How would I go about it?
To get the wind up Dalamud you need to purchase the original FFXIV soundtrack Before Meteor. Within the case you have a voucher code which you can apply to your account via the Mog station before 31 December 2014
As stated, yes the "Wind-Up Dalamud" was only available on the 'Before Meteor' soundtrack but there is a new minion coming out "Wind-Up Bahamut" .........
Preorder now for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Original Soundtrack [Blu-ray] via the Square-Enix store :D So you have a choice (or both if you choose lol) however the 'Before Meteor' soundtrack has more tracks on it and.........
The following is quoted from the SE store as I believe you run the chance of not getting a minion from the 'Before Meteor' soundtrack anymore...
"< The first run of the soundtrack also contains a download code for a unique in-game minion! >
Within a limited number of copies from the first print run of the album you will find a serial code that allows you to download the special "Wind-Up Bahamut" minion to use in the game itself!"
--------------
The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Original Soundtrack [Blu-ray] is due for release on the 26th March and it is $50 or £31 depending which side of the Atlantic you are on. Can't remember what the price is on the EU website and I am unsure of what the cost is for those in Australia, but you can still order it from any of the stores and it will tell you the postage cost regardless.
50 bucks?
I don't want it that bad.
Actually, the new OST features a totally different minion to the one included with Before Meteor (BM features a Wind-Up Dalamud which shows what it looked like before the Calamity - the minion included with the new OST however is a Wind-up Bahamut, showing the big lizard bursting out of Dalamud). So yeah, two totally different minions (the OP is actually asking about the Wind-Up Dalamud).
Bleh. Getting permanently locked out of stuff like that is rubbish... The inability to complete a collection winds up killing my interest in a game pretty harshly. :-/
Granted, they've already crossed that bridge by introducing out-of-game acquisition, one-off-events, and exclusive 1.Ø crap in the first place, but still...
I wanted the minion, but I wasn't going to throw $5Ø at it... That's just a rip-off and sets a bad precedent... :-\
Um... if this is what's killing your interest in the game then you have some serious issues. Get a grip already.
You have PLENTY of time and opportunity to get the minion if you chose so.
This is nothing new from SE, there are items in XI that you can no longer obtain as well. As the old saying goes... you snooze, you lose.
I'm not sure how limited the first run of the CD is/was, but the minion is limited to the initial print run.
http://store.na.square-enix.com/stor...0#.UuqCvPldXzEQuote:
As part of the initial print run, purchasers will also receive a code that they can redeem to unlock an exclusive minion – Wind-Up Dalamud. Please note that you will receive the Wind-Up Dalamud minion once FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn has launched. The bonus code must be redeemed by December 31, 2014.
Before Meteor is a super soundtrack - granted it is a bit more expensive than normal but you do get 104 tracks plus the HD version of the of the video to "Answers" which is really amazing.
I think you should probably just get over that one. It's just a minion.
It's not a rip off. The idea isn't to buy the minion for $50. The idea is to buy the soundtrack, the minion is a free extra for those who do.
Your perspectives are crazy skewed.
I would still not buy a sound track and video for 50 bucks.
Fine for those that would, but that's too rich for my blood.
So the one in Squarenix shop is or not with the code?
I tried their support but looks like they didnt understand the question ._.
I want the soundtrack, however I want to buy from where I can get the code also Xp
Yeah I'm also curious about that "initial print run" business. Has anyone bought the Before Meteor OST recently and found that it still comes with a code?
I guess it depends on where you buy it from - I suppose there would still be online importers with the first run version in stock, but then, I bought my copy on pre-release so I have no idea if that's still the case.
I'm trying support again, hope we get an answer.
Be it a weapon, a minion, a dungeon or whatever, losing access to any part of the game sucks. I strongly believe everyone should have the ability to access 100% of the game, whenever they buy the game, just for buying it.
Simply because they did something I consider stupid before doesn't mean I should be satisfied with them doing it again.
Granted at this point, they've already been locking content, so attempting to collect anything has been rather pointless from the start.
Adding these types of things on to external purchases though has been something that annoyed me from the onset (In my eyes, you may as well just add a cash-shop at that point); time-limiting them just makes it worse.
Agreed.
I'm kinda of collector, so those OSTs r welcome to my collection. (with 100 musics each, and with mp3 already on disc, its awesome)
Buuuuut....I have to agree, for most of comunity that dun care bout OST albuns....to have a key on something like that sounds like the worst kind of cash shop..
This remember about 3 Dissidia DLCs...where u had to buy other games go get them (one of them wasnt even from Final Fantasy series)....yeah SE isnt new on that >.>
----------------------
However I disagree about event items, I know it sux when u miss something from an event u want but.....somehow thats what makes the event stuff special, they r unique.
I just wanted that Armoirie Chest worked better on that >.>
still waiting on confirmed answer instead of all off topics talkings:mad:
Aside of the minion alone...
I think Beyond Meteor OST is worth every dime, since it's the only official XIV 1.0 OST ppl have been waiting for, instead of partial albums released prior to this.
Even if I missed getting Dalamud minion, I would take this album, which I did. :D
Nope, I pre-order mine when I first knew it back then. But what I'm saying is that the OST itself is worth it, even without the minion. Even put mine in my smartphones so I can play it anytime. :)
I purchased the soundtrack the other day and from what i believe the code is included in the with the blu-ray package. If you look on the official square enix store it says instructions for registering the wind up Dalamud minion on the main sale page so I assume it is included or they should remove that. If you're uncertain I should receive my copy next week when I do I will confirm it in this thread.
Minions...........They do so much
Wrong, thats the title....the question is:
The Answer is by a code in "Before Meteor Soundtrack" that we are trying to discover if there's still a way to get.
Same way he didnt ask "how do I redeem my Dalamud code?" he asked if he can GET the minion...and the answer is the same as above.
I got mine from CD Japan but their website states they're out of First Press copies :/
I've seen a couple on Ebay, maybe you could send them a msg and ask if it comes with the code. They don't have to open it; on the cover wrapping there's a sticker that says (in JP) "Final Fantasy XIV: Shin Eorzea [Mammette Daragabu] Serial Code" and has the expiration date 2014/12/31. If you need a picture of this sticker lemme know so I can take one.
To answer the question topic: YES you can still get one, if you happen to find one lol.
Yup I already tried on Ebay and I think found some there. More expensive as u said Xp
But...I wanted to know if SE ones r still giving codes...ya know
Not only cause its cheaper, but I would combine shipping with other stuff from SE-Shop X3
Hmm...should u show the picture? I think I know its looks like but I want to be sure...
Aaaaand Vilhem sig looks like a Spoiler X0 (Yeah didnt finish story yet)
Yeah I'll give you a picture of it, give me a min or so.
My sig is from a cutscene in 1.0 XD Nothing spoiler, don't worry.
