I just got kicked from CT for pulling too fast, by a pre-made

I had a five-person group in my party. I was pulling each pack of trash ten seconds after every alliance member was in the area.

They said 'Stop pulling, the other groups aren't ready.' The other groups had said absolutely nothing and they were all in the area, so I said 'It's fine, they're all here.' and they proceeded to call me a douche.
Before the boss, the five-person group said 'hold on while we kick him, sorry for pulling while you weren't ready' and they kicked me. The other alliances objected and said that they were all ready and there was no problem.

Why is there nothing in place to prevent this?

Instead of suggesting WHAT should be done, you just shrug it off, for someone else to think up the impossible.

There is no way to prevent this abuse, simply because the game cant tell whats fair or not fair.

if you knew of a system that would fix it, you would have said "Why didnt they just do X to fix it?"

You can report for harassment.

Or you could have asked if it was okay to pull - in your own party.

If it was a matter that you were pulling too fast for them, then perhaps you can ask them next time or go into alliance and say /a "Group B ready" usually people catch on and reply. That way your given a reason to pull.

Eh, not that I agree with these constant "I got kicked ;_;" threads, but the idea that people won't kick you from parties for no good reason is silly. Of course he could have been with five people who wanted to see a ten second ready check on every trash pull, complete with countdown, I doubt the rest of the alliance wanted that. It's just the Skeletal Dragon trash after all.

If everyone is in the group there, on CT trash, you don't need a hand delivered presidential authorization to pull the group. Even if 5 people are afk you should still breeze through in CT trash with 19 people. (you could probably do it with 12 people actually)

They are absolutely not within their rights to kick him, which is reserved only for strict circumstances like cheating, afk, harassment or disconnect. You not liking someone or disagreeing with them is not grounds for votekick, and people such as yourself are what making this system abusive. You cannot kick someone for bad gear, if they are going to roll on your same item, not being top DPS, for not knowing the instance or being new, etc...

Anyways, they need to clean up the votekick system to actually only afk/disconnect/hard trolling, or else it will just be ruled like players such as yourself who will kick anyone at any whim they feel sufficient. As near full 90 on multiple characters, this type of bad behavior is slowly persuading me not even want to use DF anymore, as just yesterday, I was almost kicked out of a DF group in Haukke Manor Hard mode, on the final boss of the dungeon, as a tank for not "dpsing enough" on the last boss because the ads weren't dying quick enough. I was doing about equal damage (as a tank) with one of the Dragoons who was obviously new, but I never said a word about it and they were harassing me and was about 1 inch from kicking me for not dpsing, and they they got hit by a red circle and tried to say its my fault... These type of people having vote kick free reign will turn the DF into strictly a place to accommodate the lowest common denominator player, and then yes please make another thread on the forums here when you can't find tanks for instances or have long wait times in queue.

Honestly, as much as it sucks, you shouldn't have been pulling without asking, especially since the group said to wait. You also knew that you were with a pre-made, so you really should have been asking, or just let the other tank pull.

Asking in alliance chat if everyone is ready is an easy thing to do, and honestly every group should be doing that before a pull.

As for the guy saying that this was abuse of VTK...they can report the OP for harassment, since pulling before people are ready can be considered it...if the group you're with wasn't ready and you pull even though they said not to...

Absolutely not, if they are within the 'zone' that seals off, then they are ready for an encounter. If you had to have every member of a group verbally confirm before every pull, or be at risk of "harassment/cheating" as a tank, you would get precisely 0 tanks ever in your DF.

Yeah...no. Lots of people go into the zone instinctively because there are so many impatient tanks who just run in and aggro everything, and many tanks just ignore people outside the zone anyway

Typing "/a Group A is ready" in chat and waiting for a response, or "/a Other groups ready?" isn't hard, and once you get "Group B ready" and "Group C ready" you can pull.

And then, there's KB...where you need to ask who is tanking what and often has a good few minutes downtime before the pull, even when everyone is in the arena...

