End Game Question

So i am leveling quite quickly in this game and i am just wondering upon hitting the level cap what are some things that are an absolute must at start of beginning the "End Game"

Quickest way's to gear and get up to date and doing the most current content for PvE?

End game really comes down to finishing the main storyline - you can't unlock any of the quests, dungeons or raids for endgame until the main questline is complete. Then it just basically boils down to a gear check, which you really don't need to worry about too much at your current level. Really, at this point in time, don't rush to end game - there's so much people miss out on in a effort to get to 50 and when they get there, they've burned themselves out. So just play through the story and level your main class at your own pace. :D

I'm deff going at my own pace just find myself leveling a little quicker then other game's i have tried out, and i've been focusing more on my story line because of the fact the level req is lower then my current level...

Just wondering really how to gear out once i hit that cap.

I know starting to go for relic wep right ASAP is something to shoot for to.

Edit: I just killed Irfrit as well, how far off am i from getting my grand company? Then proceeding to get the chocobo.

Once you finish the storyline, you can start going, like you said, for your Relic. Also leveling your subclass a little bit more if you need some of the cross class abilities for your main job.

Start gathering tomestones for Darklight Armor, upgrade to Relic Zenith, and probably weapon. Primals, Hard Modes, are part of the Relic Quest, but also can be done apart, they can also drop a weapon. Also, try for the few new Story Missions that patch 2.1 brought up and unlock Crystal Tower.

All of that will help you on your end game equipment. Then you can push to unlock and try the Binding Coil of Bahamut, and Mythology Equipment with other kind of tomestones.

For the chocobo and Grand Company you are not far off. A few quests. Once you get into a Grand Company, the first thing to do is just that. Get your chocobo : )

Yup! Working on obtaining the Seals now :D

The way that I do things is a little slower than maybe your used to. But Obtain Ifrit Weapon> Garuda Weapon> Relic

In the mean time Do the Hard Mode Dungeons and equip the i60 gear, while in that process also buying Dark Light for the pieces you do not get i60 for.

By that time you'll have plenty of experience in your class (as far as endgame) to attempt Titan for your Relic.

Be patient, IF YOU DO DUTY FINDER for Titan, Treat it as a learning party, if you think you can actually win, keep doing your thing as in dodging and hope that everyone else will do the same :)

oh I almost forgot...I would also unlock Crystal Tower as soon as possible, for i80 gear. You only get one piece of armor a week, so feel free to lot the very first thing that drops, and have fun while doing it :D

One piece per week seems kinda shitty but i guess in the same sense its good for the longevity of the game for the player.

So, here's the advice I give to everyone: Each bit of endgame gives items of a different ilvl... and this serves as a way to know the tiers of endgame.

First, there's item level 55. The highest Grand Company gear, your AF body, Wanderer's Palace, Amdapor Keep, and the crafted Militia/Imperial gear. You should try to have a full set of this (as you can, depending on role you may not be able to get all your accessories level 55). The crafted set is the one I recommend most, as it can be fairly cheap and you can turn it into materia to sell when you're done, often making a profit (Make sure to get HQ so it's as good as the other available items.

Item level 60 is obtained via Copperbell Mines (Hard), Haukke Manor (Hard), and Pharos Sirius. There's two sets for each for healers, casters, tanks, pugilists, lancers, and archers. As for the weapon, it's obtained from Ifrit hard mode.

Item level 70 armor is darklight gear, obtained by Philosophy tomestones. There's also crafted versions, crafted using materials bought with philosophy tomestones. If HQ and filled with materia, the crafted ones can be better. As for weapon, there's also crafted weapons, or you can get a drop from Garuda hard mode.

Level 75 weapons drop from Good King Moggle Mog

Item level 80 armor is from Crystal Tower. You can get one drop a week. The weapon drops from Titan hard mode, and getting a relic weapon.

Item level 90 armor drops from Binding Coil of Bahamut, and can be bought with mythology tomestones. You can also get accessories from the extreme mode primals. The weapon is a relic weapon upgraded with mythology tomestones, or a weapon obtained by beating all extreme mode primals (can get one of those each week).

Item level 95 weapons drop from Binding Coil of Bahamut.

