Your favorite Monster!

From any FF game, please tell everyone what your favorite monster is and the reason why.

I personally like the FFXII version of the Bomb because they just look a lot more deadly than they looked in the other games.

Why? They are just so darn cute. Dat noise they make is. :3

They're also extremely dangerous - don't let their cute looks and baa fool you, they can tear an entire troop of Yellowjackets to pieces. As one Yellowjacket soldier says when a certain FATE in Middle La Noscea fails (and it will if no one participates): "Running away from sheep. Now I'll never make sergeant." ;)

Why they need to change this iconic monster into something less interesting every time. Wish our Cactuars looked like the classic ones.

I like the FF8 version of Jumbo Cactuar.

For favourite though...Gilgamesh from FFXIII-2. I know the first thing I did when I got FFXIII-2 was to buy the Gilgamesh DLC. I enjoyed that fight tremendously.

FFXI/XIV Apkallu for sure.

I don't classify Gilgamesh as a monster, if you do, then Gilgamesh is my favorite.

Otherwise I'll chose Tonberry!

I was half expecting them to turn into what the pixies/faeries were in FFXI. Having them assist us only if we don't massacre them.

I could be mistaken, but I could have swore I also saw some of the old 1.0 elementals models in some sort of cutscene in ARR. However, all the ones on the fields are modeled after the FFXI elementals.

Also, surprised no one said Goblins or Goobbues yet.

For me personally, it is a close one between Coeurls (Any series; XIV coeurls look cool) and Tulfaires (XI), but Ill go Tulfaires. They look cool and molted plumage is an awesome ready move on the jug pet.

How did this thread go so long without mentioning the wondrous Goobbue?

In terms of overhaul redesign though, I really liked the Malboros from FF12.
They were kinda cute and the way they open up when you approach them was really cool.
