I could swear that I see people putting their weapon away, drawing it again, and the glow turns on and off. I don't have the relic weapons, so I don't know exactly how this works, but I'm pretty sure something will deactivate that glow at least temporarily.
The "glow" is only visible when the zenith relic is drawn, when they put it away it will disappear temporarily. I don't personally mind the glow that much albeit it does get annoying when people run around in Mor Dhona with their weapons drawn to "show off" said glow. The main reason for it seems to be to differentiate the original relic with it's +1 (zenith) form though, so I understand why it is included.
I've no problem with a toggle on/off option for the relic, but I do feel there are more important matters deserving of SE's attention first.
I don't get it...why would you want to turn the glow off? This is what makes the weapon bad ass!!!! If you don't want it to glow then do not get the +1. They made the weapon glow because it is suppose to be EPIC...continuing to ask them to put time into fixes like this takes away from other stuff they could be working on.
Wouldn't you rather they put this time in to say doing action while on your mounts or something similar??? I just think you are being a little to picky.
yes, you can hide the glow by using another weapon (of the same class) as a Vanity Piece.
I do that with moogle fork. Way better effect. :x
I want my relic to look like the unfinished version. It looks way better than the finished one on some instances. I wonder if we can get the model as a vanity piece.
^ hah! that made me laugh
You can already turn off the glow but it's a Legacy only feature
I support them adding this option but I do wish that it was a client side option that disables all glows for only you. That will allow people that enjoy the glows to still see them and the ones that don't want them to get rid of them. I for one think the glows look horrid for most weapons and would love to turn them off.
I think there's a good chance this will come with Glamours. I really hope so.
What will happen to the weapon when it gets its next upgrade? It shoots fire?
I can actually see the argument against the glow. Yes, it's meant to make the weapons look special-er in relation to the originals, but I think it's a little much. For some weapons the glow sort of makes sense; the orb of the Stardust Rod, the... hmm, that's it, really. The glows should have been a little more subtle, I think. Like the floor effect of King Behemoth. Not this constant beam of light with particle effects. Hopefully Glamours will let you tone them down.
Even if you don't like it, I don't get why you'd want SE to spend time on making code to turn it off.
Why do people get so up in arms about people requesting options? I hate the glow too and I would love if I had the option to.
And don't give me that "but they could develop other things!" because that can literally be said about ANYTHING ELSE being added into the game.
More special snowflakes? SE, please make my gear shiny because I feel average if I don't shine like the sun.
They could have easily done a palette swap like they did for the AF1. I prefer a palette swap since it shows without having any extra graphics that you have and upgraded weapon. I mean the glow is nice but when you spend 3 weeks pre 2.1 farming myths for a "glowing weapon" that looks exactly the same, it's kinda lame.
Absolutely not! Adding your request to the game would take away immersion.
Hell no! I like seeing my Holy Shield Zenith being overall bigger than my lala-tank.
...it was a simple thing some wanted.
I don't understand why everyone is so worked up over this. I guess it's just bored forum trolls @.@
I thought the glow was to show it's been "enchanted"? I've played games where the more you enchanted the weapon (+'d it ) the more it would glow.
Not sure if that's how they are doing it here since it's no enchanting system....but I like the glow D:
I'm not saying remove it. Just let a system be created that removes particle effects on weapons or something. Pretty simple. Just remove a glow from a base model.
If you want an option to remove the glow then I would like an option to double the glow size effect and make it uber crazy with trailing particles and afterimage each time I swing the weapon. :)
