Not Everyone Likes FATES

I am one of those people. I hate them and avoid them whenever possible. Despite my best efforts I continue to be negatively impacted by them. The constant repetition of FATEs continues to delay or prevent me from doing the things I set out to do. So far today I have lost 3 levequests in Whitebrim because the Ice Sprite popped right on top of ime n the middle of a levequest and I did not survive the initial onslaught. IMO the best way to correct this is to make it so you have to opt into the FATE. If you do not then it is as if it is not even there for you. The mobs cannot attack you or you them. Let me know your opinion.

As it is now, even if you are not level synced to participate, the monsters from the fate can hit you with aoe if you stand in it. XD Many times I have afked in the wrong wrong WRONG spot.

And then there's people who are upset with lack of dangerous monsters.

I actually would want fates to be more challenging and be a roadblock to certain area.

Although I can see that being a problem for gatherers.

It is actually good that you can get wrecked by monsters. Don't sterilize the world further.

I like fates and hate dungeons and raids and primals. Go figure.

So long you don't leave the zone the leve don't end with your dead. There is also a message popping up at the start of the leve if you didn't set your homepoint in the zone.

So tell me. your 7 minutes into a 20 minute levequest when 20 mobs pop around you and kill you. No one is doing the FATE and it is 20 minutes long. Bye-bye levequest. You are preparing to do a main line story quest and a FATE pops on top of the spot. You are telling me that I am required to waste 20 minutes before it times out. You are missing the point. There must be a method to prevent this kind of overlap without impacting everyone enjoyment of various aspects of the game

The real question is why it is taking you more then 2-3minutes to even complete a levequest?

Not everyone like fates? Almost everyone hates fates

Have you ever DONE a gathering leve? They take 5-7 minutes to do with the slow ass swings. Stealth as well if there are enemies near.

So anything semi challenging you hate. Basically what you are saying is i play this game because its a vanity dress up game. Urgh....

More dangerous? Huh, so you want to ruin the leveling experience even more? Fates are almost impossible to do from 1-50 and therefor you can not level to 50. Because there are not enough players to finish them, and now you want to make them more dangerous??

So long it is not a NM FATE you can solo them. Slow, but possible. And if it is still too hard, ask your chocobo if he could help you (if you have trained him)

Guessing you don't have a Gathering class.

You know what you get if you take away the F.A.T.E markers off the mini/world map and notification that you've entered a F.A.T.E?

Pretty much NM's from FF11, but with no loot drops and with faster spawn times. It's just a glorified alert system to let you know there is a group NMs, or single NM really close by.

i would love an [ON] [OFF] feature. i hate fates and they seem to pop at the worst time or give my ps3 seizures. i cry a little every time i need to go into bramble patch and of course the trees of freeze pop and everything goes wonky.

FATEs are mind-numbing and really annoying.

I'm mostly burned out on Fates because they offered arguably the best exp pre-2.1 for alt classes...I leveled my main on Fates a fair amount from 40-50, and my SMN at least half the 1-50 grind in the same fashion. They aren't bad, and I still do some every so often or when I get one for a daily. As my burnout on them subsides I will probably be more apt to step into them for the sake of doing so or to lend a hand as I go from place to place.

The IDEA behind FATEs wasn't bad. Its just they're so shallow and pointless. If I decide not to save a village, you know what happens? Nothing.