So you are literally asking for confirmation verbally from 3 groups, each with 8 members, so you need 24 people to communicate before a trash pull, and then each alliance to communicate together so, so 27 total communications ... u r doing it wrong. How many people does it take to change a lightbulb in your place of residence may I ask?

Bosses are different and maybe need a little coordination beforehand. If people are not ready outside the "lock out" zone, then that is a different story. In fact if you aren't ready you shouldn't enter the pull zone, that is simple communication for the tanks to wait. And I am going to go out on a huge limb and say you have never played a tank.

I regularly tank CT as WAR and PLD, MT, OT, tower and claw duty. I've done it all. Also have healed (even solo-healed the KB MT...yep, other heal got locked-out) and DPSed.

And yes...asking if everyone is ready is just common courtesy.

Communication skills, use it.
Don't assume everyone is ready, if you're going to be the first one pulling then you're taking the role to lead the whole CT group to win/death so it's your responsibility to check. You didn't do that and just went in assuming everone was ready = ended up in you getting kicked. Lesson learned for next time you start the pull, right?

That is ridiculous. If people are in the area AND op gave them 10 seconds, he's fine to pull. If one group has a mass 5 minute AFK, it's on them to warn the raid. If one person has to go pee, who cares, it's trash. It's not like anyone actually ever asks who's ready within the parties before announcing ready in alliance chat.

Well players in my server do, 1 person from each team will say ok, then only we go, of course the person representing the party does not go asking everyone in his/her party whether they are ready. If someone in the party is not ready they will mention in their own party chat, and the representative will just inform the alliance. Common courtesy and it doesn't take long. But in OP case no one bother to communicate between each team, OP team assume the other teams are not ready because they never said anything and proceeded to kick OP for pulling. This wouldn't have happen if 1 person from each team would just take a few second so say they are ready.

The only problem here is that you knew it was an issue, and you proceeded to do it anyway, ignoring everything being said.

Sometimes things are fine, sometimes not; don't assume every group is the same. Basically, be considerate, or accept the consequences.

Yes.
Or you simply say "pulling in 20 seconds", and if no one says anything you instinctively know everyone is ready and just pull. Its really simple & doesn't hurt as much as wiping 344534 because a tank just decided to pull when half the alliances were away.

Sometimes vote-kick can be useful. I have tried to help new players learn their roles, and am patient with them. However, when your wiping on every pull it's either vote abandon or vote-kick. When a dps waits 45 minutes I understand those vote-kicks. I play mainly tanks and healers. Those situations hopefully will drive the player kicked to improve. But I absolutely agree with not kicking someone over 1 piece of gear, or pulling too fast or too slow. If someone is constantly rushing in on boss when all are not ready and wiping...well that's a different story. I do not think there is a good solution to it though. Just make the best of it and have fun. After all thats why we play right?

Let's take this in context. It's a premade. They can just quit without a timer. But there's other factors. So if 5 or more people (the majority) in the group decides that one guy isn't going in the same direction as the team, and no longer want to continue with this player.. the majority should all take a hit and leave and then requeue? And the rest of the alliance is sat on their thumbs all waiting for people to refill? And when they do that they'd still boot the guy from the premade before they queue again. The vote kick used in this instance saved the alliance collectively a lot of grief.

I'd say his behaviour is considered disruptive if after being told not to do something still goes and does it. It really doesn't matter that what he did was or wasn't a big problem in terms of the dungeon mechanics, he's causing the others to not want to group with him.

I do get your point, and groups of friends can band together to kick someone out for frivolous reasons, but in this case I would say it made sense to do so.

I gotta agree with the majority here on this issue and say that I'm siding with the party that kicked the OP.

Sometimes people DC from the game but it takes a while for people to notice that someone has dced. Just because everyone is in the area, it does not mean we're all ready to go. Further more, if there were deaths in the last room for some reason, then healers need time to rebuff etc. It doesn't matter whether it's trash mobs in the first room or boss fights. The tank should always wait for confirmation before going. It's about making sure the run is as successful as possible for the most people possible and the way to help ensure that is to prepare that everyone is equally as ready to face the content ahead of them instead of getting surprised by an overzealous tank.
