If it's a FATE I'm going to kill someone.
You know it will be.
I know... but.... but.... :(
Se have lost all their creativity and imagination....every new "event" turns out to be a 2 min fate...what a waste of resources.
SE didn't lose their creativity - When it comes to XIV they have to keep this game "Standard" which means they developed themselves into a corner. People wished for this kind of game so now they got it.
FATE.
F A T E.
They can't be creative with FATEs if their whole mantra is keeping this game accessible. The only bridge in this game that would even make sense for 'Battle on the Big Bridge' is in a low level area - You really think they'd dump a complex and challenging FATE in such a low level zone? Look at the past FATEs. No one is "judging before details have been released", people already know how it will be if it's a FATE.
Either: Collaboration style, basically piggy backing other FATEs with no true thought to them
Behemoth/Odin style - an orgy of flashing lights and disappointment.
Take your pick. If it's not a FATE, thankfully Yoshida wised up - If it is a FATE though, yet another wasted opportunity.
i would be happy but i like fates. but i think it would be a cool solo,4 man, or 8man content.
8 players content or nothing.
Maybe it will be a trial?
Judging how the hildibrand quests started off, it seems it MIGHT be a fate.
it's probably going to be a trial.
people would get confused if they we're walking through highbridge and gilgamesh spawns RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU.
I'd like to see it set up like Chimera.
Please look forward to it!
(or not ... >.<)
What's that you don't like FATEs because they're all the same thing with zero skill involved? Well maybe if we keep forcing them you'll eventually learn to like them. Oh what's that you're actually hyped for Gilgamesh? Perfect opportunity to make everyone appreciate FATEs by making him one too, surely this will make everyone love them.
Make it a 2 or 3 full party raid! :D
I can't see it being a FATE... I mean, say you haven't even touched the Hildibrand quest yet, but you're walking across Highbridge; out pops Gilgamesh and Hildibrand for a FATE battle... Yeah... I don't see that happening...
Have they actually said we'll be fighting Gilgamesh in 2.2? Because I find it much more likely that he'll fight Hildibrand in a cutscene and we'll just be left watching, dumbstruck.
I didn't expect Shantotto being a FATE either the first they announced it because I played XI and did ASA, so of course I'd have figured it to be a challenging time limited trial of some kind.
You may not be able to see it happening, but it's pretty much either a silly 4 man content or FATE. Doesn't seem like he wants to really do too much with 8man style content outside of primals and end-game. He already stated awhile back it's a sidequest type of content revolving around him.
What sidequests in XIV do we have any kind of challenging trials linked to? Primals aren't sidequests as you need completion in order to do certain 'main' scenario stuff.
Oh man, it better not be a FATE, I'll be so damn disappointed if it is. :( Dun do this to us, Square Enix baby, dun do this.
It'll be a FATE. We won't necessarily be fighting Gilgamesh (Hildibrand quest line will be milked for a bit more) but chances are we'll have to FATE to proceed with the quest (A FATE not at the bridge). After the boring FATE we go to Highbridge. Hidlibrand and Gilgamesh will meet and "clash," Hildibrand will get knocked off the bridge Wile E. Coyote style and we'll laugh a bit having already forgotten about how dumb FATEs are and how pitiful it is when events get tied into FATEs.
I think it's either going to be an instance or a trial.
As far as I'm aware of, the Hidlibrand quest is like level 48. Camp drybone is like like for level 20ish. (There are more big bridges in the game, but even those are like low level areas)
If they would to pop a fate, it has to be appropriate for the level. And with that said, it would be unrealistic to pop a high level fate there.
I don't think it will be a low level FATE since the Questline that brings in Gilgamesh is actually Level 50.
I hope the fight will be instanced like Chimera or Hydra.
How did you not expect Shantotto to be a FATE when it was said she'd be a FATE right from the first announcement? Heck, Shantottos FATE had nothing to do with ASA anyway, short of their being a giant Shantotto, and the one here was explained within this game (I highly doubt ASA featured a Minion Shantotto, given XIs lack of Minions and all).
And again, where does it even say that we'll actually fight Gilgamesh in the Hildibrand sidequests anyway? He's showing up in the quests, sure, but I've clearly missed the memo saying we'd fight him...
you all realize that there is already a high lv fate that pops in low lv zones all the time right? If the fight is like Odin, it wont matter to lowbies much because it will only happen rarely
I *hope* it's going to at least be an instance. Trial would be cool.
I'm not against FATEs entirely, I just don't want everything to be FATEs. Especially not this >.< it would be criminal!
They did mention there was going to be another "Secret" Primal battle in 2.2 (By secret they mean they wont show it till the final live letter.) Let's cross our fingers and hope it is Gilgamesh. Because if an epic character like Gilgamesh was a FATE I think I punch my computer screen.
I forgot about the secret primal thing! ...now I hope I'm not just getting my hopes up :/ lol
Gilgamesh isn't a Primal though, no more than what Shantotto or Lightning are.
And given how the Hildibrand quest line ends currently,But I guess we'll see soon enough. :)the 'stinger' at the end of the quests is a teaser for Gilgamesh's upcoming battle, where it shows him on Highbridge wielding Nael's gunhalberd and Hildibrand and Nashu confronting him, with Gil remarking "this bridge hardly seems appropriate for such an epic battle!", suggesting that's where his battle will be. So yeah, it's highly likely it's going to be a solo instanced fight based on that scene alone.
Uh, can't Odin spawn in lower level areas? Why couldn't Gilgamesh. There's also 2 bridges in Ul'dah and 1 in Limsa that could fit the criteriea (maybe 2 in Limsa)
how do people know it is a FATE and not an instanced quest fight? Where can i read it?
At least this event was months ago announced as a FATE
http://gamingbolt.com/final-fantasy-...event-detailedQuote:
Over in Final Fantasy XIV, Shantotto, the powerful black mage from Final Fantasy XI, will show up in Eorzea; players will be able to join her in a FATE, where if you defeat her, you will be able to recruit her as a minion. Similarly, a golem from Dragon Quest X will show up as a FATE in Final Fantasy XIV, and if you defeat it, it can join you as a minion.
