[Survey] Do you want more retainers? Would you be willing to pay for them?

Ok, i know the game is free still and stuff...but i do want to be able that, since MW already seems stable enough, to be able to buy extra retainers already.

You know...this would not only help players managing their items but also would make the game start giving you guys some money so we can start having things going faster! ^^

For those who don't feel like paying for extra retainers things wouldn't change at all....so no one would be harmed...and for those that are willing to pay for extra retainers this would be a great addition! ^^

So, its pretty much say if you would be willing to pay for extra retainers right now or not and why! ^^ I surely would and know a some ppl that would too! o/

The constant addition of retainers is far from a fix. If every time we run out of room they add a retainer then everyone would have several retainers. I can imagine some people being like,"I need one retainer for each ward." They need to rethink the storage system as well as the market ward system. The combination of storage and selling in one spot is not exactly the best idea. Storage needs to just be storage. I worry how they are going to do this though. The fact that retainers currently hold everyone's items makes me wonder if they could ever get rid of them entirely. I don't know how they could redo the retainer system without losing everybody's items. Adding more retainers isn't a good idea considering people already are unable to summon their retainers in certain wards due to maximum capacity.

I don't want more retainers. I want a better inventory management system and a better market.

Meh, I'm fine with the retainers for storage. I'd probably be willing to pay an extra $1/mo for another 110 storage space.

As for the wards. . . I'm pretty sure you've all seen my opinions of that. No need to rehash them here.

I would prefer having one spot that I can expand as opposed to hiring more and more retainers.

Especially now that it seems there is a limit to how many retainers can be in one zone.

Instead of two retainers, just make my retainer twice as big!

I liked the idea of the stands you could set up in the market wards, but they were implemented pretty poorly. I'd like to be able to set up a shop that I can expand to hold more inventory, etc, rather than have 2-3 retainers standing around dumbly.

I'd also like to be able to train my retainers in crafting, give them a bunch of materials, and have them set up a repair shop that charges material cost + 5% service fee.

I'd also also like to be able to set FFXII-style gambits on my retainers, like "Buy fire crystals until you have <X> number of them, pay up to <Y> gil per crystal" or "Spend <Z> amount on fire shards but do not pay more than <W> per shard."

I'd also also also like retainers to restock or be able to stack similar items in bazaar. If I have 20 identical swords to sell, I'd think my retainer should be able to replace the ones she sells with the ones still in her inventory.

I'd also also also also like retainers to be manageable via an NPC linkpearl; goodness knows we have enough of those.

I'd like any of these, or an "auction" house, before I'd like yet another retainer. The whole idea of a retainer is someone you hire to manage your stuff for you. What's the point if you gotta spend so much time managing them?

That's interesting how people derail anything here. You don't need to think about amount of retainers at MW or about retainer storage space or whatelse...the thing is that the extra retainer system will be ingame (it already is even listed at monthly fee list) so i'm just asking if you would want it now or later... ^^:

Paying 1 buck for an extra retainer would be exactly the very same mechanic as having a storage mules like everyone had in FFXI...the difference is that here it all would be linked to your character so you wouldn't need to constantly logging in/out to manage stuff.

Also, the retainers are in like 10% of their potential right now...i can see it having many more extra features once they finish adjusting the current features (storage and market delay, unstability, etc).

And that's why i posted his. Would be very interesting offer SE a feedback regarding the possibility of activating the billing system of retainers if there are enough positive feedback regarding it! ^^

Well this does affect people playing currently. If one person has 6 retainers they are taking the spots of 3 people without extra retainers. How does that leave people unaffected?

You are saying not to worry about the amount of retainers in the MW because it's going to be fixed later. The fact is that if people got extra retainers now then the market wards would be broken until they got fixed.

True. I was just thinking within the limits of the current system, I wouldn't mind having 110 more storage space, even if it cost me $1 a month.

We've gone back and forth on this point before, if I'm not mistaken. Suffice to say, I don't see this ever happening. I'll just leve off by reiterating this:

No, I don't want more retainers, nor do I want to pay for them since, eventually, I'm going to be paying a full subscription to this game. XIV is not (going to be) a freemium type of game, or even close, as far as I know. I'm still getting over the fact that I had to pay extra for alts in XI (just like we have to in XIV). Admittedly it's a small price, but it's still out of my pocket, continuously over a long period of time.

The recent announced changes to retainer and ward modifications is, I feel, just going to take place till they figure out what they really want to do with retainers, as I think right now devs are clueless about that aspect of the game.

Make and auction house and turn retainers into our virtual sellers - in other words, retainer = number of items we can sell in auction house. Make quests for more retainer/AH space (or if you must) make us pay more $$$ for that instead for more new retainers. The RMT are raging with or without an AH so that's not really an excuse any more.

(and since I already started ranting :P they really need to give us a 'lock item' option for inventories, as well as 'sell all' and 'buyback' for NPC stores - selling junk items after grinding DoL one by one is not fun, nor is selling my Harlequin gear due to latency/lag/missclick)

If you think so then you might not be following dev posts. They will increase the amount of retainers per ward so nop, it wouldn't affect those not willing to pay for extra retainers.

So it should actually be an "yes", right? Because 3 bucks of an alt character with 2 retainers is the very same as 1 buck three times to have extra 3 retainers...with the difference you will have 3 retainers to be placed at MH against 2 of alt character case.

They WILL increase... You are making a survey of adding more retainers now. This is not rocket science. I follow dev posts very well.