Generally, it's recommended you have a fair amount of items from the previous tier before moving on to the next one.

Awesome description appreciate it.. Now my question is, you can only receive one piece of gear from those respective dungeons/raids. Is that all across the board or is it for the class your playing? Say you greed on something that isn't for you class does that count for your "one piece"?

Also, if you wanted to level up a lancer/dragoon say as a side class and have all your pieces you want/need on your archer/bard, can you use those pieces you obtain with your bard on your lancer?

Binding Coil of Bahamut is 5 turns, Each turn can be done once, but you can lot up to two pieces from each turn, with the exception of turn 3 which gives no Armor/accesories.

Oh and as far as Hard Mode (HM) dungeons, you can lot and receive as many as you want :)

None of the lockouts are per class. They are all per character.

Most visible armor at level 50 can not be shared between DRG and BRD. Darklight, CT gear, and myth gear are all for either LNC/DRG or ARC/BRD. Accessories generally can be shared, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea; BRD wants Dexterity, and DRG wants Strength.

That's not a universal rule for all classes, though. The tank classes share a lot of gear. So do the healing classes. And the magical DPS classes. DRG and MNK could share a lot of accessories, but not as much visible armor. ARC/BRD is pretty much on its own gear-wise at level 50 (earlier gear often has both STR and DEX, so it's for any DoW).

Interesting....

They made raiding more confusing then i've ever experienced or it's just the fact that i haven't experienced it yet.

What exactly is a "turn"? trying to get to know this terminology better.

A Turn is simply one level/event has one end boss with two items/loot/booty. (exception turn 3 only has coffers that offer some type of medicine)

Also part is that you have not experienced it yet as well.

It's a term specific to the Binding Coil. It's not one dungeon, but rather several dungeons you work through. You start at Turn 1, and progress through to the current cap of Turn 5. Each turn can also only be done once a week (And if someone else in the party is further along than you this week, you'll instantly jump to their progress when you enter the dungeon. Depending on what you need, this can be good or bad).

Makes sense so upon hitting 50 ill go for my higher end grand company gear to farm the other stuff..

Any tips on earning gil as well?

By finishing the story if you didn't spend too much you will have around 200k gils (some will have more than 300k).
Specially if you take the allagan coins to sell instead of gear as quest rewards.

Then you will do dungeons, duty roulette, leves... this will give you some cash.
Depending how much time you play this is a correct source of income.

To be very rich only finding/making some stuff to sell (materia, materials for craft, crafted material, gear ...)

The LVL 55 Grand Company weapon can actually be used for Ifrit HM and Garuda HM, even Haukke Manor and WP. My first run at Ifrit HM i had maybe only 1 piece of dl and it was no problem.
By the time you get to Titan you for sure want full DL, i was at ilvl63 and really had a hard time. I see that you are Archer, for the advise that someone said to get Primal weapons Ifrit>Garuda> Titan well maybe you may have luck
but after 40+ runs of Ifrit HM i have never seen the bow once and Garuda's bow is far better from what i have read. Our FC and LS ended up helping me acquire a crafting lvl 70 HQ bow in the end.
For dl gear itself i highly recommend to get anything that gives you more vit as it will be needed for Titan. CT others have said it better and i have yet to unlock it.

I can't offer any advice of my own as I haven't gotten there yet, but I can point out a thread that had a lot of good (well, at least clear and well organized, I'll assume good) info about what to do at endgame. (Note: the original post was written before the 2.1 patch so there's some additional content that's not included here, but what is discussed here should, I think, still be valid.) I actually recommend buying an HQ set of crafted level 55 imperia/militia gear (Be sure to get the stuff that matches your class!) Grand Company gear is all over the place in terms of stats, and only a couple pieces might be useful to you. The level 55 GC weapon is the only one that's guaranteed to be of any use to you. Plus, the imperial/militia gear can be converted into materia, which can be sold to recoup your losses or possibly even turn a profit.

As for gil, do daily beastman quests, leves, and duty roulette every day.

Guys. I can't find my main quest logo. I completed the story , without given out too many spoils, let's just say the last quest I did was follow a white robed guy outside vesper bay and passed his trials. But I don't know what next to do because I don't see a main quest icon anywhere.

Go back to the waking sands.
