I want to propose a little tweak to the Crystal Tower loot RNG drops because after my last run yesterday, i really want it to change
The problem :
I did a run with no dragoon on the team and first 3 boss droped dragoon's gear (Boots, Belt and pants), The last was WHM drop So while everyone in the party wanted to get a piece, no one had a chance until the last boss, this is completly a waste. It gets irritating when you don't see you loot for a long time because only loot from a class that is not even in your party drops.
The Solution :
Make the RNG drops gear that can be needed IN YOU PARTY. So no MNK?, no MNK drops, no DRG?, no DRG drops. That way, you have a chance on each drop that it will be the drop you want. No more wasted drop
The only counter argument I see with it is that the probability of obtaining your loot increase a lot and people will get their weekly loot in an 1 to 3 attempts and no-one will play CT anymore after that. Now, sometimes i (from my experience) need to do up to 5-10 runs to get a piece. But would it be that bad???
I'm throwing the idea, what do u guys think?

But then I can't gear the jobs I plan to play but not running CT with. :/ Like I'm leveling BLM right now, sure I can go on SMN but tank queues are so much faster.

Do you think a lot of people play Tank to greed everything for their alts?
In your case, you could always greed BLM gear if there is a BLM in your party. I just think that it would give more chance to everybody to get their weekly loot -

If I don't have a friend tank with me I just run it as tank to get short queue time. I greed on anything that is an upgrade for one of my alts.

This is even more true when you are missing just 1 piece to complete a set, you don't want it to be a pain in the ass of 40 CT run. You want your fair share of probability

CT is an alt-gearing paradise if you have a tank leveled. Fast queues and low responsibility. Odds are you won't even have to actually tank anything if you really don't want to. Next time you're in there, pay attention to how fast Behemoth's towers get claimed and how many maiden adds on Thanatos actually get tanked (by a tank).
There are plenty of not-really-tanks "tanking" that place, and they're the kind of person to drop group before the first pull if they queue into an alliance without the class they're farming for. Some of them might be smart enough to figure out PF or preform with the right DPS/healer.
Hard to say how badly it would effect queue times, though. That's obviously not every tank, and there are occasionally CT groups that aren't all BRD and BLM. So it might be worth the trade-off, overall. -

It's pretty sad that once you hit CT and see people who are I80-I90 you realize the gear is just for show and they have absolutely zero skill in tanking.Quote:

I show up to CT on tank sometimes when the queue is short on tanks, even though I'm after non-tank gear.
I like that CT makes it easier to get alt-job gear. If the system was as you suggest, a lot of people wouldn't bother coming as tanks/healers. -

I see a bunch of people saying "Oh but, my alt classes! I want to queue tank to get in quick, get through easy and get gear easy! Who cares if gear no one needs drops to the floor!" Just wow people. You want gear for an alt class? How about you actually play said class to get your gear? I have gone through CTs where not a single drop was looted on, and that's just pathetic. Making everyone else's time more difficult because you want to be lazy is disgusting.
Or here's a thought, how about you put your own party together? You looking to greed caster drops? Make sure you have a caster in your group.
I'm all for OP's idea, the only downside i can see is that CT partyfinder groups may alienate certain classes in order to have better chances that certain gear drops. Even then there's always duty finder, or you know, you can start your own PF group. -

The hardest part of CT is getting into CT. I've sat as healer in a CT PF group for eons waitin on 2 tanks. Inevitably, someone might offer to go as a tank, so that the party can finally get into CT.Quote:

If you say, there's always duty finder, what is stopping me from dropping the group as soon as it starts because there's no BLM/SMN in the group? Sometimes I can't play said class for gear because either:
a. I don't have said class level and just have 1 class already geared better than i80 that CT drops which means I'd either have to power level said class or waste 1 week of loot.
b. My FC group needs a tank to get going and of course I want to help them but like I said above, none of the DPS are caster. So should I ignore them, go on my usual PF for that one caster DPS so I have a chance at greeding something they don't need?
This idea is just stupid. -
