T5 Nerfed

I didn't see a thread on this in the first few pages (with the exception of the tank agro situation) so I figured I'd enlighten people.


-Divebomb icon now larger and more visible
-BIG Snake HP lowered (small snakes still same hp)
-Conflags hp reduced roughly 33%


and neither a buff or nerf (due to the lowered conflag hp, it's no longer needed):

-When in conflag twin will not attack you and move on to the next person on the emnity list (only really effects MT). Since conflags die so fast now, the tank doesn't need to go into it in the first place.

I'm really surprised they nerfed twin seeing as how the echo buff in 2.2 is coming as it is.


Thoughts?

A lot of people are still having problems and can't get past it, I guess?

Yes. Difficult content should be difficult. Lesser players reaping the rewards for the most difficult content makes those rewards less prestigious. I can think of a number of players who are bad DPS that will probably complete T5 this week when they never would have been capable before.

Makes me sad. I wanted to get my clear before any more nerfing happened :(

I fail to see how people is worried about this nerf when in about a month or less the content will be old.

The up I see is that people doesn't need to be even more geared for conflags, but if you still not understand the mechanics you aren't going anywhere.

As for the "divebombs nerf" about time they increased the size of the icon, I shouldn't have to turn off names and effects to see it.

Bads will still die to divebombs, get one-shotted by DS and trap half their party in conflags. All these small nerfs are doing is lowering the dps checks a bit.

I wouldn't worry about terrible players getting Allagan weapons just yet.

Yeah, none of these were the real issue in the groups I ran anyhow. It's always people dying to divebombs, or the entire group being near death by the time Twin comes back and blasts everyone dead dead dead

Cause they wouldn't be able to do it in a month when the mega nerf comes anyways? Who really cares. Most people who have been doing T5 also do the majority of endgame content with statics and FCs, and you rarely have to deal with these "bad dps" in your day to day activities. And lets be honest: Most people that share that sentiment will shame and ridicule bad dps until they quit the instance anyways, instead of actually helping them become good enough to clear the content.

And why would I pay a game where I can't experience all the content? I think the player base tends to be more casual than maybe 6-7 years ago. I personally dont want super hard things in games cause I want to play and not to get frustrated. If that transalates that I am bad I don't care take it as you want.

Echo buff is pointless then. What's the purpose of it if they continue to strip the original design away from the content.

There is plenty of content in the game for casuals. Not that this has made Turn 5 a casual thing, but what I take from you is that you don't want there to be any content that is too difficult for a casual player? I wouldn't play a game like that because there is little to achieve. The sense of accomplishment is greater when content is more difficult.

I don't want a game where all content is easy. It makes for a pointless dull experience. There needs to be content for both teams, and SQEX is definitely catering to your side.

I agree with you. Thats why in 2.2 there will be more difficult content. All your doing is getting upset over something that will change in a months time. So what it gets a tiny bit easier. More stuff is coming out.

Then don't play MMOs. Or rather, don't play MMOs expecting to do all the content immediately. There are plenty of other games out there where you can dial the difficulty down to suit your needs and not have to rely on 7 other players to do all the content.

Games like ARR need hard content just as much as they need easy content. Without hard content, there's nothing for skilled players to work towards, and without easy content, there's nothing for unskilled players to do.

The one shot mechanics are still in place those are the real hard parts of the fight.

More easy content for me to get bored and complete in a matter of weeks. Yipeeee

The way that people are getting pissed makes it sound like a fresh 50 can waltz into T5 and one shot it now. That just isn't the case. Even if some phases were nerfed, its still a 6 phase fight with a decent learning curve.

Yeah you are right but with so little content I cant agree 100%.

I just wonder where was all the /cry when Twisters were first nerfed.

SE uses Ego Hit.

Because pre nerf there was no rhyme or reason and max geared world wide #1 guilds weren't able to reliable execute the mechanic? Aka it was broken

Oh ye of little memory. That is totally wrong. Go read the BG turn5 guide back then.

T5 wasn't doable pre-nerf because anyone who caught on to the trick(BG) kept it on a tight leash and hush hush, slowly testing, confirming, and practicing twister dodging.

Everyone who was not in those top fcs, basically whined and whined so more on the forums, so it was "unbeatable".

BG did it first is because they didn't go "Move in a semi circle that does not retrace your path" posting on the web, for everyone with time on their hands practice it day and night.

I agree with people who are upset with the nerf. The thing is, we're in the era of theme park MMO's and casual gaming in general. If you try to defend hardcore content, all these casuals will bombard you with insults. SE will listen to these whiners that whine about everything - pharos sirius nerfs, king moogle primal nerfs, AK nerfs, coil nerfs, etc etc. These nerfs will keep coming because these people will keep complaining. They're the same kind of people who want to sub for a month and want to clear all content to get the most out of their money, not the experience. Hardcores want to stay subbed longer and want the most out of experience. There's an opposite way of thinking and SE is in favor of casuals because they happen to populate this game more than any other MMO. Can't blame them with these decisions because it's what they are stuck with.

Wait so.. people are upset about t5 nerf, but they got their rot strategy back since they apparently buffed t2. You cant have everything guys. Especially when casuals are now in the mmo picture. You all complain too much.

They had someone die just about every single twister cast. This is what you consider a heavily practiced mechanic by a world #1 guild?

because they finally fix T2 we should be WTF? Enrage mechanics are supposed to kill you not make the fight easier.

Eh in the case of these 2 for the target audience they were too hard.

I never did much Pharos due to not needing the gear but that place doesn't seem very "relic gear friendly"

Moogle's dps check was insane for the target players. We walked in and 1 shot it to remove the quest from our log but even then. We weren't beating the phase 1 dps check by a mile like we should have since the people that event is designed for are walking around with fresh 50 gear/weapons. By the time a group would have the gear for the dps check they would have better weapons.

inb4 Twisters cast speed and dreadknight hp nerf.

reading about a 33% reduction of conflag HP, which is a lot...

oh btw anyone ran pharos today and checked if it's already toned down? would be funny if not, since they were talking about it but never about t5 before patch 2.2

Then Turn 4's enrage should just automatically wipe everyone. Ever hear of "Soft Enrage"?

The feel of achievement is so enthusiastic on this thread, Oh noes you defeated the most difficult enemy on a make believe world, you must definitely run for President!

Really guys? All this sense of accomplishment over a game? I would wish that you would carry that attitude over to real life, you would be a very accomplished person ( because anything accomplished in real life has more value than virtual data floating in hard disks somewhere).

A game is a game is a game, once it stops the fun and the competition begins, it becomes a sport. This is NOT a sport, and even then if it was, are you winning real money to be even proud of it?

You think content is too easy? Stop playing! Go do something else!

March is my last month of FF14, because I have plans for other MMOs and I can safely say that I regret not a single penny spend on this game, but I grew bored (though still I have things I could do to kill that boredom) and I think having fun in a game is more important than competition without benefit.
