I find the new yellowish orange ground aoe markers are much harder to see when compared to the old red aoe ground markers.
Can we get an option in the game to use the old red markers what were in the patch before 2.16?

1) PS3 limitations
2) If you zoom out, they tend to appear somehow red again.
im i the only one who see the new yellow AOE markers are better than red?
i dont know why, but i prefer the new one at the moment.. :O especially in Odin.. ><
Personally I found the color red just stands out way more against all color grounds. The Yellowish/orange color that it is now is hard to see in certain zones, but I never have a problem seeing the red one.
The new ones are definitely better as more movement is easier for the eyes to catch
on a serious note, i think it would be cool if there is an inner circle moving towards the outer circle
in relation to the time you have to get out.
and when the inner circle reaches the outer circle, the AOE hits.
I don't think the new ones are better, to me in every instance I have done with aoe they are harder to see in my personal experience. That's why I asked can we have an option to switch it from the old ones so that people who like the old ones better can use those and if you like the new ones better you can keep them the way it is.
the yellow markers which looks orange-ish does prove to be more outward then the red before hand, especially in Odin Fate, also in Garuda EX and other, seems fine to me.. not sure what is the issue is.
As someone who is severely colourblind I am loving the new ground markers
Let's just not have any telegraph ground marker at all because apparently SE can't please everyone. /thread
How about they just give us an option to change the aoe color to what ever we like. That way everybody wins.
(But the ps3 players)
:x
tranpararency slider while they're at it.
I like the way it is now, but maybe it would be a good option that you can change the color of the aoe mark, like when you change color of target enemies, names, etc. ^^
They coud let us choose the color! Like we coud choose it on the FF menus on the old FF titles! And the inner circle moving coud be an option too!
Jokes aside, I don't know what's up with this areas. Everyone assumed when they appeared that they were wildstar areas, but they're not. So... What's up with that inner circle? We had few shining lights and we had to add more? :D
i like new ones better but they could just add both as an option in config
I would like the option to choose red or gold color. I prefer the old red color.
Eventhough I didnt initially like the new colour scheme, they have grown on me quite quickly and I am now used to them and quite prefer them to the old red.
IMHO some things just like this can be put down to... it works and was put in place to help those who are colour blind (a good important thing IMO) and if it had been in place from day one then this thread wouldn't exist lol.
I don't think they will spend the time and effort to add a colour change option at this time though, but I see the op's point. Hopefully the vast majority of us are okay with the change so far, can take it in hand, and concentrate on asking the devs to improve other aspects of the game :D
It's not a good change though...
Desert? yellow on yellow makes it impossible to see.
Ice? Yeah, no benefit there for colorblind people.
Water? People said it would be visible, but it's not. It becomes this terrible light shade of green in a blue/green colored piece of water...
Please bring back the RED... At the very least as an option (that everyone will take)
Like its going to make you play any better with the old one. The only time I find the color a problem is on bard AOE on top of it.
I think it may have been changed because red on a green floor (grass terrain) is difficult for people whom are colorblind to distinguish between.
I hate to be negative-nancy here, but is this better then?

Colorblind people can more easily destinguish Red on a Green Floor now (which was perfect to us), in exchange, both kinds of people are now virtually unable to see targeting markers in the sand. White snow and a light yellow targeting marker isnt noticable either... And in Water... yeah, such a vague green hue that's easily missed entirely.
Colorblind:
+ Gained the ability to more accurately notice Red in grassy area's.
- Lost the ability to see targeting markers in Sand entirely.
- Made it really hard to see targeting markers in Snow.
- Made it hard to see targeting markers in water.
Not Colorblind:
- Lost the ability to see targeting markers in Sand entirely.
- Made it really hard to see targeting markers in Snow.
- Made it hard to see targeting markers in water.
Excellent Trade-off.
In other news, i understand a job opening is now going to open up in the adjustment planning for UI changes. I'd like to apply and take over the job of who ever thought up this idea.
I dont really mind the pulsing, but im not sure i like the yellowish tan color. The color doesnt make it look urgent and dangerous enough like the red did. And doesnt stand out as much on certain landscapes. But I guess the pulsing effect takes care of the urgency part. Ehhh I'll learn to live with it.
Such impressive arguements. I cant help but feel totally blown away by your intuitive facts and counter-arguements offering so many valuable points of information that offset every single point i have just made. It cannot possibly be that you're a gladiator when such words could only have come from the mouths of the wisest of scholars. Why, the knowledge and discussive prowess that flow from your mind unto the internet must baffle and amaze everyone.
Yeah Orange is harder for me to notice in certain area, didnt had issuse with red.
I dont understand why they cant put it in optional as in let us choice one whichever we like instead of let us get used one then force us using other one..
(this is not targeted towards you personally, i just took your post as placeholder for the many ones alike)
Really, it's kinda sad how many people defend the system as it is now, forcing just one possible option on everyone...
Personally, i had no problem with the old red rings (yes, not even when tanking Brayflox), and i don't have a problem with the new yellow/pulsing ones...
The point is, this is a game for many people, and many people have many different tastes.
I really don't get why so many posts in this thread (and the other one about this issue) are like:
"They are better now! Learn to adapt to changes."
instead of:
"Yeah... making it possible to choose a colour you like (or can see) and toggle on/off the pulse effect would be the right thing to please everyone."
All the OP is asking for is the "OPTION" for everyone to change them the way they prefer...
And as i say, i don't have any problem with the markers right now, but if i had the "OPTION" i would prolly turn them back to the way they were before.
So yes, please, PLEASE, give us the "OPTION" to change the markers the way we want.
More options to personal customize UI elements is a good thing, and i really cannot understand how ANYONE can be against that...
Oh, look! It's this thread again.
I'm trying to find what makes it so much more special than the others talking the same thing, but...
All I can find is that title that makes it impossible to see whether it's a question or not. Maybe the "?/" key on OP's keyboard is broken?
New ones are better.

The only harder to see spots for me are the Sagoli Desert during daytime (I was leveling an alt there and the auras on the sand made them feel damn near invisible if not for the pulsing), and Turn 1's intro ADS fight with the orange-ish crystal, not that that encounter is particularly difficult. Other than that its not really detrimental/bad to me. Those spots may need improvement, or consideration in the future for other bright desert areas that could be added.
Options are bad because it would mean their original vision is wrong and I can't take that because I love this perfect flawless videogame so much, you're wrong because my feelings for a game tell me so.
