create, grant bonus XP for playing them, enforce Guildhests so new ones learn properly.
- Established players: Reduce cost of tank equipment so it's taken up more as an alt. This game already has a huge problem where it has the WoW cap/lockout system conflicting with FFXIs job swapping, this would at least ease the pain in gearing an alt and encourage more of them to be tanks.

if u were to run as any other class u would miss these rewards but still get the huge 1x chunk of exp at the end
