When we Blacklist could we get a option to report them to the GM.

Can we please with the blacklist function have a option also that automatic sends a report to a gm with a generic message. Like if you get gil spams, Have a option after the blacklist you can have a option from a generic list why you blacklisted them.

Instead of every time you have to go to the longer route of reporting. Can keep the long version, but also could you have a automatic version and a program on your end. When the same name get same blacklist 100's of times or what ever fair system decide. It flags for you guys to check it. Will work slower then the GM way of banning them but at least every few months they will disappear on the list.

Just do not need to have to write down afksfdsfsda type names and the rest of the stuff. Would be nice

GM way would still work like it does.

Starting fill up on blacklisted gil spams and most them have not been in deleted statis, so in time will no longer be able to blacklist again.

Every entry older than a week, most likely older than a day can be safely deleted from your blacklist.
Banned characters do not get deleted so that a similar named character cannot be remade.

Good to know. I've also been wondering why there have been so few deletions in recent weeks compared to last year.

Those (Deleted) you see are actually deleted manually by the rmt themselves.
I think they hope to avoid the banhammer by doing that.

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like a problem. Maybe when they remove these RMT /t spam bots they could notify people that they can be safely removed? That seems like lots of work, but I am just a few away from 200 black listed! I think I have about ten douche bags then about 190 RMT /t spam bots.
Reporting them feels like a meh attempt. I blist them, copy and paste a user violation report with all they require: server, date, the RMT /t spammer, and description (where I paste their /t w/ a time stamp)

We absolutely need this.

I like the right click blacklist option, but we really do need a few more right click options.

Right click "Blacklist and report" - This would blacklist them and then open the report window with the name prelisted.
Right click "View search info" - I mean honestly. Why isn't this a right click option in the text window?

Thank you for the suggestions! While we don't have a timetable for if we can implement something like this, we'll definitely take it into consideration.

I wonder if there is a way the devs to remove people on our blacklist who are removed from the game? I don't want to start removing all the RMT names I've blisted (and almost all reported)in fear of even more spam tells.

They typically don't use the same name again. I have like 10 people on my list and soon I will clear it again. If I get another message, blist.

How about making blist work on linkshell/free company invites as well? There are people who know they're blacklisted and annoy you with linkshell invite spams.

I don't bother to report spammers at the moment, but this kind of automated system would mean gil sellers etc. would be spotted a lot faster.

EDIT: I don't know if it's possible, but you could also set it up so that it automatically detects the last five lines of text sent to you from that user or something similar.

Being able to select the name of an RMT spammer and not only add them to my black list but report them in a single click has been something I had been suggestion since shortly after the game's launch last year. With the current method, I also add the time that I received the spam. It probably doesn't help, but you never know.

The ease with which we can add RMT spammers to our black lists is a step in the right direction, though.

This isn't even the easiest. There's absolutely no reason why automation shouldn't be implemented here to combat the worst of the behaviour. Some sort of automatic flag + temporary account ban that gets triggered if two conditions are coupled; say, a certain number of blacklists (5 in 60 seconds, perhaps), coupled with a certain number of messages sent (say, 30 over 60 seconds, which is faster than anyone is reasonably going to type).

To be sure, a right-click option is a good idea, and needed for what falls through the cracks, but automated measures are how you destroy (or severely hinder) RMT bots.

173 Names on my Blacklist (this is after i removed the "(Deleted)" ones). ALL of them RMT who's either spammed shout or via tells. Wish I could send them all to a report to GM somehow.

Seems a few of us have had perfectly good, easy-to-implement solutions to what we perceive as the problem. Here's mine from 4th September last year, which I still think's a great idea :)

I think what he/she means is sometimes when you blacklist someone and they realize it, they start following you around and jumping around you over and over. It's pretty silly.

well well well am i glad to move from na servers where my bl is always 200 full of gil spammers to jp servers which only contained douchebags, total scrubs and loot ninjas

The workflow for this should be:

Users blacklist someone -> Server keeps track of people who blacklist and who is blacklisted -> Server bans person after X number of blacklisters reached -> Server automatically removes name from blacklists of people who blacklisted said person.

Hello, all! This is LGM Enkrateia here. I don't mean to bump up an old discussion; however, this particular quote is related to a concern that seems to be increasingly included in RMT solicitation reports.

As time goes on, we are getting more and more RMT reports including the information that the blacklist is already full of RMT, so more cannot be added. Some reports that include a bit more information note that only prior entries that have changed to "Deleted" are being removed to make room for new entries.

I wanted to provide a bit of information and insight to address these concerns, which will hopefully help keep you from filling up your blacklist with RMT names that are never removed.

Once an account is found guilty of RMT solicitation, it is suspended indefinitely. However, the characters on that account are not deleted, since the suspension of the account is sufficient to prevent further solicitation from the account. Deleting the characters is an additional step that is not taken, since it is unnecessary, time consuming, and could result in account damage or loss in the case of a suspension that needs to be lifted, such as in the case of a compromised account used for RMT solicitation.

The blacklist is recommended as a temporary resolution to alleviate the unwanted solicitation, and is not meant to be a permanent state you place these names into. Removing the names periodically should allow us time to complete our investigation, and free up room in your blacklist if another account is used to solicit RMT.

I will be monitoring this thread to try to provide answers or insight into questions or comments about the topic of RMT reporting and handling. I do also understand that it is a very frustrating concern for many of you, and ask that you keep discussions, comments, and suggestions civil.

We are starting to get spammed by every new RMT from 3rd Company to the point, they are destroying any chat you are having with your party,Free Company or friends .

I'd like to be able to mass-select names in the blacklist so I can delete however many dozens of entries there are in one shot.

I agree. This is an issue SE needs to address. There isn't another popular mmo on the market that lacks a "report" function. It's frustrating to receive the tells in the first place. It's even more frustrating to not have a quick and easy way to report the offenses. My blacklist is filled and I've just turned off whispers in my main chat window - which is a terrible solution.

For those saying oh it's fine just delete old ones, maybe fact check first, I've done that and immediately got tells from that rmt.
It shouldn't be up to the player to fix the rmt problem , it's a core thing in any mmo to have an easy to use report feature for rmt, sadly XIV just neglect that

I'll usually go oh shit and quickly go to my friends list and cancel request cuz it'd be scary to see an RMT actually accept your friend request.

While I'm not sure about the feasibility of it, I'd like the option to blacklist an entire account rather than a single character on that account. Once a character has been sufficiently blacklisted, RMTs just make a new character on said compromised account so that they can keep using that account until the GMs take action. Being able to blacklist the account rather than the character would render that account useless to them after a single pass.

To prevent it from occurring unintentionally (since it's something of a super-blacklist), you could have it only accessible from the blacklist menu or as an option after initially choosing to blacklist someone (whether in the blacklist menu or as an option to go right alongside "remove from blacklist"). Since it would kind of screwed over people who have said compromised accounts, limit the duration of the super-blacklist to 2 weeks or so: within that period of time, the GMs should have already suspended it and an account would only remain blacklisted for a short while after the real account holder gets it back.
