For those of you that were feeling stuck on Legacy worlds.
yes, YES, finally i can ruin other markets with my ridiculous amounts of gil.
j/k. and i'll stay anyways.
but that's great news to several players that were stuck on legacy servers.
Yes!
Would be nice if they give us a free transfer period like the new people got.
Not happy about this tbh... It's nothing against legacy players, it just puts me off when I see people with mounts and items that are impossible for me to obtain.
Think that will stop a lot of people.Quote:
Furthermore, characters can only transfer 1 million gil, while retainers can only transfer 100 thousand gil. Please be aware that excess gil will be lost.
* Depending on economic conditions, the amount of gil that may be transferred with a character may be subject to change.
Think he means the legacy mounts, white ravens, etc...
As for that last bit...I'd like to think it was more YoshiP and his vision for 2.0 than it was the legacy players subscription fees for our ability to explore Eorzea and forge the bonds we have to our characters, our linkshell/free companies, and the friends we made along the way.
Legacy players transfering to non-legacy realms reminds me of fallout, when those vault doors open to wasteland. Anyway welcome to those that will transfer! :)
Or transfer with items that have a guaranteed value which you can hand in for gil quickly.
On my server one person was buying Allagan Bronze, Silver and Goldpieces for a little over their NPC value so that they could transfer with most of their fortune intact.
If you are transfering with multiple millions a couple 10k loss should be negligible and it's easier than figuring out which items are of equal or better value on the markets.
Apart from that, the market is too unreliable for a strategy like this at the moment.
I, for one, welcome our new Legacy Overlords.
I'm happy on Balmung, thanks.
Yeah I'm pretty sure everyone on a legacy server has more than 1mil gil so it's a non-event lol.
Nope, currently I am looking at about 65k gil. (Plus some stuff on the marketboards and a stable income.)
Granted, I am not a Legacy player myself and over the last few months I have invested all my gil in leveling up my crafting jobs and melding my crafting and gathering jobs.
Which, if we all add it up, does come to several million gil.
I'm not sure what to think about it. Economy on no-legacy worlds might have time to madure but is still deflationary. Last thing we need is some guys coming with even more HQ crafted gear + hundreds of philo crafting items or any other thing to make prices even lower cause they want to transfer part of their millions selling items here.
I only woud be totally OK with it if they coud only transfer that million and all his items become binded. But...well, it's not my choice :D
I wonder if Legacy servers will see an influx of people because of this. Don't they have the more stable markets? Any legacy player coming to my server to sell things will be greatly disappointed. ^^;
I think they've actually timed it as best as they could since i90 crafted gear is about to kick in. The potential influx of money is going to be met by desirable new gear to spend it on and hopefully a market boost all the way down the chain due to the boosted market for materia.
Nope, because it was possible for those players to get the event items.
I'm not "butt-hurt" at all o.o But actually, since you've raised the subject, its not because of Legacy players why this game came to be at all... Its because of all the people who STOPPED playing the game. Legacy players had nothing to do with it.
I'm sorry, but you're not a special snowflakeâ„¢.
