Scholar & Summoner Main Stats

Does anyone know why Arcanist doesn't have separate stats instead of shared stats for the two different jobs? Also I reset the 30 points from my Summoner and put it into Mind thinking it would be the exact same Mind as my White Mage would be use they have the same gear & they both have primal weapons but Scholar seems to have less and I double checked gear and everything scholar has like 15 less mind. I am guessing the Mnd base stat is lower in Arcanist. I am just looking for confirmation on these observations I made

Therefore just reset both and compare em naked. I think it will be the base mind that's different. Maybe you forgot a piece of equipment the other doesn't have. Also maybe the heals of SCH simply don't need the same amount of mnd to be compareable as useful, maybe they are more efficient even with lower mnd support.

I'm sure you'll find the answer among the dozens of other threads round here on precisely this subject.

Hint: it'd be kind of OP if leveling one class gave you DPS and Healing jobs comparable to the others which need two jobs leveling to achieve the same.

Arcanist has 12 less mind than Whitemage has that is the difference I found when I was naked.

Yoshi-P stated in an interview he wants players to pick one or the other, in regards to Scholar v Summoner. So put all your points in MND or INT, depending on which you want to play. They may change this in the future, who knows.

So what will the excuse be after other classes get 2nd, 3rd or 4th jobs down the road?

This effects everyone. Just because your favorite class branch only has one job now, don't assume extra jobs you get for that class in the future will have a job added that shares the same primary stat.

You think Thief or Ninja will go under Archer because they share the same primary stat? Doubt it.

Maybe a Thief would be its own class? Maybe. Maybe not?

As someone who wants to play both pet classes...its not very nice being not as efficient as possible in one of the jobs at any given time.

Give all players the ability to level the Jobs independant of the base class and let us spend the points separately. Set the precedent now before other jobs get added.

so Yoshi wants you to pick between SCH and SMN while you don't have to choose between SCH and any other job? In fact it is actually encouraged that you have an alt?
The main thing which decides how useful your alt can be is the gear not the 30 point stat allocation. If the game wants you to level up again for smn I'm fine with that but they shouldn't cripple you at end game.

if splitting your points or choosing one or the other is "crippling" your end game then you might not be cut out for the job. ive tried it on my sch with all mnd and split mnd/int.... as far as healing goes, there is no noticeable difference, im still spamming adlos at the same time, still only takes a few seconds to top of a tank with lustrate etc. i havent taken my smn into anything past titan hm but with split points i was still able to easily keep up with my end of the dps, slightly harder content may be different i guess. but im pretty well convinced that gear is WAAAAAAAAAY more important than stat allocation

30 points is a piece of gear. Would you want to push content with your friends without your chest piece on? I don't.

The armory system is flawed with this choice of stat points allocation being tied to the class and not the job.

I will gladly level both jobs from 1-50 seperately to be able to allocate stat points separately.

As an i90 Sch I have 463 mind with just 10 points allocated and the other 20 in Int for my Smn.

Four Hundred and Sixty Three. Those extra missing 20 points account for a whopping 4% of the total. And that isn't even saying I've lost 4% of my total curing potential because then you have to factor in determination and whatever formula actually determines the final cure value etc.

Those extra allocated stats people are STILL bitching about are almost inconsequential in the long run. It's little more than a faint illusion of choice in how you develop your character amongst all of the other cookie cutter aspects of playing the game. If you EVER end up in a situation where someone asks if you have all of your allocated points invested in your primary stat then that person is an anal retentive freak that needs to step away from their parser for a second.

They've said many, many times that this is how they want it to be and they won't be changing it.

It's not a big deal. If you plan on playing both classes about equally, just allocate all 30 of your points into INT so your SMN's potential max DPS is as high as possible. Healers are much, much less dependent on stats and are more about playing properly. 30 MND will not stop you from healing any fight in the game, not even Twintania.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it flawed, it is working they way it is supposed to work, heaven forbid you have to either make a choice, or farm seals to reset your points, I see you never mention that, you just keep saying you have to have one or the other, but you can have both with a little more work. The points are tied to the class, if you haven't noticed you get a stat boost when you equip your job stone, the summoner one gives 10str 11dex 11vit 20int 10mnd and 10pty, if they let you allocate your 30 points they would need to remove this, so you would what net 10 int and loose 10 piety and 11vit and the other basically worthless stats for summoner, remember they are bonus, stop acting like everything needs to be handed to you.

You could just do 15 in both... Guarantee not a single person will notice. I promise.

SCH naked has 12 less MND than WHM because CNJ gets +12mnd in traits, while ACN gets +12int in traits. That's where the difference is.

Because the stats are bound to the class and Summoner and Scholar are parts of the same class.
The soul stones give the jobs their stat boost.

30 is a larger % of your stats when your not in ilvl 90 gear

If I don't like something, I say I don't like, I don't call it flawed, example, I don't like you, but I'm not calling you flawed, and I know every class will have multiple jobs, I am looking forward to it, my only hope is that they make the Hymns sellable so I can profit off of all the people that cry about farming seals.

Search is available for a reason. I've used it in the past for this type of thing myself. It's also helpful when determining whether you should add someone to your blacklist or not.

I completely understand why previous posts were searched, I myself had the urge to search. I'm also looking forward to 6 months down the road when extra jobs are available, stemming from the same class. You can bet that I will be as stalkerish as the worst ex-girlfriend when that happens. I'll be searching everyone who complains about the stat allocation to see if they were making snide comments in any threads similar to this one :D

EDIT: It's not the disagreement part that brings out so-called 'stalkerish' behavior. It's the deliberate, snide tone that was used, just this side of reportable.

I actually encourage everyone to go back and read all my posts, I have been told much can be gained from the timeless wisdom and wordsmithery that rivals even the most advanced middle school laureates.

Lol my post blew up. I was just being observant. That being said, my Scholar and White Mage both have primal weapons and share the same gear which is myth accessories and Royal Gear. My Scholar Physick heals like an average 50 less than my White Mage which makes it minimal. My Scholar also has 42 less mind then my White Mage because I put it all in INT for my Summoner. I was just making and observation and seeing if this was brought up before about the stat allocation. Thank for helping me answer my questions and sorry if I created an argument at any time

The reason sch has less mind than whm is because archanist gets enhanced intelligence traits. This is the only real flaw that should be looked at by SE staff and change the traits to give both mind and int, either split them 50/50 or give them both 12 int/mind from the traits.

The issue isn't that Scholar and Summoner share the same stat bonuses, it's that they share the same class. The stat bonuses don't augment the Jobs, they augment the classes they are based on. When the rest of the classes get their second Jobs they, too, will have to be re-evaluated by players on where the stat bonuses need go. Likely why the stat reset item is readily available for 10,000 seals from the Companies. Too many treat Jobs as class traits and not as the pieces of equipment they really are.
